Class of 2025: From Foundation to the Future
Emma
She Chose: The U.S. Naval Academy
Intended Major: Political Science
(recruited athlete for Division I lacrosse)
“Agnes Irwin might not seem like the typical feeder school for a service academy. However, with its structure, long-standing traditions, and rigorous daily schedule packed with academics, athletics, and other extracurriculars, it uniquely shapes students. From developing critical thinking skills to promoting a sense of connection and honor, AIS prepares you for anything.”
Laura
She Chose: University of Virginia
Intended Major: Biomedical Engineering
“Agnes Irwin nurtures academic passions. There are many electives, so I was able to explore my interests in anatomy, physiology, and engineering and those classes shaped my academic path to pursue biomedical engineering in college. Only 33% of the students in my intended major are female, but I am excited for the challenge. I feel ready.”
Rachel
She Chose: University of Chicago
Intended Major: Economics
“I developed effective communication skills, especially in my leadership positions. Through robotics and the newspaper, I’ve learned how to lead with transparency, involve others in decision-making, and work independently without relying heavily on faculty. I love that Agnes Irwin makes STEM and robotics feel like a place where everyone belongs.”
Audrey
She Chose: Georgetown University
Intended Major: Global Health (recruited athlete for Division I squash)
“My time at Agnes Irwin made me more confident as both an athlete and student. Being part of this tight-knit community allowed me to use my voice and develop strong relationships with my teachers and coaches. I feel comfortable sharing challenges, celebrating successes, and seeking support when needed.”
Margot
She Chose: University of St Andrews (SCT)
Intended Major: Biology
“As a Kindergartener, was quiet and introspective. Agnes Irwin’s positive environment helped me grow. My SSP to Germany, Czech Republic, and Poland sparked my interest in attending an international university. was looking for strong academics in Biology and a diverse, global community. The great confidence gained from leadership opportunities at Agnes Irwin prepared me for the academic adventure ahead.”
Yamen
She Chose: University of Notre Dame
Intended Major: Aerospace Engineering
“At Agnes Irwin, you’re given the opportunity to make choices, but there’s room to fail, and room to try again. It’s a place where you can be honest about your goals, and where working hard is something to be proud of. The strong writing skills I learned in the Agnes Irwin Middle School are still my foundation as I head into college!”
