On Stage 32 My opinion on the standard for the creative and entertainment industry networking platform.

A few months ago I found out about @stage32 . I wanted to start writing a screenplays and my digital search for tools and education lead me to it.

At first I wondered “Is it really different from “the other” professional networking platform? See, my past professional experiences had nothing to do with the entertainment business per se but I know firsthand that there is a lot of acting in finding a job, getting promoted, closing deals, and making sales in other industries. Also, it seems that it is expected to go overboard with business profiles and resumes composition.

In my opinion, here’s what differentiates the Stage 32 platform from the others: to make it in the entertainment business it is “really real”. To act, write, sing, film, transform people with costume design and makeup, direct, musicalize, produce, etc; there has to be true talent inside of each person working the project.

Talent, or perhaps soft skills when acting, that become tangible when a performance is completed. The end product is a creation that comes alive, you can see it, you can live it, you can feel it.

Likewise with other creative expressions.

So when going into the lounges, profiles, and forums at @stage32 I realized that there is an abundance of talent and creativity trying to make it out there. There is not a lot of room to decor your profile unless you have proof of your abilities.

I am not sure this is making a lot of sense to you but bear with me just a moment.

Then there is @rbwalksintoabar and the team. With positive energy and good vibes, their amiable approach give you the confidence to trust the process and keep working on your dreams.

I recently read a post on a different screenwriting blog that discussed how after COVID 19 there is so much content out there that it is really hard right know to have a chance of landing a deal. The author continued explaining why it is even more challenging if you are new to the business, and that published work and other available intellectual property have a paved way to production, etc. This may well be the case but if you believe in your talent and your product you have to keep moving forward. And with social media and other video and publishing platforms, there are so many ways to do this that it is really incredible if you don’t find your niche and outlet.

As for me, I will follow RB’s advise. I will keep writing, registering my material, and start sharing it with others at www.stage32.com convinced that there is something I can contribute to the industry and to the world.
