John W. Glomb, Jr.
To benefit the students of AIM Academy and the AIM Institute for Learning & Research.
On behalf of the board, faculty, families and especially the students of AIM, it is our great pleasure to welcome you to our 2024 AIM for the Stars Gala. We are thrilled to have your support as we “Partner for Impact” and empower the lives of students through literacy, and to provide training and resources for educators across the globe.
We’ve experienced significant growth this past year, supporting 410 students and families. The class of 2024 boasts 43 seniors who will soon join the over 300 alumni of AIM Academy since our first graduating class of 2012 with 5 seniors! It is exciting to see their plans for college, career, and service.
Construction began on our Global Innovation Hub in September and it is amazing to see the progress! The Hub will offer students state-of-the-art learning spaces and opportunities to collaborate with peers and industry partners on real-world challenges. Equipped with updated science labs and high-tech spaces, the Global Innovation Hub will undoubtedly enhance STEAM education and prepare students for future workforce challenges.
AIM Institute for Learning & Research has experienced growth as well, partnering with 36 State Departments of Education and various school districts for AIM Pathways training. Today, over 35,000 educators across 111the country have taken AIM Pathways courses with the goal of ensuring that they have the tools to ensure that all students in their classrooms maximize their potential through improved literacy skills.
This year’s AIM Institute for Learning & Research Leadership Award goes to our longtime board member John W. Glomb, Jr., whose commitment to leadership and dedication to furthering the goals of the AIM Institute is evident. He is also the parent of four former AIM students, and serves his community as co-chair of the University of Pennsylvania Rowing Sports Board and as a member of the Breaking Barriers Steering Committee for Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia.
AIM Academy’s Sally L. Smith Founder’s Awardee is Dr. Tim Odegard, a psychology professor holding the Katherine Davis Murfree Chair of Excellence in Dyslexic Studies at Middle Tennessee State University.
