Atlanta Grade School Friends is pleased to have secured the Gold Seal since 2022. Founded in 2003, the mission of Atlanta Grade School Friends is to restore the WPA-era Atlanta-Miller Grade School located at 106 ½ West Miller Street in Atlanta, Texas. From 1936 to 1974, the school provided a safe and welcoming environment for Atlanta's children and their dedicated teachers. In addition to renovation of the building and the continued maintenance thereof, Atlanta Grade School Friends oversees the development and management of educational programs and related activities for all ages that enhance the building's usefulness.
Securing a GuideStar seal is a signal to the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors that our organization operates professionally and in a transparent manner. Research finds organizations that elect to be more transparent had stronger performance across a range of governance, financial, and operational dimensions. Nonprofit organizations that earned a Seal from GuideStar also averaged 53% more in contributions the following year than organizations with no Seal.
GuideStar has found that profiles with Gold or Platinum Seals get twice the views as other profiles. In fact, profiles with Gold or Platinum Seals are viewed two times more! A Give.org report shows that a nonprofit’s accomplishments are the number one factor in establishing donor trust. According to the report, the top reasons for inspiring trust are the charity's accomplishments, reputation, and financials.
