Agora Gallery was established by the late Miki Stiles, MFA, to provide opportunities to artists entering the global art market. Ms. Stiles was a visionary who founded the gallery on the principle that all artists benefit from having their artwork promoted by a professional gallery. Located in the heart of the famous Chelsea art district, Agora Gallery occupies the ground floor of 530 West 25th Street. The gallery is frequented by art lovers looking to find and buy original artwork.

Contemporary artist William Atkinson has been active in the art world for over a decade. Atkinson’s work first took the form of street art in Los Angeles, where he worked under the pseudonym ‘Insurgency Inc.’ As his artwork migrated into the gallery setting, the artist began labeling the paintings with his given name, William Atkinson. While the artist continues to utilize elements from street art, such as symbolism and familiar imagery in artworks, his current work focuses predominantly on personal expression rather than an anonymous cultural critique.
Atkinson’s multi-media works combine imagery from his day-to-day life with imagery from pop culture and street art, which are assembled into collaged pieces. Atkinson applies dynamic brush strokes and lines in a gestural mode to contrast the graphic imagery and leaves his makings exposed and unedited. The lack of shading, and inclusion of negative space allows for a focus on both form and symbolism. The diverse range of materials, source imagery, and the artist’s re-contextualization of figures and text prompt all viewers to consider new paths and perspectives of critical thought.

Born in France and educated at Ecole Boulle, Julie Rami’s artistic journey has been shaped by personal experiences and a deep connection to the world of games. Her background working for a board game company infuses her artwork with a distinct sense of playfulness and a desire to break free from societal norms.
Her distinctive “Bokeh” technique in oil paintings is attracting attention and has a dreamlike quality. With influences ranging from Charlie Chaplin to Pop Art, Rami’s work transports viewers into a world where imagination and emotion take center stage.
She captures the essence of human emotion and the imagination of the body, breaking free from conventional boundaries. Rami’s desire is for visitors to her exhibitions to experience a surge of oxygen, enveloped in a sweet-scented atmosphere that elicits a range of emotions.
Antonio Galvan is an artist influenced by abstract art and surrealism, using creative expression to explore emotions, symbolism, and introspective themes.
Based in Ramsey, New Jersey, he creates paintings and sculptures using materials such as bronze, aluminum, glass, ceramics, wood, and resin, blending strength and delicacy in his work.
His creative process is deeply connected—his sculptures inspire his paintings, and his paintings influence his sculptures. Each piece reflects his experimentation and evolves naturally as he works.
Galvan’s journey into art began at the age of 19 when he moved to New York City and started working as an art assistant, despite having no prior experience in the field. This challenge sparked a passion for art that has shaped his career and driven his ongoing exploration.
His work draws from European and Latin American contemporary influences, blending cultural symbols and social themes into a unique visual style that resonates across borders.
Galvan showcased his work at Art Basel in 2019 and has continued to expand his audience and influence. His art explores themes of identity, transformation, and the relationship between materials and emotions, creating pieces that are both impactful and thought-provoking.
Background,
French painter Garese is a traditionally trained artist with an impressive background and education in the fine arts. She studied at Les Beaux-arts de Bordeaux, then at ICART in Paris. She trained in both the traditional and decorative arts, which gives her the unique ability to draw in techniques from both disciplines. The combination of these two different approaches to art can be seen in her elegant handling of light and color to model the subjects of her paintings. Her work is a coherent thread between the world of today and the previous world, and could most aptly be described as “timeless.”
Working exclusively in oil on linen, Garese creates paintings featuring portraiture, landscapes, and still-life work. She sources inspiration from the Old Masters, and specifically the artists John Singer Sargent, Henri Fantin-Latour, Joaquin Sorolla, and Gustav Klimt, as well as American Cinema from the 1950’s and 1960’s. She employs painting techniques from historical traditions among the decorative arts, including trompe l’oeil and other decorative techniques. She skillfully juxtaposes these historical techniques with abstract elements, resulting in visually captivating and uniquely contemporary pieces. In doing this, she endeavors to bring new eyes to discover novel aspects of art and the world, which are too often forgotten among contemporary works today. Her portraits are archetypal, the light is delicate, and the costumes are very detailed. In the same vein, her still lifes and landscapes capture a serenity that is intended to contrast the fast paced, overcrowded world of today.
Alli Gerrish is a multimedia artist based in Boulder, Colorado. Over the past two decades, Gerrish’s extensive body of work has spanned painting, digital painting, prints, video, and narrative voiceover. Drawing inspiration from modern masters such as Elaine DeKooning and Cy Twombly, as well as contemporary icons like Amy Sillman and Terry Winters, Gerrish’s art articulates the multifaceted process of metamorphosis and transformation. Her work serves as a dynamic journal, translating energy and encoding iconography into abstract compositions of what Gerrish terms ‘artimation.’ Utilizing simple geometric shapes, soft patterns, and delicate tones, her work evokes a sense of relaxation and comfort. Stripes, circles, and ellipses gently connect and intertwine, creating a serene visual experience. A recurring motif in her paintings is the hourglass shape, symbolizing the artist herself. This decidedly feminine form represents the transformation of personal and societal vulnerabilities into visions of a brighter future dominated by joy and positivity. Gerrish’s unique creative process combines personal narrative with visual storytelling, showcasing the ongoing evolution of her artistic expression.

Inspired by the hues and movement of light, artist Holly Grosvenor studies and captures the luminosity of her natural environments. Grosvenor creates her work both on-site and in the studio, as she selects and magnifies fragments of natural settings to translate in oil and acrylics on her canvases. Her work is a response to her personal experiences in the natural realm, as she creates multiple plein air observation sketches in watercolor on site, as well as detailed photographs of the space, and returns to her studio to recreate these environments in oils and more recently, acrylics. Acrylics as a medium allowed Grosvenor to delve more deeply into the behavior of reflection and translucency on water and reflective surfaces, as it granted her more time to develop each painting and emphasize the details of the natural phenomena.
One of the most captivating elements in Grosvenor’s paintings is the sense of space and dimensionality she is able to create within the frame of her canvas. The special quality in her compositions invites her audiences to enter the painting and engage with her narrative and with the environment. Grosvenor’s special awareness could be influenced by her training in as an architect. “I attempt to capture the casual observation; to hold a passing moment of uncelebrated beauty in reflected light and changing color. I find profound pleasure in sketching on site surrounded by the rich colors of the natural environment.
Grosvenor has a B.A. in Environmental Design from Brown University and an M.A. in Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design. She won Best in Show in the 2021 Water Media Spring Juried Show from the Oregon Society of Artists and first place in the Portland Rose Festival Art Show. Her exhibitions include Aqua Art Miami (Miami, FL), the Providence Art Club (Providence, RI), the Oregon Society of Artists (Portland, OR), the Portland Rose Festival (Portland, OR), and the Spring Bull Gallery (Newport, RI). She has been a practicing architect for forty years. Now retired from the profession, she lives and paints in western Massachusetts.

Ghostly figures drifting along a sidewalk, empty corridors, quiet roads, and faded Americana— Evan William Plunkett’s photographs transform these ordinary or abandoned spaces into scenes that feel suspended in time.
Defined by a cinematic, dreamlike aesthetic, his work blurs the boundaries between memory, reality, and imagination. Working with long exposures, light, and intentional camera movement, Plunkett has developed a distinctive style he calls photo impressionism, capturing the atmosphere of a place rather than its literal form.
Influenced by film and storytelling, he creates visual narratives that evoke presence and absence, illustrating what he describes as “the fluidity and essence of the perpetual movement of time.”
Based in Putney, Vermont, Plunkett grew up in New Jersey, Connecticut, Texas, and Massachusetts, and studied Political Science at the University of Miami. His work has been featured in juried exhibitions, publications, and on the cover of SHOTS magazine and is held in numerous private collections.
He has published three monographs: Statements in Passing (2017), Landscapes (2019), and First Impressions (2023).
Alongside his artistic practice, Plunkett is a social justice and environmental advocate, serving on the board of the Doris Wilderness Foundation, Inc., an NGO dedicated to preserving and rewilding critical ecosystems.

Journeying around the world has ignited artist Mark Schiff’s creativity, which he reveals through his watercolor, acrylic, and oil compositions. “Traveling reminds me that I am part of a vast universe filled with extraordinary places and interesting people,” he says. “The adventure of travel gives me an expansive sense of freedom that often becomes the inspiration for many of my paintings.” His travels have taken him to diverse locations, and he explains that each journey heightens his capacity to embrace a wide spectrum of emotions that serve his creative process.
Heavily influenced by his interest in culture, music, and yoga, Schiff’s ability to be guided by intuition opens him to what he refers to as, “the ocean of creativity within.” It is from this place that he paints with bold, deliberate strokes creating eye-catching paintings that sizzle with energy and command the viewers’ attention.
Above all, Mark Schiff is a believer in the solidarity of humanity. After hearing his father’s experiences during WWII, Schiff was moved by the plight of war, its effect on people, and man’s inhumanity to man. “These stories inspired me to paint as a way to simply bring more beauty into our troubled world.”
