In Year 6, the students become more independent by being responsible for receiving and passing on important information This approach helps students develop skills for managing their communication, both in school and beyond. Expect less communication directly from teachers. Information about upcoming events and important dates is shared directly with students to pass along to home

● Connect

The Connect platform is now the main parent-facing tool, providing access to termly newsletters, assessment updates, curriculum guides, and general year-level information. Reports are shared via the iSams parent portal, giving parents easy access to their child’s progress. Term highlights and important dates from the upcoming term will be shared via the Year 6 Connect page at the conclusion of each term.

● General Communication

Parents can reach out by email to the Homeroom Teacher, who serves as the main contact for well-being and overall support.. For communication regarding absences or other administrative matters, including emergencies, parents should contact the Secondary Secretary or for academic-related matters, parents should contact the relevant subject teacher directly. This system helps streamline communication and ensures parents have clear pathways to stay informed and engaged in their child’s education

● School Newsletter

Important dates for the term ahead will be shared via the school newsletter at the start of each term.

Homework

Each core subject, Maths, Science, English, and Humanities is assigned on a different day of the week, with homework due the same day the following week. This structure helps students transition to a daily homework routine, spreading the workload across the week to support better time management
