From trauma to turmoil — to Jesus!

Susan of South Sudan has experienced a lot of trauma in her 24 years — war, poverty and unimaginable degradation.

“My childhood was especially difficult in the rural village where I grew up,” she said.

Believing a big city was a better place to live, Susan worked very hard in primary school to secure a place in the city for secondary school.

Life in the city brings a different kind of trauma

“It was a shock to me when I first came to Juba city to join

secondary school,” she said.

“The extreme poverty in the city traumatized me,” she said. “My relatives, whom I lived with, struggled financially. We could hardly get food and other basic needs. But worst of all, my friends almost lured me into commercial sex work to help generate income.”

God worked a miracle through you

Last year, through your support, African Enterprise hosted a trauma healing workshop.

WINTER 2023
“ I thank God that He found me before trauma destroyed my life,” said Susan of South Sudan.

From trauma to turmoil — to Jesus

“The trauma healing workshop opened my eyes to God’s love and wonderful plan for my life,” said Susan. During the session “Taking Your Pain to the Cross” Susan was able to release her past pain. On the last day, she surrendered her life to Jesus.

“While I may not have all that I desire, I am learning to count my blessings,” she said. “Now, my peace and joy come from the Lord.”

You gave Susan hope and new life!

Today, Susan is focused on her studies and looks forward to becoming a health science professional.

Is God calling you to go deeper?

Every day, African Enterprise’s evangelists are out sharing the Gospel, bringing thousands across Africa to know Christ. They’re training pastors and youth leaders. They’re training women to sew and run their own businesses. They’re providing trauma healing and reconciliation to bind up the wounds of war and violence.

By joining AE’s Transformation Team, our monthly giving program, you empower these courageous and compassionate colleagues to share the love of Jesus far and wide.

“I thank God that He found me before trauma destroyed my life,” said Susan. “Thank you to African Enterprise and partners for the great work in healing many lives like mine.”

60 years of ministry… and counting!

Last August, thanks to your prayers and support, hundreds of evangelists fanned out across the Zambian capital city, Lusaka, and shared the Gospel with more than 165,000 people, of which nearly 16,000 made first-time commitments to Jesus Christ as their Savior!

As part of the mission outreach, we also hosted the first annual National Prayer Breakfast, featuring the Vice President of Zambia, Mrs. Mutale Nalumango, who shared a strong biblical message.

The highlight of the mission was the launch of the AE International Institute of Evangelism, which will train thousands of African pastors and missioners in effective evangelism to impact the continent for Christ for decades to come.

A marriage saved — through your support!

Lukasa, Zambia

Last August, our Lukasa Mission team met a man named Shepherd. Through tears, he shared a long story about his troubled marriage. (He and his wife, Loveliness, had separated and were heading for divorce.)

The mission volunteers prayed with Shepherd, and right then, he surrendered his life to Jesus.

The team asked if they could go with him to meet with his estranged wife. (He was on his way to meet with her to address issues surrounding their legal separation.)

God works a miracle!

As the team met with both Shepherd and Loveliness, their reconciliation efforts bore fruit!

The couple agreed to come with them to a nearby church, where the team continued to pray with them. At the very end, Lovelieness gave her life to Jesus and reunited with her husband Shepherd.

Thank you for the new life in Christ you offered to this couple — and the reconciliation you brought to their marriage!

Stepping mightily into 2023

God is calling African Enterprise to great things in the coming year…

First, with your support, we will be carrying out ambitious plans to launch evangelistic missions throughout Africa:

■ Addis Ababa in Ethiopia

■ Accra in Ghana

■ Nairobi in Kenya

■ Kigali in Rwanda

■ Mutare in Zimbabwe

■ Durban in South Africa

■ Dar es Salaam in Tanzania

■ Fort Portal in Uganda

Second, with the launch of the International Institute of Evangelism in 2023, we will be training hundreds of pastors and church leaders across the continent in order to multiply the evangelistic effect.

And if this isn’t enough exciting news…

Lastly, your support will help launch new Foxfire Youth Empowerment Teams in Zambia, Tanzania, Ghana and South Sudan to complement teams already ministering in Kenya, Malawi, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Thank you for all you do to help bring the hope of the Gospel to Africa!
