Licensed Esthetics Instructor (LEI)

Certified Advanced Esthetics Instructor (CAEI)

Monique is a 1999 graduate of the Aesthetics Institute and was proudly featured in the magazine

Nails as the youngest nail technology license holder in the United States. She is a CIDESCO

International Diplomat, Master Aesthetician, Certified Advanced Esthetician, and a member of National Esthetician Certification Advanced Training (NECA), Professional Beauty Association (PBA), National Association of Professional Women (NAPW), American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS) among other leading beauty association and organization affiliations.

Growing up in the beauty industry, Monique could see all of the technological development and industry change as it occurred in real time. It gave her a unique understanding of the industry and its positive benefits but also allowed her to witness areas needing improvement. She loved the bond that she was able to create with clients and felt that her experience could give insight to both prospective students and professionals alike. Her vision of a technical school that could provide the same depth of education as a formal college was then born, and it has been the driving force behind the Aesthetics Institute since.

Monique has made it her mission to keep the Aesthetics Institute on the cutting edge. Her belief in excellence led her to create unique courses that exceed state requirements.

“I believe that it is our professional responsibility to teach to the highest standard. I hear people all the time say, ‘you will learn once you start working or go somewhere [beauty school] fast,’ If you want to be seen as a professional and work in the industry's top tier, you need to take time and invest in yourself. Unlike any other, this is an industry with so many different directions you can grow your career. A great education will always be a huge factor in your overall success and put you ahead of the rest.”

The Aesthetics Institute is owned by HENMEN, Inc. of Portland, Oregon. Monique Raab is the majority shareholder.

The Aesthetics Institute

The Aesthetics Institute was founded in 1985 by Cynthia Mendoza, who felt that the curriculum for esthetics, electrology, and nail service lacked technology, practical skills, and the sciences at the time. With hopes of advancing the profession, she opened the Oregon Aesthetics Institute of Electrology and Thermology in downtown Portland. After opening a satellite Aesthetics Institute in Spain, the school’s name was changed to the International Aesthetics Institute of Electrology and Thermology.

Years later, the college moved to its current location in southeast Portland and became the Aesthetics Institute. The facility has over 5,000 square feet of classrooms, instructional areas, testing stations, private treatment rooms, body treatment areas, medical spa facilities, and offices. The

Aesthetics Institute is proud to have over 2000 graduates who have completed their studies and begun their careers in the beauty industry.

The school currently offers two cutting-edge programs in high-level skincare and is one of the few beauty schools in Oregon that offers both. The Masters Esthetics Program is the school’s general esthetics course requiring no previous experience. The Advanced Esthetics Program is a continuing course requiring a current Oregon esthetics license.

Resources Available

The Aesthetics Institute believes that a combination of smaller class sizes, multi-method teaching, and detailed hands-on training is vital to a solid esthetics and cosmetology education. The Institute caters to each student’s unique abilities and ambitions and continually adapts to learning and teaching the latest cosmetology and esthetics techniques.

Students are exposed to a wide variety of equipment and learning tools to help enhance their education. The Institute believes in a four-fold learning system recognizing that each student may learn differently. Materials focusing on distinctly different learning styles, including visual, auditory, practical, and social learning skills, are offered.

Textbooks, workbooks, graphics, reading, receiving handouts, and viewing instructional videos.

Live and pre-recorded lectures, class discussions, student and guest presentations.

Hands-on application and practice, lab work, client interactions, tests and quizzes, and working in groups. Group work and class presentations, and receiving service feedback from students and clients.

Competency-Based Education

The Aesthetics Institute’s competency-based Masters Esthetics program is not intended as a shortcut to licensing, but it does allow students the opportunity to advance within parts of the curriculum based on how dedicated they are to their education.

The format of the school provides a structure to help move students toward graduation. However, it gives the flexibility to spend more time in more complicated areas where the student would like additional proficiency. While the online sections of the program will always be seven weeks long, once the student begins the in-house, hands-on learning portion of the program, their progression may be quicker than their classmates, based on their dedication to their studies.

The length of the in-house, competency-based portion of the Masters Esthetics Program is contingent on the student’s commitment to their studies, learning speed, attendance diligence, and completion of a minimum number of services required by the program. After the student learns each of the services taught in this program, they must perform and complete each a certain number of times satisfactorily. Students will provide these services to a mix of classmates and paying clients. All services performed are tracked and documented by the student and confirmed and checked off by their instructors.

Based on many factors, including but not limited to the student’s regular attendance, personal learning style, and work ethic, they can finish all of their required services before other classmates and graduate earlier than others. The program’s final portion allows the student to either graduate early or complete all of their required services. Please see the examples of competency-based graduation timelines below for both full-time and part-time students in the Masters Esthetics Program.

Competency-Based Education Graduation Timeline for Part-time Masters Esthetics Example:

Please note that only the Masters Esthetics Program (general esthetics), is offered as a competencybased course. The Advanced Esthetics program is not offered as a competency-based course. The state of Oregon requires Advanced Esthetics to be taught as a 500-clock-hour course.

Application Process

The Aesthetics Institute’s application is available on the school’s website and requires the applicant to fill out basic demographic information and answer two short essay questions. Below are the steps the applicant must complete to apply to the school:

1. The applicant will complete and submit an online application and pay the non-refundable application fee of $35.00. Once the Institute receives the application and payment, it takes up to five (5) business days to process the application and return the school’s enrollment decision. If admitted, an Enrollment Agreement and Payment Plan Agreement will be made available for the applicant to sign. The school will email the applicant digital access to these documents.

2. The applicant then must review and sign their enrollment paperwork using the school’s Student Information System (SIS). If the applicant is financing some or all of their tuition, this is also the time they can apply for that option.

3. The applicant will then pay the $250 non-refundable enrollment fee. This is done online at the same time the applicant signs and returns their enrollment documents on the school’s SIS. Failure to pay the enrollment fee may cause the applicant to miss their desired class start date.

4. The applicant will then upload the required supporting documents to secure and finalize their enrollment to the Aesthetics Institute:

a. A copy of a non-expired state ID card or Passport.

b. Social security or federal tax ID number.

c. Official, sealed transcripts from either high school or college. Or the transcript equivalent if the applicant completed their GED. The Institute cannot accept a copy of a diploma. The applicant should contact the school where they graduated and request their official transcripts be sent directly to the Aesthetics Institute. The applicant needs to begin the process of requesting their official school transcripts as soon as possible, but the Institute does not need to receive them to complete the applicant’s enrollment at the school. This process can take time, depending on the school the applicant graduated from. The Institute must have all the other documentation above in hand before the applicant can officially begin a program at the school.

Underage Applicants

Aesthetics Institute offers the option to enroll to underage students, 16 years of age or older who have completed High School or completed a GED. Underage students must comply with the Aesthetics Institute Underage Admission Guidelines. Students that follow our Underage Admissions process are responsible for understanding and adhering to all A.I policies.

Admissions Evaluation Criteria:

● High School Graduate (or equivalent)

● Official High School or College Transcript

● Completed Application Evaluated

● State-Issued Identification

● Space Available in Program

● 16 years of age or older

● Have completed High School or completed a GED

● Minor student and parent or legal guardian must sign the Underage Admissions Release Form

Non-Discrimination Policy:

The Aesthetics Institute does not discriminate based on sex, age, race, color, religion, ethnic origin, or sexual orientation.

Transfer Student Policy

The Aesthetics Institute follows all state rules and procedures to accommodate students transferring from other esthetics programs from different schools in Oregon and out-of-state training facilities.

The transferring process is very individualized and specific based on the type of program attended and how far along they had progressed. The first step is to gather documentation about that previous esthetics program, including time spent learning each service and subject, along with detailed descriptions of the training provided by the school attended. Below are the steps for people who wish to attend the Aesthetics Institute and would like to transfer credits from another institution.

1. Documentation requirements for previous training. The Aesthetics Institute shall enroll a student wishing to transfer hours from a school of esthetics in Oregon or out-of-state after first receiving an official transcript properly signed or sealed directly from the previous schools The Aesthetics Institute shall evaluate and grant appropriate credit for any education and training students received at state-regulated postsecondary schools.

2. Method for evaluating documentation of previous training or experience. The Aesthetics Institute shall give full credit for hours earned within the last ten years based on Higher Education Coordinating Commission Chapter 715-045-0220 Esthetics Proficiency-based Program requirements.

3. Description of any skills evaluation processes or exams given by the school to determine credit to award for previous training or experience. Once a transcript has been evaluated, the Aesthetics Institute will determine the student’s education transfer level. The

student must show proficiency at that level by either a practical or written test, whichever is appropriate to the skill level.

4. Timeline for the evaluation process and notification of results. The Aesthetics Institute has thirty (30) calendar days from the receipt of official transcripts to evaluate and decide the applicability of coursework.

5. Description of how program requirements, cost, and length will be adjusted. The student will be provided with a list of remaining requirements and an expected timeframe to complete those requirements. The timeframe will be based on the school's scheduled list of classes. The student will be charged a per hourly rate.

Tuition Payments and Financing Options

The Aesthetics Institute offers three different tuition payment options. Please note that both the Enrollment and Kit Fees cannot be financed and need to be paid in full prior to attending the school. The Enrollment Fee and the Kit Fee are both non-refundable.

The Enrollment Fee of $250, applicable to both programs offered by the school, is to secure the applicant’s enrollment for their desired start date and should be paid when the applicant returns their enrollment documents to the school. At least three weeks prior to their program start date (21 calendar days), the kit fee is due. Failure to pay the kit fee will result in the cancellation of enrollment.

Payment Options:

Option 1: Paid in Full

After receiving payment of the non-refundable Enrollment Fee and Kit Fee prior to starting the program, the remaining balance of the tuition is due approximately two weeks after starting the program.

Option 2: In-House Tuition Financing with 0% Interest

After receiving payment of the nonrefundable Enrollment Fee and Kit Fee prior to starting the program, the remaining tuition balance is to be divided into four monthly payments for full-time students and six-monthly payments for part-time students.

There is no interest accrued or charged on the tuition balance, if the full tuition balance has been paid prior to the student graduating. All tuition and any other outstanding fees must be paid in full prior to taking the final exams at the school.

Option 3: In-House Extended Payment Plan with Interest

Payments for the non-refundable Enrollment Fee and Kit Fee will have already been paid prior to starting the program. These fees cannot be financed.

The applicant must apply to be approved for this option and will be subject to a credit check. Interest rates are based on their credit score and are locked in at the time of loan origin. The applicant can add a co-signer if they choose. Payments begin once the student starts their program.

Payments on the tuition balance can be made for up to 72 months, depending on the specific payment plan approval, and do not need to be completed before graduation. There is no penalty for early repayment.

Aesthetics Institute Policies and Procedures

ABILITY TO BENEFIT

The Institute considers an applicant with a high school diploma (or equivalent) as possessing the skills and ability to benefit from the programs offered. No separate Ability-To-Benefit exam is offered.

ABSENCES

When students are absent, they must notify the Institute by submitting an absence notification through the school’s online Student Information System (SIS). Regardless of the reason for the absence, the absence affects the student’s attendance rate. Students must maintain at least a 75% cumulative attendance rate to remain in good standing. Both excused and unexcused absences negatively affect the student’s attendance rate. Failure to provide notice of absence may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination from the Institute.

Distance Policy: A student is considered to have ceased attendance at the school if the student does not respond to school communications for fifteen (15) calendar days. The student will be withdrawn from the school. Please see re-admission and refund policy of this document. In all instances of enrollment contract termination, a student may petition to re-enroll.

Residence Policy: A student is considered to have ceased attendance at the school and is considered a drop after eight (8) consecutive scheduled school days of absence. The student will be withdrawn from the school. Please see re-admission and refund policy in this document for specific refund details. In all instances of enrollment contract termination, a student may petition to re-enroll.

The only exception to this policy is a Medical Leave of Absence policy detailed in this document.

LATE ARRIVALS

Arrivals five (5) minutes or more after the student’s scheduled time to arrive is considered a late arrival; departing the Institute five (5) minutes or more before the scheduled end time is considered an early departure.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

It is expected that students attend their contractually obligated schedule. Students must maintain at least a 75% cumulative attendance rate to be considered in Good Standing. For an understanding of how attendance hours are calculated, see the Attendance Hours Calculation Policy in this document.

ATTENDANCE HOURS CALCULATION

Student attendance hours are based on the program calendar timeline in their enrollment agreement contract. These hours accrue every scheduled day regardless of the student’s attendance. For example, if a student is scheduled 30 hours in a week and only attends 10 of those, 30 hours will be subtracted from their contract total. If the student’s program has reached the end of the hours provided, they will begin to be charged the Hour-Overage rate.

If the student has not met the graduation requirements due to their lack of attendance the student will be obligated to continue attending until all graduation requirements are met. The additional accrued hours are billed on a per-hour basis and the student is charged the Hour-Overage rate. The specific cost of the Hour-Overage rate depends on the program the student is enrolled in. Hour-Overage calculations stop once the student has taken their final exams.

The Hour-Overage rate can be found on page 12 for the Masters Esthetics Program and page 15 for the Advanced Esthetics Program.

ATTENDANCE DISCIPLINE POLICY

Instructors will meet with any student falling below the acceptable academic and/or attendance standards. An examination grade below 75%, or a single calendar month under 75% attendance is an automatic warning to the student. The instructor, in cooperation with the student, will develop a Student Action Plan. This plan will be provided to the student. Based on the Student Action Plan, further disciplinary action may be taken against the student. Students must maintain at least a 75% cumulative attendance rate to remain in good standing.

ATTENDANCE OPTION SCHEDULE CHANGE

Students have until the end of week two (2) of their in-house training to request a change to their program attendance option. Students may request the Institute's full-time or part-time schedule. A student may elect to change their schedule only one time during their enrollment. A $55 fee will be assessed for any schedule change. An Enrollment Contract Addendum will be provided to the student upon schedule change approval.

HOUR-OVERAGE CHARGES

A student will be assessed a per-hour charge at the Hour-Overage Rate for each hour accrued that exceeds the maximum number of allotted hours in their respective program. These hours are billed according to the student’s scheduled program completion date, not their actual hours of attendance. See how this is determined in the Attendance Hours Calculation section of this document.

These charges will be calculated once the student applies to take their final examination and a final progress report is reviewed with the student by an instructor. The student will be billed for these Hour-Overages, and the balance will be due before they are allowed to take their Final Practical Exam.

SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS

Students must receive at least 75% on all examinations and homework. Students can retake examinations but may receive a maximum of 75% on the retake examination. The failing score is dropped from the student’s progress report after a successful retake examination.

ACCESS TO RECORDS (FERPA)

The Institute collects data on all students. The kind and amount of data differ for each student depending on the kind of services used and the length of stay at the Institute. Pursuant to Public Law 93-380, the student may review all official records, files, or data pertaining to the student (which are kept for twenty-five (25) years, with the following exceptions:

● Confidential information reported by the parent or guardian unless a letter has explicitly granted written permission for the student to review the financial statement.

● Medical, psychiatric, or similar records used for treatment purposes.

Minor Students FERPA

The Aesthetics Institute respects and protects the privacy of all its students, including minors, and considers an enrolled minor student to have all applicable rights under FERPA. If a student is attending a postsecondary institution - at any age - the rights under FERPA have transferred to the student.

Access to the records is guaranteed and must be given within forty-five (45) calendar days of the student’s official request. The student may challenge the content of a record considered inaccurate, misleading, or otherwise in violation of your privacy or other rights. If the student feels there is a discrepancy, the student must contact the owner of the Institute. Students may request information via the FERPA Records Inquiry form and submit it to the office.

ALCOHOL AND DRUG USE

The Aesthetics Institute is an alcohol and drug-free institution. Medication that interferes with a student’s ability to perform work properly or safely is prohibited. Any student using alcohol or nonprescribed medication during scheduled hours will be subject to disciplinary action, which may result in enrollment termination. Please refer to the Student Code of Conduct section of this document.

APPLICATION

An individual interested in attending the Institute must submit the completed application form, stateissued identification, and the $35 application fee to be considered for enrollment. An accepted applicant has sixty (60) calendar days to execute the enrollment agreement, or the application will expire, and the individual must re-apply. Applications are held for 30 days. A pending enrolled or enrolled student (prior to orientation) student may adjust the start date one time without fees. If another adjustment is needed, the potential student will need to reapply.

APPLICATION EVALUATION

All applications will be evaluated within five (5) business days from the receipt of a completed application and payment for the application has been received. Notification of the Institute’s decision will be sent to the email address provided on the application.

The Institute requires the applicant to have graduated from high school (or equivalent), have stateissued identification, and have completed an application. The Institute evaluates the responses

submitted in the application. The final step in the process is determining if space is available on the applicant’s requested start date. The next class start date may be offered to the applicant if their desired start date is full.

AESTHETICS INSTITUTE UNDERAGE ADMISSION GUIDELINES

● Have completed High School or completed a GED

● Minor student and parent or legal guardian must sign the Underage Admissions Release Form

CANCELLATION RIGHTS

Students may cancel their enrollment at the Institute by submitting written notice online using the student forms section of the Institute’s student e-learning platform. See the Refunds Policy in this document for additional details.

CELL PHONE USE

Cell phones are to be set to silent while the student is at the Institute. Students should limit the use of cell phones to their lunch breaks, and phones are not allowed in practical areas or treatment rooms. If the use of the phone creates a disruption to the school or to clients, the student may be prohibited from bringing their phone to campus. Use of a cell phone (including text messages or recordings) during a lecture is strictly prohibited.

CHANGE OF CONTRACT

Students will be charged $55 for any change of contract. This charge applies to any requested and approved change to the enrollment contract.

CHANGE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Students must notify the Institute via the online SIS of any changes to their personal information. This includes a change of name, address, email address, telephone number, emergency contact person, etc.

CLASSROOM RESPONSIBILITIES

Students are responsible for the physical condition, appearance, and cleanliness of the school, classrooms, and equipment. Students are responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of their own tools, materials, and work areas. Students may only use facial beds when actively performing or receiving a skincare service and not for any other purpose.

CLASS PARTICIPATION

Active participation in class is mandatory for all students. Therefore, it is expected that every student fully engages in class discussions, activities, and exercises as an integral component of the learning process. Your consistent and attentive presence in class is vital not only for your academic progress but also for fostering a collaborative and dynamic learning environment within the classroom

GOWNING DOWN

Students are required to adhere to specific grooming standards during school. This includes wearing appropriate attire that allows for the exposure of shoulders and arms, as deemed necessary to facilitate the learning and mastery of treatment techniques. Such attire is essential for students to gain hands-on experience and proficiency in executing esthetic treatments effectively and safely. Therefore, it is expected that all students comply with this dress code requirement as an integral aspect of their professional development within the esthetics field.

LASH EXTENSION REMOVAL

To fully participate in class activities, it is required that students remove their lash extensions. This ensures an optimal learning environment and allows for hands-on practice of various techniques without obstruction. Your cooperation in adhering to this requirement is appreciated as it contributes to the effectiveness of our educational experience. If you choose to keep lash extensions while in school, please note that they will be treated as natural lashes including makeup application and removal. Should you choose not to participate you will face disciplinary actions up to and including explosion from the program.

MANDATORY CLASSES

All classes, with the exception of lash extensions are mandatory to meet graduation requirements.

CLOSURES

The Institute reserves the right to close on days not listed on the posted school calendar. All reasonable attempts of notice will be made to inform students of these closures via the school’s SIS or email. In addition, classes may be recessed if the instructor is unavailable, and an adequate substitute is not available as a replacement. All such absences will be adjusted at no additional cost to the students.

For weather-related closures, the institute follows the lead of the Portland Public School District, in most cases. If Portland public schools are closed due to weather, the Aesthetics Institute is also closed. If Portland Public Schools are open but on a late start schedule due to weather, the Institute is open as regularly scheduled. The Institute follows all applicable closures required by state and county health authorities relating to public health emergencies (Covid-19, etc.).

These disciplinary actions can escalate and can include termination of enrollment.

The disciplinary process includes a verbal warning, written warning, probation, suspension, and enrollment termination. This process is intended to be implemented as a graduated scale, but depending on the severity of the disciplinary action, some or all the steps may be skipped, at the sole discretion of the Institute. The duration of each disciplinary process step depends on the Student Action Plan developed in response to the disciplinary action.

PROFESSIONAL SKILL LEVEL

Skill level standards that measure professional readiness for estheticians and advanced estheticians are defined by the Institute’s instructors and area spa and salon managers and owners. The curriculum and practical service training goals at the Aesthetics Institute are based on what local employers seek in hiring in terms of practical skill, time allotment for services and procedures, and sanitary/sterilization standards.

Any errors made by an esthetician must be of a minor nature, posing no threat or danger to clients and still be able to render satisfactory service to the spa clientele. It is the goal of the Institute to prepare students to have full knowledge of sanitary/sterilization requirements for their chosen profession as well as the skills and knowledge needed to perform the necessary application of services in that field.

Skills will be honed; all tests and practical exams are to be completed with a minimum score of 75%. Upon satisfactory completion of their training program, the student will be ready to take and pass the Oregon State Esthetics Licensure Exams.

SANITATION DUTIES

A career in esthetics involves regular public contact, and students are required by the Oregon Department of Heath to abide by the Oregon Law & Administrative Rules in safety and sanitation practices. In so doing, students will be assigned sanitation duties to be completed every day at 9:00 am. The Institute provides common-use sanitation gloves, but if a student chooses to bring their own from home, they must be kept in their locker.

SCHOOL PROPERTY

Items, products, equipment, and/or reference materials taken from the Aesthetics Institute by students without permission and/or taken and returned without permission will be considered theft and will be treated as such by the Institute.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Students who have received scholarships or grants to attend an institution of higher education should work with the scholarship awarding organization to determine if the scholarship can be used at the Aesthetics Institute. The Institute can work with the awarding agency at the request of the student.

SECURITY

All students should take their personal items with them at lunch or when leaving the building. Students should use their lockers to keep all personal items secure. The Institute assumes no liability for loss of personal items or injury while a student is on or off the school premises. Employees are directed not to transport students at any time. The Institute’s premises are secured each evening and on weekends.

SECURITY CAMERAS

The Aesthetics Institute has security cameras inside and outside of the building in public-facing areas. These cameras are on and recording at all times.

SEXUAL HARASSMENT

The Aesthetics Institute has zero tolerance for sexual harassment by anyone associated with, attending, employed, receiving treatment, or visiting the school. The Institute defines sexual harassment as sexual advances, verbal and/or physical, where such conduct interferes with educational or work performance, and/or creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive study or work environment.

The Aesthetics Institute supports and encourages prompt reporting of sexual assault, gender-based harassment, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking. A report can be made by anyone who knows about an incident.

At the time a report is made, the reporter doesn't need to know whether they wish to request any particular course of action, nor how to label what happened. Choosing to make a complaint, and deciding how to proceed after making the complaint, can be a process that unfolds over time.

1. Immediately tell an Aesthetics Institute Staff Member.

2. Fill out the Report It Form located online in the forms section of the SIS portal.

3. An administrator from the school will reach out within 24 hours to initiate next steps.

4. The Aesthetics Institute may implement interim measures as appropriate for the individuals involved. Even when an individual does not specifically request that protective action be taken, the Aesthetics Institute may choose to impose interim measures at its discretion to better protect the safety of any individual.

Interim measures may include but are not limited to:

● Access to counseling and support resources.

● Support and assistance with requests for academic accommodations, including extensions, rescheduling of exams and withdrawals.

● Changes in academic schedules.

● Restrictions on team or organization participation or activity.

● Employment termination or student expulsion.

SMOKING AND VAPING

No smoking or vaping is permitted within 20 feet of entrance doors and air intake vents at the Institute. Absolutely no smoking or vaping of any substance is allowed in the building. Students who smoke should ensure they clean up any cigarette butts so as not to litter around the outside of the building.

STATE RULES AND REGULATIONS

It is the responsibility of the student to ensure they have a copy of the most recent version of the State of Oregon Rules and Regulations. The student should contact Oregon Health Licensing Agency (HLO) by calling or visiting their website to obtain the most recent version. The student should do this during their first week of classes. STUDENT ACCOUNT TRANSACTIONS

When a student makes a payment to their student account, the student will receive a digital receipt recording this transaction. Any additional charges added to a student account will include a detailed explanation of the charges. Any outstanding balance on a student’s account must be paid in full prior to graduation.

TARDINESS

The Institute records all late student arrivals and early departures, and these affect the student’s overall program attendance rate. Arrivals five (5) minutes or more after the student’s scheduled time to arrive is considered a late arrival; departing the Institute five (5) minutes or more before the scheduled end time is considered an early departure. Both excused and unexcused absences negatively affect the student’s attendance rate. Failure to provide notice of absence may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination from the Institute. See the Absences Policy in this document for more details.

TRANSCRIPTS

Academic transcripts are maintained by the Aesthetics Institute for twenty-five (25) years. Copies of transcripts can be obtained for $35.00 by contacting the Institute. Hours actually attended by the student, not the overall total available in their program, will appear on the student’s official transcript.

TUITION

The Aesthetics Institute charges tuition for instruction and practical training provided to students attending programs offered by the school. Upon withdrawal from the Institute, a tuition refund may be due to the student (see the Refunds Policy in this document for more details). Students may also be charged additional tuition charges if they exceed the maximum number of hours for their program (see the Attendance Hours Calculation and Hour-Overage Charges policies in this document for more details).

AI offers a $2,000 discount off of tuition to all Alumni who successfully graduated the Masters Program. The discount may only be used once. If the student withdraws and re-enrolls, the discount will not apply. Graduated students must meet the below standards to qualify for the discount:

Students intending to enroll and attend two (2) or more programs at the Aesthetics Institute (for example, Masters Esthetics and Advanced Esthetics), will not be able to enroll in the second program until they have completed the first program or are in the process of graduating or receiving licensure from their first program.

VISITORS

A student’s personal visitors should be limited and are restricted to the lobby area.

WITHDRAWAL

A student can withdraw from the Institute at any time by giving written notice using the student forms section of the Institute’s student e-learning platform. Students that withdraw from the program after the commencement of classes will be assessed a $55 withdrawal processing fee. Additional administrative fees of $35 will also be applied.
