The most reviled slaveowners were the most fervent Christians. When you go to a church and it preaches that you are to worship those who do NOT look like you, then you are a fool and a slave. You cannot be made in Gods image when you are Black haired, brown eyed, thick lips and broad nose if God has yellow hair, blue eyes and thin features. Roberta Scott: Safety Solutions Specialist Harris County Department of Education’s Center for Safe and Secure Schools has appointed Roberta Scott to a new position as safety solutions specialist. The center was formed in 1999 by HCDE at the request of local superintendents to provide increased safety and security strategies in school environments for students and educators. Scott’s tenured experience in education will enhance the center’s ability to serve area school districts with increased safety and security strategies, said Center for Safe and Secure Schools Director Ecomet Burley.

Carl Davis a member of Wesley AME Church in Houston was elected as a member to the AME Church General Board at the 50th Quadrennial Session of the General Conference and Bicentennial Celebration in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, July 6-13, 2016 with over 30,000 attendees. This year marks the 200 anniversary of the AME Church which was founded in 1787 in Philadelphia by Bishop Richard Allen and incorporated in 1816.
