About NLDC 2012: I am an AIESECer: My Adventure, Our Impact Member Committee President message: On 12-‐16th of December, AIESEC Singapore held its annual NaAonal Leadership Development Conference. This conference brought together youth from across Singapore’s four major universiAes along with youth from across Asia Pacific and was personally very meaningful being the first conference outside of New Zealand that I aMended and which ulAmately played a part in where I am today. The conference theme for this year was: I am an AIESECer; My Adventure, Our Impact. As part of this theme, delegates explored what an AIESEC journey can look like for their own personal leadership and explored how the organisaAon can make a bigger social impact in the way it develops youth through our exchange programmes. This year, AIESEC Singapore piloted AIESEC’s Youth to Business Forum as part of NLDC to provide the 150+ delegates with a greater perspecAve of the world around them. This Youth to Business Forum connected our partners including MicrosoY, PwC, UBS and more to youth through a series of interacAve workshops, topic discussions, networking and a panel discussion. AYer a posiAve feedback of the day from our delegates, AIESEC Singapore will take the Youth to Business concept forward in our major events. As a member of the conference delivery team, I was privileged to work with facilitators from around the ! Asia Pacific Region who are specialists in their own enAAes and programmes. These facilitators came from AIESEC in Indonesia, Philippines, New Zealand, Mongolia, Taiwan and Singapore. They provided the delegates with their wealth of knowledge and challenged delegates’ tradiAonal view on what an AIESEC adventure can look like by sharing their own stories. About NLDC 2012: I am an AIESECer: My Adventure, Our Impact Organizing Committee President message: This year’s NaAonal Leadership Development Conference [NLDC] 2012 theme was ‘I am an AIESECER, My adventure, Our Impact’ which greatly signifies the important of the individual AIESECer’s journey as a collecAve effort to achieve AIESEC Singapore’s goals and vision. We are greatly honored to have MicrosoY and PwC to return to our annual AIESEC event as our diamond and gold sponsor respecAvely. I would like to appreciate their dedicaAon and efforts at the Youth to Business forum during the conference. The presence of our sponsors had significantly liYed up the spirit of excellence and professionalism in the hearts of the delegates. Furthermore, their involvement in NLDC 2012 had brought about much inspiraAons and newfound desires to our delegates through the carefully craYed sessions and insighaul panel discussion. I would also like to express my appreciaAon to the organizing commiMee for their unwavering commitment and desire to create the best conference experience for delegates. One significant breakthrough the organizing commiMee had achieved that I would like to share was that the commiMee had managed to engage youths beyond AIESEC through our special events. This is a great demonstraAon of the commitment the members had to work towards the 2015 vision. Moreover, this breakthrough is being carried forward as individual organizing commiMee member return to their respecAve local chapters and organize more events to reach out to more youths in Singapore. It is to my belief that NaAonal Leader Development Conference 2012 had been a sounding success in delivering the direcAon of AIESEC Singapore to the delegaAon and the empowerment of skills and knowledge to the delegaAon. We were able conAnue to upkeep the professionalism and standard of internaAonal conferences in Singapore that was built upon the past 3 years. NaAonal Leadership Development Conference is definitely one of AIESEC Singapore’s pride and glory. Conference Highlights Singapore Youth to Business Forum The Singapore Youth to Business Forum brought together over 200 young leaders to allow for Business to connect and interact with Youth through the exchanging of insights. The forum allowed for engaging and interacAons between conversaAons between a cross secAon of the youth; development experts and business leaders with a goal of creaAng lasAng societal impact for Singapore and beyond. Our esteemed partners such as MicrosoY and PwC delivered engaging and empowering sessions to drive across the themes of entrepreneurship, innovaAon and CSR.

AIESEC Program Sessions The heroes journey, which served as the overall driver for NLDC 2012 enabled delegates to connect deeply into the inner and outer journeys of their respecAve AIESEC experience. Delegates were also reconnected to the why of the organizaAon and were able to gain deeper clarity to the purpose and vision of the organizaAon. During day 3, delegates were realigned towards driving the various program experiences and creaAng the share ownership towards achieveing AIESEC 2015.

So= Skills Sessions This year the facilitator team of NLDC 2012, delivered over 20 sessions on speciﬁc soY skills topics such as networking, body language, change management, communicaAon skills and many others in order to boost the skills and competencies of our members. This was followed by funcAonal skills such as event management, markeAng essenAals and quality management which empowered our delegates with new insights and concepts to drive for performance in their respecAve roles to enable AIESEC Singapore.

Conference Highlights Global Village Global Village, Our Global Voyage at NLDC 2012, celebrated the cultural diversity in the AIESEC internaAonal network. Delegates were able to experience the diﬀerent unique cultures through games, food and other acAviAes. There were also a line up of cultural performances from the Vietnamese society and an Inter-‐LC lion dance compeAAon to drive up the energy and excitement throughout the night.

Gala Dinner Legacies-‐CelebraAng the heroes of AIESEC Singapore was an unforgeMable night with spectacular seaside views, fun-‐ﬁlled games, entertainment, complimented with a banquet dinner. The Gala Dinner served as an excellent opportunity for all delegates, alumni and esteemed partners to chat with new friends and dance under the stars network and reconnect under the stars. The Gala Dinner was also a plaaorm for recogniAon of our corporate partners as well as individual members who have performed and excelled in their term.

AIESEC Got Talent This year’s AIESEC Got Talent segment featured star performers and hidden gems within the various local commiMees. Our delegates were highly entertained by the myriad of talents that performed with much gusto. It was a night of rock and roll belAng, acAng, magic tricks and caroling the night away.
