We acknowledge the Turrbal and Jagera Peoples, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our school is located, on a rise above Maiwar, the Brisbane River. They have lived on the shores of Maiwar, the Brisbane River, for millennia, and the river was used as a sustainable resource for food, including many varieties of fish, shellfish and eels. Sites near the river have held significance from an age-old past to the present for meeting, learning and sharing.
We pay our respects to the Turrbal and Jagera Peoples, and respect the love they gave and received from the land, waters and sea.
May we walk gently and respectfully on this land.
Empowering Extraordinary Futures
ALL HALLOWS’ SCHOOL, A MINISTRY OF MERCY PARTNERS, HAS PROUDLY EDUCATED YOUNG WOMEN IN THE CATHOLIC MERCY
TRADITION SINCE ITS ESTABLISHMENT IN
1861.
As we approach our 170th year in 2031, All Hallows’ School holds a significant place in the history of Brisbane and Queensland as the state’s oldest secondary school. Across these decades, we have faithfully served our community by educating young women in a faith-based, holistic tradition, inspiring each student to realise her full potential and embrace the spirit of Mercy.
Our motto, Dieu et Devoir, "God and Duty", continues to guide and define our vibrant community. It calls us to live with compassion and a vision that transcends ourselves, empowering us to nurture new generations of young women prepared to make a meaningful difference in the world.
Guided by Gospel values and the charism of Mercy, and strengthened by a deep sense of service, we aspire to create a community where each individual can thrive.
As custodians of Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy’s vision of faith and learning, we are committed to remaining contemporary and relevant by challenging ourselves to remain true to their legacy
while innovating and adapting in these times of rapid global change.
Our 2026–2030 Strategic Plan anchors us in our heritage, traditions, and values of respect, integrity, service, compassion, joy, and justice. Yet, it must also be flexible enough to serve us as we navigate new complexities, including the impact of technologies, environmental challenges, ongoing economic volatility and a changing geopolitical landscape.
This Strategic Plan is more than a roadmap; it is an invitation to our community to walk together in faith and hope. It builds on the successful foundations of past strategic plans and provides the momentum for purposeful change, ensuring we continue to inspire and empower young women to lead lives of meaning and impact.
As custodians of Catherine McAuley’s vision, we look forward to the next chapter of our shared journey, one filled with faith, purpose, and empowerment. We commend this plan to you as a guide for realising our shared mission, vision, and values in the years ahead.

Mission
All Hallows’ School is a Catholic girls’ school within the educational and spiritual tradition of the Sisters of Mercy. Our inspirations are Jesus Christ, Gospel values and the life and faith of Catherine McAuley. Our community works to engage, nurture and challenge our students within a dynamic and holistic learning environment. We educate young women to embrace their future with confidence and self-knowledge and to make a difference in our world by living Mercy.
OUR Vision
CATHERINE MCAULEY SAID:
We must strive to do ordinary things extraordinarily well.
OUR VISION IS:
To be an extraordinary school that inspires faith, engagement, learning and leadership, empowering all in the spirit of Mercy.
EMPOWERING EXTRAORDINARY FUTURES
OUR
Values
Compassion
Jesus lived the compassion of God in his love for all, particularly those on the margins. We strive to be a community of hope, feeling the suffering of others and responding with generosity, kindness and open hearts.
As people of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12
Integrity
Integrity honours the dignity of each person made in God’s image, fostering authentic and positive relationships. We hope that all members of our school community act with courage and honesty while making principled decisions.
If the love of God really reigns in your heart, it will show itself in the exterior. Catherine McAuley, Retreat Instructions, p145
Joy
Catherine McAuley found joy in the presence of others, strengthening their faith, hope and love and nurturing their awareness of the true sources of joy. As a community, we seek to walk paths of joy and kindness in the knowledge that true happiness is found in the service of others and a spirit of gratitude.
One filled with joy preaches without preaching. St Mother Teresa of Kolkata
Justice
Justice and Mercy are partners. We are called to respond creatively to the world’s needs by protecting creation and respecting the innate dignity of each person. We are compelled to live according to these principles: to work for reconciliation, to promote actions that extend beyond the charitable response, and to challenge societal structures that perpetuate injustice.
The Spirit of God has been given to me to bring good news to the poor, to proclaim liberty to captives, to the blind new sight, and to set the downtrodden free. Luke 4:18
Service
Respect
Christianity holds sacred the dignity of each individual as made in the image of God. We strive to foster an environment where we demonstrate respect for self, others, our school, and all of God’s creation.
We are called to offer God’s love to all, so that unity may be realised—a unity that does not erase differences but values each person’s history and the social and religious culture of every people. Pope Leo XIV, Inaugural Homily, May 18, 2025
Service is at the heart of the Mercy story. It is an act of solidarity with our neighbours and a way of being Christ to others. We are called to a life of love, hospitality and inclusion so as to make a difference in the lives of others.
While we place all our confidence in God, we must act as if all depended on our exertion. Catherine McAuley, Letter to Frances Warde, 24 Nov 1840

REALISING OUR
Strategic Vision
EMPOWERING EXTRAORDINARY FUTURES
OUR 2026 - 2030 STRATEGIC PLAN HAS BEEN DEVELOPED TO GUIDE OUR SCHOOL ON A COURSE FOR CONTINUED SUCCESS.
The School Board, in collaboration with the school’s Leadership Team, has reviewed each pillar, creating defined strategies and measurable outcomes.
From this Strategic Plan, an annual statement of school goals is formulated, including set implementation milestones. This becomes our annual operational plan that details project deliverables associated with each goal.
Being a community that values lifelong learning, we commit to regularly evaluating the success of our approach and transparently communicating our progress.
Our progress will be tracked via regular reporting to the School Board, twice yearly updates to Mercy Partners, and to our community through the Principal’s Annual Report each December.
Blessed with a rich history, treasured traditions, a professional and dedicated staff, a connected, caring community and a magnificently located and resourced campus, All Hallows’ School is well-placed to continue to thrive.
As people of Mercy, guided by the spirit of Jesus Christ and Catherine McAuley’s example of living the Gospel values, we pray for wisdom and energy in the pursuit of our shared goals.
