For the last quarter of a century, National Action Network (NAN) and I have championed and advocated on behalf of many victims of racial violence and misconduct at the hands of police. From Rodney King in L.A. in the 1990’s, to the marches we organized for Eric Garner in Staten Island, to eulogizing and rallying on behalf of young Michael Brown in Ferguson, we have worked tirelessly in this area.

Along with pushing for things like access to health care for all and corporate accountability, police reform has been a fundamental focus of the work that we do. But in all those years, I’ve never seen a situation that will force a national election to deal with policing as I do now at this very moment.

I

must admit that it is often very difficult to explain to some of my people why race is an inextricable tie that binds us ALL together regardless of our individual uniqueness. This inextricable connection was sewn in the hulls of slave ships, the platforms of slave markets and the daily existence that our ancestors experienced.

This original tie that binds us together is particularly disturbing for many educated Black folk who it seems to me are more frequently blaming the victims of racism for its existence.

They desperately seek to untie this permanent tie that could be more appropriately termed an eternal

knot. If they were present during the moment, the alluded to individuals would take issue with Malcolm X’s admonishment during his Message to the Grassroots that “You don’t catch hell ’cause you’re a Baptist, and you don’t catch hell ’cause you’re a Methodist. You don’t catch hell ’cause you’re a Methodist or Baptist. You don’t catch hell because you’re a Democrat or a Republican. You don’t catch hell because you’re a Mason or an Elk.” Such ‘formally educated’ Negroes fail to realize that the aforementioned ‘tie that binds’ was neither created nor maintained by African-Americans; it is the White community that they so desperately seek to assimilate into that has resisted their matriculation by maintaining the vibrancy of race in America. The aforementioned optimism regarding racial reconciliation that ‘educated’ Negroes steadfastly hold onto is devoid of any evidence.

In fact, mountainous evidence high-

lights that race will continue unabated as the primary obstacle in AfricanAmerican lives.

So often we seem to forget the anonymity that unfamiliarity provides; meaning, that when you interact with people who do not know you personally they tend to treat you according to their understanding of what ‘your people’ are like and by extension provide to you the type of respect that they believe ‘people like you’ deserve.

For the vast majority of Americans, interacting with strangers can be a pleasant experience; unfortunately, for me, and the vast majority of African-American males, such meetings are rarely enjoyable. The absence of joy is generally caused by the stranger in front of us attempting to ‘size us up’, an evaluation process that invariably leads them to ascribing every negative stereotype and prejudicial thought that their brains can create.

The citizens of Cleveland, and Ohio for that matter, were reminded of the case of Tamir Rice, a 12-yearold boy who was shot and killed by police while playing with a toy gun (his mother has marched with NAN in Washington, D.C. and New York).

Half a year after Rice’s death, the case is still under investigation.

Incidents like this and acquittals like Brelo’s are simply inexcusable.

The NAACP, faith leaders and others have all publicly called for me to lead efforts going forward to say that protests must be nonviolent and geared towards reconciliation, but with the goal of real change.

Ohio has always played a significant role in elections. It is a critical state that must be won by Republicans in order to win the White House next year. The Governor of Ohio has all

For example, this morning I decided to get up and go for a nice brisk walk around the integrated neighborhood that I just moved into two months ago. Although the walk was relatively enjoyable and allowed me to clear my head regarding some matters, it took a familiar turn as I walked up the street I reside. As Yogi Berra once remarked, it was déjà vu all over again as a Sheriff’s Deputy began stalking me. The Sheriff’s Deputy rode alongside of me talking into his walkie-talkie, an activity that did not cease when one of my neighbors passed me and waved. The Sheriff Deputy followed me stepby-step to the end of the cul-de-sac where I reside. In fact, it was only the fact that the street curved that forced the officer to stop following me in the previously described manner.

As I headed up my driveway, he

simply stopped and observed me until I opened my front door. Even my entrance into my home did not cause him to leave. He sat in front of my residence for several moments, staring at me as I looked back at him through the window of my office.

There is little doubt that the Sheriff’s Deputy assigned to me a variety of prejudicial thoughts and stereotypes on sight. Never for a moment did he think that I could be an educated African-American male who is a father who loves his son to no end, has earned four graduate degrees from The Ohio State University, including a Ph. D., loves theater, art, music of all kinds from Jazz to Hip-Hop, and took that morning walk to rejuvenate prior to finishing edits on my second book. None of that mattered because of the tie that Whites created centuries ago and are steadfastly committed to ensuring that it never unravels.

ted officer Michael Brelo for his role in the 2012 fatal shooting of an unarmed Black male and female in a car in Cleveland (about a dozen officers fired a total of 137 rounds at the car), protests immediately broke out.

As the city of Cleveland and the state of Ohio grapple with how to proceed forward, it’s important to remember that this precise area of the nation is the site of the 2016 Republican National Convention. Translation: GOP candidates will actually have to deal with policing as an issue.

The Justice Department has reached an unprecedented settlement with Cleveland over what they said was a pattern of unconstitutional policing and excessive use of force.

In fact, the Department began its investigation into Cleveland police just a few months after the 2012 shooting for which officer Brelo was

but announced that he’s running for the presidency, and again, Cleveland is the site of the GOP convention next year. These three facts alone mean that Republicans can no longer stay silent on policing issues even though they largely ignored Ferguson, Staten Island, Baltimore and more.

When they come to Cleveland to convene, they will be coming to a city and a state under high mobilization around this issue. They cannot choreograph a convention in a city that the Justice Department just cited, and they cannot choreograph a convention in a state with such graphic cases of police brutality.

They simply cannot win Ohio without dealing with police misconduct in that state from the killing of John Crawford, III in a Walmart store, to Tanisha Anderson who died while in police custody (her death was ruled a homicide), and all the way up

“It’s not what you know, it’s who you know”…

Before I Lay it Down...

A

college education is a valuable (and costly) experience. We have been told all of our lives that if you went to school, graduated with at least one degree, and prayed very hard, life would reward us with the job of our dreams and lead us towards a path of retirement worthy of a happy movie ending.

Many of us believed the hype, working countless hours in different environments for folk who are less qualified than us, but who have an unfair advantage of “knowing” all of the right people.

We don’t like to talk about it, but it’s true: “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know”. I’ve known a lot of smart people in my lifetime; a lot of brilliant minds. I’ve seen those same people frustrated at the fact that they are constantly passed over for promotions and/or raises in favor of others who are lesstalented or educated.

For you historians who can recall “the spoils system” of the Reconstruction Era (the period immediately following the Civil War), you can also note how people given jobs they were not qualified for nearly destroyed all of the gains that Union had so gallantly fought for in the war between the states.

Northern politicians gave government jobs to family members, friends and other acquaintances who didn’t know what the hell they were doing and it nearly shut down the nation.

Thank God for the Progressive Era reforms that

changed all of that. But, it didn’t eliminate it entirely. It still happens today.

Black men have always had to work twice as hard as White men for the same ounce of equality.

Twice as hard. So have women.

All women. It’s just the way it has been; it’s just the way it is.

There’s no need to beat a dead horse.

I can go on and on about the injustices of a racist society and how unlevel the “playing field” has been since my African ancestors were brought over here during the Middle Passage, but the fact remains the same: favoritism still exists in all facets of society.

It’s not totally a “Black thang” or an all-out assault on Black males.

Other races/sexes/ethnicities face the same problems. But it’s most prominent amongst us. That’s not up for debate.

So, what do we do? - “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know” has crept in among Black people, too. It’s one of the things we’ve learned too well from our “massas” of old. Therefore, I have a tendency to believe that it’s just a part of our existence. It won’t matter how many degrees you obtain or how much knowledge you possess, if the person whom you refer to as yo “boss” decides to choose someone for an advancement over you, the only thing you can do is accept it or find another job. Now, this is where having a degree or certain skill level can set you apart.

It’s always good to be equipped to have options. Don’t be afraid to move around and find other people/jobs who value what you know or what you can do.

You’re not bound to stay there.

We ain’t slaves no mo. You might even try to find somebody “who you know” who can give you the opportunities you desire. But, then again, that ain’t fair. Or is it?

Please Do Not Forget Our History! Forgetting What Happened to Us Can Destroy Us! - Roy Douglas Malonson

We Have to Protect Our History!

T

here is a serious history of what we have done as African-Americans as far as building the structure of these United States. Just about the whole foundation of this country was done by the backs of African-Americans. At the Acres Home Chamber for Business and Economic Development Monthly Networking Luncheon this month the Executive Director for Texas Parks and Wildlife, Carter Smith, was the speaker of the afternoon. His message reminded me of an editorial that I wrote about just a few editions ago which included Houston’s, Memorial Park.

This park is under review right now. The city is going to spend millions and millions of dollars, or at least they are planning to in order to rebuild the park.

We need to make sure as AfricanAmericans that our history is protected in this park.

We MUST Understand that when you name something after a, “memorial”, that means that it’s in memory of something or someone. Well this park is in memory of Black soldiers and the park was originally Camp Logan.

It was the place where they hung and killed and they were disrespected after coming back from war. The sad part about it is that the only memory that they have that even remotely reverences the Black soldier that lost their lives is a small little bench.

This is why I am stressing to the members of our community, that we really need to make sure that our history and heritage is protected. There may even be some readers that are reading this editorial, which may not even realize that some of those soldiers that were killed during that era or ancestors of those.

These types of memorials and monuments are extremely instrumental in knowing who we are and where we come from. I

often state that if you don’t know where you come from then you don’t know where you are going.

Addressing the readers of African-American News & Issues, we need to make sure that our voices are heard. There needs to be a good memory that honors the African-American soldiers who went off to war and were disrespected while fighting for us. There were too many Black folks with too many guns, so they disrespected and disarmed them; and when they hollered out they had them all court marshal and hung, I’m not making this up, go and read your history. I may be breaking it down in my own language but I am not lying about the facts. So once again, I state we need to make sure that we protect our history.

We MUST Understand, that the reason why some of us don’t know anything about our history is because we as a people don’t want to hear nothing negative.

Flip on the media, and turn on channel 2 or whatever and it’s nothing but negative images that are displayed. Blacks do this and Black do that, this is the image that is portrayed.

We as a people are our own worst enemies, because we believe those negative things about us. Rather than some of us researching and finding out who we are, we chose to allow media tell and depict to us who we are.

Every history is an important history. Everybody that is here helps to diversify this country.

Every culture that is here in these United States has contributed something to it. However, there is no culture that is here now or in times past that has paid the price that African-Americans have. I do not state this lightly because our forefathers and ancestors paid a mighty steep price for Americans to enjoy so many of the luxuries that they enjoy today.

by Black people and then some people have the audacity to be offended because there is a Black man in the White House. Some even say, “it’s unconstitutional”!

Then on the other hand, it depends on who you ask. Because I remember in 1963, when I was a teenager that I saw an image in a newspaper and I never forgot it. In fact, it bothered me so that I took it and framed it. On it, it read that, “Congress was still debating whether Negroes were individuals or property.” This was during the time that the Civil Rights movement was at its peak.

Eventually a bill was passed, but for the most part it was still unconstitutional in a sense because a bill had to be passed in order to change the realm of the law.

Concluding, I would just like to state the words of Marcus Garvey. He said, “Not all Black men are willing to commit race suicide and to abhor their race for the companionship of another.

There are hundreds of millions of us Black men who are proud of our skins, and to us the African Empire will not be a Utopia, neither will it be dangerous, nor fail to serve our best interests, because we realize that, like the leopard, we cannot change our skins, and so long as Black is Black, and White is White, the Black man shall occupy a position of inferiority depending upon the justice of the great White race to lead and direct him. No race in the world is so just as to give to others a square deal in things economical, political, social and otherwise. “ So with that being stated, let us protect our history. After all, if we don’t who else will?

HOUSTON – Recently, the Acres Home Chamber for Business and Economic Development held its June, Monthly Networking Luncheon. Pastor Edwin Davis of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church led the opening prayer of the afternoon. Following, Chairman Roy Douglas Malonson welcomed all attendees and began the event off with a raffle drawing where various door prizes were awarded to unexpected guests.

Amongst the raffle drawing winnings was: a HEB gift card, Texas Parks and Wildlife hats and shirts, Juneteenth coffee mugs and cups, deer sausage and other treats. Pastor Joseph Baker of the Guiding Light Missionary Baptist Church, then passed the microphone around the room so that each attendant was able to introduce themselves as well as their perspective organization, business, ministry, company, and/or

department.

Once everyone gave their introductions Director of the AHCBED, Dr. Lason Hines invited Ms. Rita Wallace to come forward to explain an initiative that the Texas Plus Champion Program is in the process of implementing.

Currently, Texas Plus Champion has an entry in effect where people can nominate a person within the community that does a lot for senior citizens. The winner will get a chance to donate a gift of $25,000 to their selected non-profit organization. Ms. Wallace asked attendees to participate.

Afterwards, Dr. Hines proceeded to thank all of the first responders that were present. She acknowledged each of them by presenting them with a certificate to honor their hard work and dedication to the community.

for lunch which was catered by Hartz Chicken located on Pinemont in the heart of Acres Homes. While lining up for lunch, much networking was done by all that were present. After everyone was seated, Mr. Albert Myers introduced the speaker of the luncheon, Mr. Carter Smith.

Carter Smith is the Executive Director for Texas Parks and Wildlife Development, a position he has fulfilled since 2008. He is a native of Central Texas who developed a passion for wildlife and the outdoors at an early age.

His family owned a farm and had ranch land interests in Gonzales, Williamson and Edwards Counties. So Carter is no stranger to the outdoors.

He is equipped with a Wildlife Management degree from Texas Tech University and he earned a Master’s degree in Conservation Biology from Yale

University. He has performed a wide range of projects as it relates to his career in the field of being a Wildlife biologist.

As Mr. Smith approached the podium he introduced members of his staff and recognized those who were responsible for his presence as a speaker. He immediately, informed the gallery that, “We Work for You!” He explained various departments and divisions of Texas Parks and Wildlife and took listeners back on the Texas Parks and Wildlife Development voyage which started nearly three centuries ago.

The U.S. job market may be showing signs of picking up, even after some rough times earlier this year. The Labor Department recently reported that employers added 280,000 jobs in May, and the unemployment rate ticked up to 5.5 percent, up from 5.4 percent in April. Wages also rose a bit more than expected last month.

What does all of this mean for employers? If May’s numbers turn into a trend, the labor pool is at risk of shrinking as wages accelerate. Employers should take a strategic view of this trend and implement some proactive measures that will position them for profitable growth.

Consider these five strategies: 1. Get strategic about recruiting I think we can all agree that it has become increasingly difficult to find qualified workers — and this challenge spans from white-collar to blue-collar segments of the economy.

As a result, employers need to hone their recruiting process to ensure they are finding and attracting top talent with a focus on quality over quantity of applicants.

2. Leverage social media The days of simply posting jobs on a job board and hoping for an influx of job candidates are long gone.

Leveraging social media is

crucial in finding prospective employees, especially if the employer has a strong presence on Linked In, Facebook and Twitter.

3. Utilize employee referrals Another proven method of sourcing high-quality candidates is the use of an employee referral program.

No one is more qualified to refer employees to a company than their current employees. Offering a financial incentive that is paid to the referrer after the probationary employment period ends is a best practice and aligns goals.

4. Measure up to competitors In this period of potential wage inflation, employers should conduct a salary survey to provide an accurate benchmark of the market compared to the company’s current salaries.

Salary, while important, is just one aspect of what makes a company an attractive place to work.

Candidates will also evaluate the company’s contribution to employee benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance and 401(k).

Providing a candidate with an offer that includes total compensation (salary, incentive/bonus and employer insurance contributions) is a good practice that will clearly illustrate the employer’s complete financial commitment to the candidate.

5. Keep employees happy The most important area of focus for an employer is to foster a work environment that promotes employee engagement and career satisfaction.

Citizen-Soldiers and Airmen with Texas Military Forces have began conducting annual training in various cities across Texas, AUSTIN - The annual training by the Texas Army and Air National Guard and the Texas State Guard is designed to give military commanders the opportunity to take their staff and units to the field to hone service members’ proficiency and maintain a high level of mission readiness. Additionally, annual training conducted in a joint environment with local and state agencies enables the Texas Military Forces to test its ability to react and help improve communication and coordination with its civilian partners.

“This designated training will put a lot of service members on Texas roads and highways as they convoy to and from training,” said Texas Adjutant General Maj. Gen. John F. Nichols. “We ask our fellow Texans to take care in passing these convoys and even single military vehicles on our roads. Please be aware that our equipment has the same blind spots and longer stopping distances common to all large trucks and give them a little extra space.”

Over the last ten years, the Texas Military Forces has trained and mobilized over 30,000 Soldiers across the state of Texas in support of combat operations and natural disaster relief. Abbott signs bill Allowing Epilepsy Patients to use oil Derived From Pot AUSTIN - Surrounded by Texans who suffer from serious seizures, Gov. Greg Abbott signed into legislation recently a bill to allow them and other patients to treat their conditions with oil derived from marijuana.

“A law that will help these children is now in effect,” Abbott said, holding up the paper he had just signed, before turning to Zachariah Moccia, a 25-year-old San Antonio man with a rare genetic form of epilepsy, who had helped push the bill.

“Congratulations.”

The governor, who noted that 150,000 people in Texas suffer from intractable seizures, also showed off a purple necklace Moccia had given him -- representing the color of epilepsy awareness. The passage of the narrow bill marked the first time that Texas had relaxed penalties for a pot-related substance, although Abbott emphasized his opposition to any broader medical marijuana legalization or decriminalization of the plant for recreational usage.

The legislation, Senate Bill 339, sponsored by Sen. Kevin Eltife, R-Tyler, and Rep. Stephanie Klick, R-Fort Worth, would include strict parameters that would only allow the usage of cannabidiol oil containing a very small amount of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, and only when prescribed by a doctor, after more conventional methods have failed. Families of epilepsy patients had pushed strongly for the legislation, although some said it was too strict to be very effective.

Congress wraps up Sen. John Cornyn’s Anti-Trafficking Bill AUSTIN - After months of drama and delay, Texas U.S. Sen. John Cornyn’s Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act was signed by House Speaker John Boehner, sending the anti-human trafficking bill to the desk of President Barack Obama.

The Capitol signing ceremony was attended by a bipartisan group of House and Senate leaders, a testament to the broad support for the measure that boosts law enforcement resources and targets criminals of the human trafficking trade.

“In a time of seemingly endless partisan gridlock there is one thing we can all agree on: our children are not for sale,” said Humble Republican Ted Poe, the House sponsor of the bill. The bill passed 420-3 in the House and 99-0 in the Senate.

But the lopsided votes belied the tortuous political machinations it took to pass the bill, which fell prey to differences over abortion provisions in a fund designed to help victims of human sex trafficking.

Negotiations over the bill also held up the eventual confirmation of U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch, the first African-American woman to lead the Justice Department. The deal represented a long-sought legislative victory for Cornyn, now five months into his tenure as Republican whip, the No. 2 spot in the Senate GOP leadership.

It also helps put behind him a period of political brinkmanship that he and other GOP leaders had vowed to end.

“This legislation sends a loud message to the victims of human trafficking and the predators who exploit them that members of both parties take this issue seriously,” Cornyn said. Among the other Texans who championed the bill were Poe and Houston Democrat Sheila Jackson Lee. Both attended the signing ceremony.

Judge rejects challenge of results in Dallas City Council race DALLAS - A judge threw out an election challenge that claimed voting machines were rigged in the May 9 Dallas City Council election. The ruling clears the way for a June 13 runoff between Erik Wilson and Dianne Gibson in District 8 in southern Dallas.

State District Judge Jill Willis, in denying the challenge, ruled that there was no evidence votes had been cast or counted improperly in District 8. Willis issued her order after hearing from witnesses who mostly spoke about one man who claimed his voting machine did not show all the candidates. The challenge was filed by Subrina Brenham and Eric Williams, two of the losing candidates in the May 9 general election. Six people sought the District 8 seat being vacated by Tennell Atkins, who could not seek re-election because of term limits. Gibson and Wilson finished first and second, with 32 percent and 26 percent of the vote, respectively. They are in a runoff because neither got a majority of the votes cast. Brenham and Williams were never close to making the runoff. Brenham got about 8 percent, Williams about 5 percent.

Nonetheless, they sued Gibson, Wilson, Dallas County and the city after one voter told Williams he had seen only three names on his electronic ballot — the two mayoral candidates and Wilson.

The voter, Jerry Brown, testified that he complained about his ballot to an election judge at his polling place, but said he couldn’t remember the election judge’s name. He acknowledged that he didn’t complain to the Dallas County Elections Department until almost two weeks after he voted.

od doesn't change His religion; God doesn't change His mind; God's mind is made up from the beginning. He doesn't have to change His mind because He knows all there is to know all the way down the wheel of time. He never has to change His mind, His mind is made up, His knowledge is complete, all encompassing.

Do you understand? So once you can see, and I think you can, then it's almost impossible for God to call Christianity His religion.

What should God call His religion? Christians are the ones who call God's religion Christianity, but God was here before Christians came on the scene. They tell you that Christians began back there with the Romans, with one of the Roman Emperors who accepted the teachings of some of Jesus' disciples and then named what the disciples taught "Christianity." But Jesus didn't call it Christianity, it wasn't named until two or three hundred years after Jesus was dead. Right or wrong?

Any history book will tell this, any theologian knows this, and the only Negroes who will contend this are those who don't know history, and most Negroes don't know history.

Most Negroes will contend this, but when you tell it to the White man he shuts his mouth because he knows that this is

true.

Then those who have studied a little deeper will say, "Before God called it Christianity it was called Judaism" -- isn't this what they say? Named after a man called Judah. This doesn't follow logically. If Christianity was named after Christ was born, and before Christ was born the religion was called Judaism, then that means that it got its name from a son of Jacob whose name was Judah. But history tells us that Jacob was bending down before Judah was born, which shows us that Jacob's religion couldn't have been Judaism, and Isaac was Jacob's father and he was bending down also before Jacob, his son, was born.

Isaac was Judah's grandfather and Abraham was Judah's great-grandfather, meaning that Abraham was on the scene long before Judah, and you couldn't call Abraham's religion Judaism because there was no such thing as Judaism in Abraham's day.

There was no such thing as Judaism in Isaac's day, or in Jacob's day. Do you understand? So what was God's religion before they called it Judaism? This is something that the White man has never taught you and me. The White man is afraid to let you and me know what God's religion was called in Abraham's day because Abraham is supposed to have been the father of all of them. He is supposed to have been one of God's ďŹ rst servants. One of the ďŹ rst to submit to God is supposed to have been Abraham. Now if you can see this, then ďŹ nd out what Abraham's religion was.

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad teaches us that Abraham's religion was the religion of Islam. Islam only means complete submission to God, complete obedience to God. Abraham obeyed God. Abraham obeyed God so

much so that when God told Abraham to take his son and sacriďŹ ce him -- stick a dagger in his heart, isn't that what he said? -- Abraham took his only son up on the mountain. He was going to sacriďŹ ce him to God, showing that he believed in Islam. What does Islam mean? Obey God. Submit to God. So that this name [writes "Islam"], if you'll notice, has no connection, no association, with the death of a man.

This is not a man's name, this doesn't come from a man. Buddhism is named after a man called Buddha; Confucianism is named after a man called Confucius -- right or wrong? Likewise with Judaism and Christianity. But Islam is not connected with any name. Islam is independent of any name. Islam is an act which means submit completely to God, or obey God. And when you say your religion is Islam that means you're a Muslim. So to clarify this what must you do? You must have a knowledge of history.

If you don't have a knowledge of history you'll run around calling yourself a Christian when you're serving God, or you'll run around saying your religion is Judaism and you'll swear you're serving God. If your religion is Christianity you're following Christ, if your religion is Judaism you're following Judah, if your religion is Buddhism you're religion is Buddhism you're following Buddha, do you understand?

And they are all dead, and if you follow them you'll die too. This is where it all leads you. Wherever your leaders go, that's what happens to you. Now we who follow The Honorable Elijah Muhammad, we believe in Islam, we don't believe in Muhammad.

HOUSTON - Recently, the Faith Christ Ministry Connection under the dynamic leadership of Pastor Robert L. Bell, Sr. held its Mission services. The theme of the day was “Unity in the Body of Christ”, according to Romans 12:4-6.

Sis. Alice Joubert, the Mission Department Chairperson served as the Mistress of Ceremony. The services started out with an opening selection that set the tone for a praise-filled worship experience.

Sis. Rebecca Jones-Moran briefly spoke on, “Unity in the Body of Christ”. She encouraged members to not seek after division and discord but, rather exemplify unity so that the saved and unchurched may see the light of Christ within them.

in the person of, Pastor Brian L. Moran. Pastor Moran delivered a powerful and anointed message to the body of Christ entitled, “One”! He used as a reference text, Ephesians 4:4, “There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling”.

He expounded on how the saints and believers of God are to effectively demonstrate a stance representative of, “One Lord, One Faith and One Baptism”. Afterwards, holding true to the profession upon which he was called, he switched to a different gear and headed towards

a hill called Calvary and preached the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Synonymous with the ‘Great Commission’ established by Christ himself, the program reached its intended mark; as three souls united with the FCMC family, Pastor and Sis. Brian Moran and Bro. James Hayes.

Overall, the program proved to be a success as members and guests gathered around with smiling faces fellowshipping and showing Christian love from one to the other.
