Erectile Dysfunction Treatment
Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a common sexual health concern for men. It can be caused by a variety of physical or psychological factors.
Medications are often the first treatment option. But if that doesn't work, your doctor may refer you to a urologist or mental health specialist who can help address your physical and emotional causes of ED.
Oral Medication
The most commonly prescribed ED medications are sildenafil (Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis), vardenafil (Levitra) and avanafil (Stendra). Sildenafil and other drugs work by reversing the effects of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5), which blocks regular blood flow to your penis.
Another erectile dysfunction treatment is testosterone replacement. This involves injecting a testosterone-based medicine into your penis and can help you get and maintain an erection.
It's important to consult with a doctor before starting testosterone replacement, because some men may have a high risk for heart disease or low blood pressure and should not use it without supervision.
Some ED medications can cause sudden loss of hearing or vision, which is called priapism. This condition can be painful and requires immediate medical attention.
Several medications are injected directly into the base or side of your penis to achieve an erection. These medications can also be combined with oral medication to improve your sexual performance.
Penile Injections
Penile injections are a well-established and effective second-line treatment for erectile dysfunction, often used when oral medications fail or are not tolerated. They provide a much less invasive alternative to surgical penile prosthesis.
Unlike oral medications, penile injections do not cause mardana taqat ki medicine in pakistan, and they have little to no side effects. Some men experience a transient dull ache at the base of the penis following injection, but this is generally well-tolerated.
To prepare for an ICP injection, draw the medication from a premixed 10 mL prescription vial into a short syringe with a very fine needle (29-31 gauge). Clean the site with an alcohol wipe and inject into a small area of the mishit of the penis on the left or right side, as shown in Figure 3.
Be sure to alternate sides of the shaft every time you inject. This helps to prevent the risk of priapism. It also allows for more blood to flow into the penis, which is necessary for a healthy erection.
Vacuum Erection Device
Vacuum erection devices are a type of penile pump that uses negative pressure to stimulate blood flow and generate an erection. They’re a non-invasive treatment that can help men with erectile dysfunction have and maintain healthy erections without medication.
A vacuum erection device, or VED, consists of a tube that fits over your penis and a hand- or battery-powered pump. A lubricant is applied to your penis and the opening of the tube, then air is pumped out until an erection is achieved.
Studies show that VEDs can work for about 50% to 80% of men. But satisfaction rates may decrease over time, and a small number of users have been known to develop complications such as pain or bruising.
Whether or not you choose a VED, there are other erectile dysfunction treatments that have been proven to be effective. For example, GAINSWave Shock Wave has more than 30 clinical trials that prove it can help men get and keep an erection.
Muse
Muse is an erectile dysfunction treatment that works by stimulating the flow of blood to your penis. It is a form of alprostadil that enters the urethra through a suppository device.
Once in the urethra, the medication is broken down and transported to your penis through the spongy tissue called corpora cavernosa. The increased blood flow leads to an erection.
Compared with PDE5 inhibitors, such as Viagra, Cialis and Levitra, MUSE has a faster onset time. It normally results in an erection within 5 to 10 minutes, and should last between 30 and 60 minutes.
Side effects with MUSE include burning of the urethra, pain in the penis and testes, dizziness and fainting. Most side effects should resolve within an hour of ingesting the medicine.
If you experience these or mardana kamzori ki medicine names, stop taking the medication immediately. It is important to talk to your healthcare provider if you continue to experience them or have any other concerns.
