Miscellaneous Invitations and announcements 1983 - 2019

This a catalogue of a certain selection of Miscellaneous invitations, announcements and Christmas cards from the gallery spanning the period from 1983 through 2019.

Unfortunately over time some of the announcements and invitations have gone missing from my archive - If you have something that does not appear in any of the Archive catalogues I will be pleased to receive a scan of it and will include in the archive catalogues.

Il s'agit d'un catalogue d'une certaine sélection d'invitations, annonces et cartes de Noël diverses de la galerie couvrant la période de 1983 à 2019.

Malheureusement, au fil du temps, certaines annonces et invitations ont disparu de mes archives - Si vous avez quelque chose qui n'apparaît dans aucun des catalogues d'archives, je serai heureux d'en recevoir un scan et de l'inclure dans mes catalogues d'archives.

The selection here is divided into four parts. It begins here with the early Oceanic exhibitions and continues with the gallery Christmas cards on to the photography exhibitions of both Galerie Meyer and those of Galerie Daniel Blau during the November Photo Saint Germain Festival in Paris then there is a small series of exhibitions that were loans or organized from the outside then we have finally the Contemporary Art exhibitions and Varia…

La sélection est divisée en quatre parties. Cela commence ici avec les premières expositions d’art tribal et océaniens et se poursuit avec les cartes de Noël de la galerie puis les expositions de photographie de la Galerie Meyer et celles de la Galerie Daniel Blau pendant la Festival Photo Saint Germain en Novembre à Paris; ensuite une petite série d'expositions qui ont été prêtées ou organisées de l'extérieur puis on termine finalement avec les invitations des expositions d’art contemporains et Divers…

The previous double page shows our first exhibition invitation. I did the drawings and my mother and business partner Rita Alix Meyer did the calligraphy.

This exhibition took place in my third years of trade and I am pleased to see today that we started out very strongly offering a mix of truly fine and rare Eskimo, African, South West American Indian, Polynesian and Melanesia art objects that I would be proud to have today.

Cette exposition a eu lieu dans ma troisième année de métier et je suis heureux de voir aujourd'hui que nous avons commencé très fortement en proposant un mélange d'objets d'art vraiment exceptionnels et rares, Eskimo, Africains, Indiens du Sud-Ouest Américain, Polynésiens et Mélanésiens dont je serais fier aujourd’hui de pouvoir les présenter.

The right hand page here shows the invitation for Casse-Tête the ground breaking exhibition that we organized with my collection of South Pacific War Clubs in 1989. These were amazing times when the Paris flea-market dealers were still burning second rate (for the time) war clubs in the braseros each winter.

La page de droite ici montre l'invitation pour « Casse-Tête » l'exposition révolutionnaire que nous avons organisée avec ma collection de massues de guerre du Pacifique Sud en 1989. Ce fut une époque incroyable où les marchands des puces de Saint Ouen et de Clignancourt brûlaient encore les massues de guerre (de qualité inférieur pour l'époque) dans les braseros chaque hiver.
