Earthquake Lourenรงo Garcia 2, January 2013 This book tells a story about the earthquake of San Francisco in 1906 and a family who lived in a farm close to the city of San Francisco. They went through a very hard time during the night of the earthquake when they had to save their family and the animals. In this family, the father, Philip saved his family from a fire in their house where his baby was sleeping. Philip also saved the farm and the animals during the earthquake when the fire was getting close to the animals. He came just on time to wash the fire away.

I was very impressed to see what Philip would do to save his family and animals and how brave he behaved. I also really liked this book because I could compare how it was like being in an earthquake before and now. There are some pages that describe with quite a lot of detail the big earthquake of 1906 and how vulnerable the houses were compared to today. It was important to read those last pages because it gave me lots of info. Author: Kathleen V. Kudlinski Illustrator: Ronald Hilmar Genre: Historical Fiction Number: 56
