LOOK AT WHAT THE RAIN EXPOSED:
In many ways, the recent flooding crisis that placed several Houston areas under unbelievable amounts of water was an enormous opportunity for all Houstonians as well as surrounding counties to come together and fight-back against Mother Nature’s torrential rains. Were I not sitting in Houston myself, I could have been convinced that I had somehow been transported back to August 29th, 2005, the infamous day that Hurricane Katrina not only threatened a hellish attack, but also delivered upon the threat in an unprecedented manner. Every news station transmitted pictures of huge portions of the Bayou City drowning under water. As of yesterday evening, Houston Intercontinental Airport, which sits a stone’s throw away from the Greenspoint Area, reported that it was the wettest day Houston had seen in the month of April since 1976 with 9.91 inches of rainfall. The seemingly never-ending rain reminded many residents of Tropical Storm Allison who dumped an unconscionable amount of rain on the Bayou City nearly 15 years ago. According to John Warton, “This is exactly like Allison. Just water any and everywhere. Just a shame.”
