Everyone is not privileged to genuinely sing the song, “May the Works I’ve Done Speak for Me” and resonate that they have lived the life accordingly. Nonetheless, one of Houston’s own is definitely worthy of the praises that this song yields. Johnny A. Tates is a powerful preaching and teaching machine, and one that has made full proof of the ministry for nearly 40 years. Evidently, his loyalty and commitment to the faith has been acknowledged and recognized. Thus this man of integrity and nobility was recently appointed to the office of Bishop in the Church of God in Christ faith. As Donald Trump fills his cabinet with swamp drainage, many of us sane Americans are finally coming to grips with the reality that it really is a White man’s world. That within itself is nothing to boast about; it only exemplifies the simple fact that millions of Americans see perversion, homophobia, bullying, sexism, and racism as “normal” occurrences in everyday life. This was highlighted by the election of THE White man in a White man’s world, the president-elect Trumpster himself. I got to give it to Mr. Trump, he had an excellent plan and campaign strategy. He focused on the very things that much of white America was angry about and used it to drag even the most illiterate voters from under rocks and bushes to vote for him. The conscience of “his” United States was exposed on a scale not seen in American politics since the post Reconstruction Era and reminiscent of the “Red Scare” tactics of McCarthyism in the 1950s. Gotta give the man credit, he went after and got what he wanted despite a popular vote tally having him being defeated by Hilary Clinton by over 2 million votes.
