A música brasileira agradece.

// A long time ago, the verses of Milton Nascimento went around the corner and conquered the world. At 76, however, the singer seems to have renewed his energy and the striking voice – “if God sang it would be with Milton’s voice,” Elis Regina used to say – is more in tune than ever. Fully recovered from a depression that kept him away from the stage, he has toured the country revisiting his greatest hits. He has talked more with the press about his private life, and especially about the love for his son Augusto, and even started composing again. Brazilian music appreciates it. In an exclusive interview to AHEADMag, Milton exudes vitality and joy. “I was never as happy in my career as I am now,” he reveals. For somebody who has been active since 1962, has recorded 40 albums, composed timeless classics, shared the stage with every great name of Brazilian music, won an International Grammy award and is recognized, by fellow artists as well, as one of the greatest composers and singers that Brazil ever heard, that isn’t little. Milton does not get tired of living or singing. The shades he uses to hide his timidity are still there, omnipresent. In his shows, Milton does not address the public a lot, but nobody dares to complain. At the same time, the singer shows a lot of vitality and the will to sing his many hits in all corners of Brazil in the “Semente da Terra” concert. A whole different ballgame from that singer who walked away from the stage due to health problems and that, between 2015 and 2016, only played four concerts.
