elcome to the Aesthetics Institute!
Founded in 1985 by my family, the Aesthetics Institute is proud to celebrate our 40th year of helping over 2000 students complete their studies and begin their careers in the beauty industry!
We are currently offering two cutting-edge programs in high-level skincare and are one of the very few beauty schools in Oregon that offers both of these programs.
Our Masters Esthetics Program is our beginning-level esthetics course that requires no previous esthetics experience.
Our Advanced Esthetics Program is our continuing esthetics course that requires a current Oregon esthetics license.
Throughout these structured, hands-on interactive courses, students learn advanced techniques and practice with the modern tools and cutting-edge equipment used in salons and spas today.
Our mission is to give students practical knowledge and a unique job market advantage upon graduation. We accomplish this through a rigorous program with very high standards.
Equipment Supported
Many schools promote training with modern equipment, but their students have only a brief exposure to those machines within the curriculum. At the Institute, using industry-leading technology, machines, tools, and tables will be part of your daily learning experience.
Spa Experience
The Institute’s day spa gives students the additional real-world experience that sets them apart from other beauty school graduates. By serving clients here, you’ll not only hone your skills as an esthetician, but you’ll also come to understand the demands and rewards of a professional in the beauty industry.
Cutting-Edge Curriculum
We invest in our expert-level instructors. These licensed professionals attend conferences across the US to keep current on industry changes and trends. This commitment to continued professional development ensures students receive an education that truly prepares them to thrive in today’s industry.
After looking through this Guide, we hope you will schedule a campus tour of our facilities. While we hope to be able to answer all of your questions with this Guide and our comprehensive website, we know nothing beats spending an hour at our school to speak with our staff and perhaps, even a student or two.
Thank you again for taking the time to look at our school and the programs we offer, and I wish you luck in taking your next steps into a new and thrilling career in esthetics!
Monique Raab President, Aesthetics Institute
WHAT IS ESTHETICS?
Like many people, you may be confused about what the term "esthetics" actually means. Also, what is the difference between “cosmetology” and “esthetics,” and is “esthetics” different from “aesthetics”? Are they even pronounced the same?
Since our school’s name is the Aesthetics Institute and we focus exclusively on teaching esthetics, we decided to clear up any confusion.
Esthetics refers to the various applications of techniques performed to improve the appearance of the skin on the human body.
Cosmetology is the professional skill or practice of beautifying the face, hair, and skin.
The main difference is that esthetics does not include hair styling or nail services. Estheticians, or people practicing esthetics, provide services exclusively on the skin.
Esthetics services can include something as simple as performing facials to improve the appearance of the skin or waxing to remove unwanted hair on the body, to something as complex as using a laser to target specific lesions on the skin to minimize, repair, or even remove them.
WHAT IS ESTHETICS?
As for “esthetics” versus “aesthetics,” it gets a little murkier. In general, both terms can be used interchangeably in the beauty industry, and they are pronounced exactly the same.
Aesthetics is technically the British spelling of the word and is often used to imbue the term with an air of sophistication or class. Aesthetics also refers to a set of principles concerning the nature and appreciation of beauty. But both spellings are correct and can be deployed how the user best sees fit.
Our school’s name, the Aesthetics Institute, was selected to let prospective students and clients know we appreciate the beauty of the human body and aim for excellence in providing a high-quality education to our students.
Also, because this school was founded in 1985, spelling the name with an “A” was a strategic business decision. Why, you may ask? Because in 1985, “Aesthetics” came before “Esthetics” in the phonebook.
Times change, but 40 years later, we remain committed to providing a high-quality and sophisticated education in esthetics.
WHAT IS ADVANCED ESTHETICS?
In Oregon, the field of esthetics has been separated into two distinct levels: Esthetics and Advanced Esthetics.
Esthetics is a comprehensive field that includes all areas of skin health. The skin is the largest organ in the body and the first line of defense against outside microbes and bacteria from entering the body. Esthetics include treatments, techniques, technology, and products that help the skin function at its best.
Once you graduate from a general esthetics program, you test for your Oregon esthetics license. At the Aesthetics Institute, our general esthetics program is called Masters Esthetics. Once you are a licensed esthetician, you are eligible to enroll in and complete an advanced esthetics program.
Upon graduating from an advanced esthetics program, you can again test with the state to become a Certified Advanced Esthetician.
WHAT IS ADVANCED ESTHETICS?
Certified Advanced Estheticians can complete all services and treatments a licensed esthetician can perform, in addition to another set of more advanced services, using more sophisticated machines and tools, as dictated by their scope of practice.
Advanced Esthetics in Oregon specifically refers to treatments that go beyond the outermost layer of the skin to target and correct concerns in the skin, such as anti-aging, pigmentation, and scarring.
Advanced Esthetics includes seven treatment types. They are skin rejuvenation, body contouring, dyschromia reduction, cellulite reduction, hair removal or reduction, nonablative tattoo removal, and advanced skin exfoliation techniques.
The Aesthetics Institute teaches all these treatments in our comprehensive Advanced Esthetics Program. We are one of three schools in the Portland area that offer an Advanced Esthetics education, and we pride ourselves on providing the highest level of safety and education within this program.
MASTERS ESTHETICS VS. ADVANCED ESTHETICS
At our school, our beginning-level general esthetics course is called Masters Esthetics.
MASTERS ESTHETICS REQUIREMENTS
We call our beginning-level esthetics course Masters Esthetics because you learn far more than what is required for Oregon’s general esthetics license. Our course has maintained this name for more than 30 years, far before Oregon had multiple tiers of esthetics training.
When you complete this course, you can test with the state of Oregon and receive your general esthetics license.

ADVANCED ESTHETICS REQUIREMENTS
“I completed my Masters Esthetics at the Aesthetics Institute and was so impressed that I attended the Advanced Esthetics program directly after. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, patient, and professional. In addition, the space is clean and the curriculum is thorough. You will receive a lot of one-on-one instruction and encouragement to be the best you can be.”
No matter where you received your general esthetics course training, you must have a current Oregon general esthetics license to attend an Oregon Advanced Esthetics course.
After obtaining your current Oregon general esthetics license, you can apply and attend our Advanced Esthetics course. When you complete our Advanced Esthetics course, you can again test with the state of Oregon to receive your Advanced Esthetics Certificate.

“I attended the Aesthetics Institute in their Masters Esthetics Program this past November. I graduated in February 2023, and by March 2023, I had opened my own business as an independent contractor. The Aesthetics Institute set me up for not nothing short of success.
The Institute and its instructors taught me so much, and I’m forever grateful for the amount of passion they have for this industry and the hard work they put into me and helping me be successful. My experience was incredible!
I highly recommend going to this school!!”

BRAND PARTNERSHIPS & STUDENT KIT

We have chosen to work and partner with this large variety of brands because this best reflects the real-world working environment that most estheticians will experience.
While some well-known beauty school chains may only teach their in-house brand, that is the exception, not the rule, in this industry. Each product line, piece of equipment, and tool has been meticulously selected for a bespoke esthetics education experience at our school.
O
ur
goal
is that no matter where our graduates' careers take them, they will always feel prepared and comfortable using a wide variety of machines and products they may encounter in a professional working environment.
Online theory, paired with in-house, hands-on training, based on our competency-based education model, allows you maximum flexibility to complete our program.
MASTERS ESTHETICS COMPLETION TIMELINE
The first seven weeks of the class are entirely online for both full and part-time students. After you complete the online portion of the program, you will move to the in-house, hands-on practical training portion of the course at our school facilities.
Full-time students spend approximately 2-3 months in the building completing their hands-on portion of the course. Part-time students on average spend between 4-5 months in the building.
Seven weeks of online learning paired with 2-3 months of in-house, hands-on training equals 4-5 months of total time to complete the program.
Part-time students
Instructor Supported: 7 Weeks
Completion Time: 6-7 Months
Hands-On: 4-5 Months
Seven weeks of online learning paired with 4-5 months of in-house, hands-on training equals 6-7 months of total time to complete the program.
-The Breakdown-
Online Instructor Supported Learning: Two
Months
The first seven weeks of the Masters Esthetics Program are entirely online for both full-time and part-time students.
MONTH 1
MONTH 2
While there are weekly coursework assignment deadlines, this first portion of our course allows students to complete their coursework at their own weekly pace, at any time of the day, and on any day of the week that best works for their schedule. Curriculum is released weekly and students are expected to stay current with their studies based on the course syllabus provided.
Weekly Zoom Office Hours
Each week, your instructor hosts two open office hour sessions over Zoom to help keep you on track as you progress through the online portion of the course.
These sessions provide the opportunity to go over the material covered for the week, ask questions, and even an opportunity to get to know your classmates and instructor better before you are in the building. Your instructor is always available to you via email, but this allows you to get any questions you may have or clarifications answered in real-time, during the week.
The Zoom open office hour sessions, while encouraged to attend, are not required. We record them and make them available to view for those who have scheduling conflicts. All students are considered “full-time” during the online portion of the course. Student time actually completing coursework each week will vary from student to student and from the difficulty of the material being presented each week.
A
In-House Hands-On Learning
fter you complete the online portion of the Master Esthetics program, you will move to the in-house, hands-on practical training portion of the course at our school facilities.
Full-Time Completion Time:
Most full-time students spend 2-3 months attending 4-days-a-week completing the in-house portion of the program.
Part-Time Completion Time:
Most part-time students spend 4-5 months attending 2-days-a-week completing the in-house portion of the program.
Full-time attendance is Monday to Thursday, 9 am to 5 pm. Most students finish within 2-3 months in the building, as they complete their competency-based training.
Part-time attendance is Monday/Wednesday -OR- Tuesday/Thursday, 9 am to 5 pm. Most students finish within 4-5 months in the building, as they complete their competency-based training.
*The first week of in-house training requires ALL students to attend full-time. After the first week, you move to your part-time schedule*
COMPETENCY-BASED EDUCATION
Our competency-based Masters Esthetics program is not intended as a shortcut to licensing, but it does allow you the opportunity to advance within parts of the curriculum based on how dedicated you are to your education.
IN-HOUSE HANDS-ON TRAINING
While the online portion of the program will always be seven weeks long, once you are in-house for your hands-on learning portion of the program, your progression may be quicker than your classmates, based on your dedication to your studies.
The length of our in-house, competency-based portion of the Masters Esthetics Program is contingent on your commitment to your studies, speed of learning, the diligence of attendance, and speed of completing a minimum number of services required by our program.
Our competencybased program allows you the opportunity to finish our Masters Esthetics program more quickly than other noncompetency-based schools and the opportunity to even finish more quickly than other students studying in your program at our school.
COMPETENCY-BASED EDUCATION
After you learn each of the services we teach in this program, you must perform and complete each a certain number of times in a satisfactory manner.
Here is how the in-house hands-on training works:
You will provide these services to a mix of your fellow classmates and paying clients. All services performed are tracked and documented by the student and confirmed and checked off by our instructors.
Based on many factors, including but not limited to your regular attendance, personal learning style, and work ethic, you can finish all of your required services before other classmates and graduate earlier than others. The last few weeks of the program is designed to allow you to either graduate early or complete all your required services.
See how our competencybased timeline applies to your graduation timeline, depending on your full-time or parttime enrollment status, on page 16.
“ The Aesthetics Institute provided a safe and positive learning environment with enough handson experience to make me feel confident in the field of Esthetics and Advanced Esthetics. I find myself referring people here often for both enrollment and treatment.”

Equipment & TECHNOLOGY
EQUIPMENT & TECHNOLOGY
The Aesthetics Institute makes investing in the school and our students a top priority, and this investment is reflected in the equipment and technology that supports the course instruction.
Our education model prioritizes using a wide variety of tools, machines, products, modalities, and equipment every day under the direct supervision and guidance of our expert instructors.
Our school uses the same professional-grade tools and machines that estheticians will encounter when working in the beauty industry upon graduation.
Our graduates are prepared to work in any professional environment and are not limited by only learning with niche products and on a singular equipment line.
EQUIPMENT & TECHNOLOGY
DiamondGlow Microdermabrasion Device
The DiamondGlow is a microdermabrasion treatment device that uses a combination of exfoliation, extraction, and infusion. It helps to exfoliate surface layers of skin using abrasion and gentle suction.
The handpiece exfoliates the surface to uncover renewed skin underneath. The vacuum technology assists in extracting to cleanse the skin and remove debris from the pores deeply, all while also infusing the skin with one of SkinMedicas nourishing pro-infusion serums.
Unlike traditional wet facial serums, which rely on chemical exfoliation to treat the skin, DiamondGlow’s patented recessed diamond tip wand delivers a next-level resurfacing treatment that deeply cleanses and rejuvenates the skin.
EQUIPMENT & TECHNOLOGY
Lucas Championnière Steamer
The Lucas Championnière steamer is a device used in several facial treatments taught at the Institute. It's named after its inventor, Dr. Lucas Championnière, a French physician known for his contributions to dermatology.
The steamer produces a fine mist of atomized water infused with various beneficial substances like herbal extracts or essential oils. This mist is directed at the client's face, providing several benefits. Its primary use with clients at the school is to help calm the skin after a chemical or manual exfoliation to address redness and irritation.
EQUIPMENT & TECHNOLOGY
Garfield-Paragon 7100 Complete Facial Unit
This European technology-based facial machine combines nine fundamental treatments into one convenient device. These include:
• Steamer with timer and double fuse protector: to hydrate, decongest and soften the skin.
• Magnifying Spa Treatment Lamp and Wood’s Lamp: analyzation tool to best assess the correct treatment of the skin.
• Rotary brush with adjustable speed and reversible rotation: used for cleansing and exfoliating the face.
• High-Frequency technology: antibacterial treatment for acne, also used to stimulate blood
flow and oxygen to the skin’s surface.
• Vacuum and spray with dual action unit with atomizer bottles and vacuum ventouse: plumps fine lines, loosens debris, aids in lymphatic drainage.
• Galvanic current with des-incrustation and iontophoresis: used for true deep pore cleansing, product penetration, and acne treatments.
EQUIPMENT & TECHNOLOGY
Myolift Microcurrent Device
The Myolift Microcurrent Device by 7E is a mini microcurrent device that is a perfect add-on for most facial treatments. Microcurrent facials tighten and smooth the muscles and connective tissues in the face by increasing cellular activity and have been shown to reduce wrinkles, mainly around the forehead area.
Microcurrent devices use low levels of safe, painless electrical impulses to the face and neck muscles. The overly-tightened muscles relax, and under-worked muscles regain their strength.
EQUIPMENT & TECHNOLOGY
Spark LED Light Therapy
LED Light Therapy is a light-based skin treatment that uses different wavelengths to target concerns in the skin using different colors.
Each color of light has a different wavelength and reaches a different level in the skin. Each color has unique healing properties and has different therapeutic applications for different skin concerns.
Spark LED Light combines 3 main colors that can work independently. A total of 6 colors are included in Spark LED Light Therapy: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Purple, & Orange.
Sarah Rudd Masters Graduate 2021
“I chose to attend the Aesthetics Institute because I Googled ‘what is the best esthetics program in Oregon?’ and this school was the first search result, without any ads. So I started looking at their website and reading the reviews from past students and I was like ‘Wow, I think this is the place I want to go!’
But I knew I needed to do my homework, so I looked at other schools in the area and even took some of their tours.
I actually even had a service at one of them, and can assure you, not one of those schools even came close to what the Aesthetics Institute has to offer to its students and clients.”
Advanced ESTHETICS
ADVANCED ESTHETICS PROGRAM
Our Advanced Esthetics Program is our higher-level esthetics course that requires a current esthetics license in the state of Oregon.
The Aesthetics Institute offers a comprehensive list of industry-leading advanced treatments and services taught by our expert instructors. We are one of only three schools who offer Advanced Esthetics in the Portland-area.
Our class sizes are purposely kept small, with most enrolling between 6-8 students. Our technology is cutting-edge and we train students to feel comfortable operating the machines and modalities they will be expected to know and use while working professionally as an Advanced Esthetician.
All of these services, skills, and modalities are included in the program’s advertised price. There are never any extra add-on services, supplemental classes, or surprise fees.
CERTIFICATIONS
The Aesthetics Institute provides additional certifications in combination with the standard certifications required by the state of Oregon to become an Advanced Esthetician.
We include these certifications in our program at no additional cost because we know these are the skills and certifications that are most sought-after by employers.
“The curriculum is much more in-depth than other schools, you will get much more handson experience, and you will leave here with the tools to truly thrive in the industry. After working in the industry I can attest that the education you get here is way beyond what other schools are teaching, even in other states.”

ADVANCED ESTHETICS CURRICULUM
We have designed our Advanced Esthetics curriculum for a diverse background of student skills and proficiencies.
We understand that some advanced esthetician students will have just completed their general esthetics studies, and others will have already worked in the industry and are now looking to move their careers forward.
Our comprehensive Advanced Esthetics academic curriculum offers an adaptive education to allow each student to gain the perfect amount of training to master the included services and modalities. It is also designed to accommodate those with a more robust background in esthetics or the medical field and may already feel more comfortable with the presented concepts, anatomy, and science.
Because the first seven weeks of the program are online, it allows each student to customize the amount of time they need to complete each module with confidence to move forward. Once students are in the building, there is ample time to practice skills and services on other students and paying clients in our professional medical spa.
No matter your comfort level at the beginning of the program or how long you have been a licensed general esthetician, our Advanced Esthetics program allows you to graduate skilled in multiple modalities and prepared to treat your clients with confidence!

-The
Breakdown-
Online Instructor Supported Learning: Seven Weeks
The first seven weeks of the Advanced Esthetics Program are entirely online for both full-time and part-time students.
MONTH 1
In-House Hands-On Learning
After you complete the online portion of the Advanced Esthetics program, you will move to the in-house, hands-on practical training portion of the course at our school facilities.
Full-Time Completion Time:
It takes full-time students approximately 2 months to complete the in-house, hands-on training portion of our Adavanced Esthetics program.
Part-Time Completion Time:
It takes part-time students approximately 4 months to complete the in-house, hands-on training portion of our Advanced Esthetics program.
Full-time attendance is Monday to Thursday, 9 am to 5 pm. Most students spend approximately 2 months in the building, as they complete their hands-on training.
Part-time attendance is Monday/Wednesday -OR- Tuesday/Thursday, 9 am to 5 pm. Most students spend approximately 4 months in the building, as they complete their hands-on training.
*The first week of in-house training requires ALL students to attend full-time. After the first week, you move to your part-time schedule*
In-House Hands-On Advanced Training
You will hit the ground running by reviewing your online studies and then quickly move to train on our state-of-the-art advanced esthetics equipment.
Instructor-supported, hands-on training in your small class ensures more than enough time to become comfortable with all of the equipment and modalities before you begin your time seeing advanced clients in the spa portion of our school.
Our Advanced Esthetics program is not offered as a competency-based course. The state of Oregon requires Advanced Esthetics to be taught as a 500-resident hour course. Our curriculum uses only FDA-approved devices.

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
Advanced Esthetics students learn many different modalities and receive comprehensive training on multiple pieces of industry-leading equipment.
This high-demand device supports a large variety of unique handpieces to treat everything from unwanted hair to fine lines and wrinkles on the skin. The Icon has the ability to use both Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and laser technology, as well as featuring the very first “live melanin reader” to keep treatments as safe as possible.
ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
Exceed Microneedling Device
Microneedling, known as collagen induction therapy (CIT), is a non-surgical treatment that uses very fine, short, sterile needles to create tiny punctures in the skin, prompting the skin's natural woundhealing process, which leads to the production of new, healthy collagen.
ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
Profound Matrix by Candela
Candela has long been at the forefront of radiofrequency technology innovation. The Profound Matrix, featuring patented and groundbreaking fractional RF microneedling technology, is the only system with real-time, temperature-controlled microneedling that delivers short-pulse RF energy to the face for the improvement of wrinkles & the body for the appearance of cellulite.
This lightweight, mobile system features ultra-thin 34-gauge needles designed for a smooth insertion, resulting in a comfortable experience & minimal downtime, while insulated microneedles protect the epidermis by only exposing 0.6mm on the very tip of the needle for targeted high-density energy delivery.
ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
Elysion-Pro Laser Hair Removal System by Sinclair
The Elysion-Pro works with an advanced new standard of energy in esthetic medicine. By performing with both Diode and Ultra-Short Pulse energy, the Elysion-Pro is able to combine the most effective treatments for hair removal with no discomfort or risk of damage.
ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
Radio Frequency Skin Rejuvenation Unit V20 by Sinclair
The V20 platform Skin Rejuvenation Unit by Sinclair features a combination of cutting-edge radiofrequency and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology with three radiofrequency handpieces, each aimed at treating different skin conditions.
The V-form handpiece uses a combination of radiofrequency, suction, and customizable settings to target deeper into the subcutaneous fatty layer for cellulite reduction, fat reduction, and skin tightening of the body.
ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
Reaction Bi-Polar Multi-RF
Aesthetic Device by Sinclair
The Reaction Bi-Polar Multi-RF Aesthetic Device by Sinclair works by inducing heat into the skin and adipose tissue. The heating effect in the dermal skin layers leads to connective tissue remodeling, which tightens the skin and helps to keep the results for much longer. In addition, the heating of the adipose tissue will cause the adipocytes (fat cells) to sweat and shrink in size, thus its name: “circumferential reduction.”
Radio Frequency Body Contouring is a non-invasive treatment that helps reduce cellulite, reduces excess fat, and tones and tightens loose skin. This treatment can be performed over most of the body, with the exception of bony areas, tattoos, and breasts.
ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
SkinPen Microneedling Device
Microneedling pens create hundreds of microscopic channels in the dermis to stimulate the skin’s natural production of new collagen and elastin, helping the skin to look and feel healthier. When moving the device across the skin, microneedling pens can cycle at 100+ stamps/second, potentially creating 1600+ micro channels per second.
SkinPen by Crown Aesthetics was the first FDA-approved microneedling pen on the market, setting the industry standard for safety. With 14 needles on each cartridge, SkinPen provides a quick and easy microneedling treatment for every person.
ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
DiamondGlow
Microdermabrasion
Device
ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
Alex TriVantage Tattoo and Pigmented Lesion Removal System
The Alex TriVantage is a laser system that removes tattoos and treats pigmented lesions such as sun and age spots, freckles, moles, and birthmarks. This laser treatment reduces or removes the signs of aging for patients bothered by the appearance of prominent birthmarks or pigmentation from aging or sun exposure.

ADVANCED ESTHETICS CLASS START DATES
We STRONGLY recommend applying at least SIX WEEKS prior to your desired class start date.
Our graduates work in medical or facial spas, salons, waxing centers, lash studios, dermatology, or plastic surgery offices, own their own businesses, work as independent contractors, specialize in one specific service, or do a little bit of everything.
We have spent 40 years working hard to collaborate and foster positive relationships with many local and national spa and healthcare businesses that love to work with and hire our talented graduates.
I highly recommend going to this school!!"
We work with all of our students when they are nearing their graduation to help them determine their next steps and assist them in any way we can to help them find a position in the esthetics field that best fits their professional goals.
There is a world of possibilities and opportunities for Licensed Estheticians and Certified Advanced Estheticians!

ESTHETICS CAREERS
With a general esthetics education from the Aesthetics Institute, you can be a spa esthetician providing many different skincare services to paying clients, a waxing specialist, a freelance makeup artist, a lash tech, or you can own your own business either out of your own home or in a business suite or office space.
There are many options, and many people will switch between them more than once during their career in the esthetics industry.
The opportunities don’t end there, as there are even more unique career options, such as working as an esthetician on a cruise ship or at a high-end resort or hotel. Estheticians can work special events, like weddings, festivals, or charity events, or even operate a “mobile spa” to bring their services nearly anywhere their clients desire.
Estheticians are in demand all over the world, and opportunities abound!
“
After working in the industry for as long as I have, I can attest that the education you get at the Aesthetics Institute is far more in-depth and way beyond what other schools are teaching, even in other states. You will get an incredible amount of hands-on experience and leave the school with the tools to truly thrive in the beauty industry.
After graduating, I received a lot of support in finding the perfect job. This included help tweaking my resume and cover letter, being the first to know about job openings, and the school answering my calls when I had any questions.
Nothing is scarier than starting a new career in a brand-new field. But going in with a ton of hands-on experience and the best knowledge I could get made the transition seamless. If you want the best, this is it.”
Meet Peyton Lee Tunstall, AI Masters Esthetics graduate and business owner! We caught up with Peyton recently at her very cute business, Peyton Lee Esthetics.
Our Campus Visits Coordinator had the very difficult job of laying down for one of her relaxing and rejuvenating facial services, and had the opportunity to ask her a few questions about her career in esthetics. Learn about Peyton’s journey from student to business owner.
When did you attend the school? I started in November, 2018 and graduated in October, 2019.
When did you start your business? In January, 2020.
What services do you offer? I currently offer lash enhancements, brow shaping, facials, and facial waxing.
What about the AI program did you feel most contributed to your success today?
The real life hands on training! Also the expectations they have of their students set the bar for what the standard in my business should be.
Why did you want to start your own esthetician business?
I love feeling like I have complete creative control from the atmosphere to the services I provide.
What do you wish you knew prior to starting your business?
This is a tough question for me because I come from a family of business owners in this industry, who I learned a lot from early on and I felt I knew a lot more going into this than most people do when they start their business.
The thing that really comes to mind is that I didn’t expect how much of my time would be dedicated to my business, outside of the services I do. It’s more time consuming than I anticipated starting out, but so worth it!
What were the resources that really helped you start your own business?
Instagram! The the Etsy community on Instagram is very supportive and is a great recourse for education recourses.
ADVANCED ESTHETICS CAREERS
There are several ways to pursue a career in the Advanced Esthetic field. These options include working for yourself, working for an established business, retailing products or devices for a larger distributor, or even as a traveling educator.
Many Advanced Estheticians enjoy the fast-paced work environment of medical spas, plastic surgery clinics, and dermatology offices, where they perform a range of services and treatments that are within their scope of practice.
“I wanted to become an esthetician because it’s my family’s business, and I wanted to help my mom be able to retire. She created this beautiful spa, and I was ready to evolve it.
My experience attending the Aesthetics Institute was fabulous! It is very family-oriented and both welcoming and loving. All of the instructors are really close with their students, and I loved that!”
“I recommend the Aesthetics Institute of Portland because it prepares you for real life. It gives you the education, the hands-on training, and the practice so that when you walk out that door, you can step into any job and feel comfortable.
Your employers will know the difference, mine did. And they actually asked if there were any more people like me, and I had to tell them it was because of where I went to school, the Aesthetics Institute.”
Certified Advanced Estheticians receive a higher level of training and specialization than general estheticians, and career opportunities are in demand and include many workplace locations, specialties, and skincare focuses.
“I am so glad I chose the Aesthetics Institute for my education. I spent the majority of 2020 and part of 2021 enrolled in both the Masters and the Advanced programs.
I feel confident that I can leave here and immediately launch my own business at the Oregon Coast. Even more importantly – I know I’ll be able to answer all my clients questions and can explain the science behind the services without stumbling.
If you’re thinking about attending this school – stop comparing and just go here! Trust me. Give them a call, come take a tour with Ryan and meet Monique and the instructors. You’ll see what it’s all about. ”
After 40 years of teaching esthetics, we’ve had the incredible privilege of meeting a fantastic and diverse array of highly talented students from all over the state, country, and even the world. We are so proud of our graduates, and we know we would not be here without their continued love and support for our school.
“The number of clients I was able to take during school greatly prepared me to enter the esthetics field as a new professional. I was so prepared and ready for my new field I actually had multiple job offers before I even graduated!
The amount of knowledge and experience all the instructors have is definitely top-notch, and I dare say, unmatched. I believe in the Aesthetics Institute and the students and instruction so much that I will continue to return for services even though I am long graduated!”
Anna Sellman Masters & Advanced Esthetics Program Graduate 2021
“I toured pretty much all of the Portland area esthetics schools. The Aesthetics Institute really stood out for their flexibility in their offered class schedule, specifically the option to attend either full or part-time. This was very important to me, as it has allowed me to work and attend school, which was not an option at other schools. Of all the other schools in the area, the Aesthetics Institute teaches the most services for the most competitive price.
And lastly, when I took a tour here, compared to all of the other tours, I felt the most at home here right from the beginning. The instructors and staff are all super friendly, welcoming, and helpful and I am grateful for all the help and support they provide.”
Savannah Pizzuti Masters Esthetics Program Graduate 2020
“My experience at the Aesthetics Institute was more than I could’ve imagined. I came in with little to no knowledge about lasers, IPL, and advanced esthetics and left feeling like I can conquer the world. The staff and resources that I received here left me feeling so competent and ready to start my own business. The Aesthetics Institute is the ONLY place to go for esthetics.”
Bailee Decker Masters & Advanced Esthetics Program Graduate 2019
“I knew I would get an excellent education from attending this school, but I was honestly overwhelmed by how kind and caring my instructors were.
This doesn't just feel like a school, this feels like a family, and while I am excited to start my career, I am also truly sad that my time here has come to an end.”
Carrie McGeehan
“The most fun and unexpected experience so far in school has been the fact that everyone is ‘all in' with helping each other when learning both handson skills and finding answers to our questions. That kind of environment makes for a really good learning experience!”

That became so clear when I got a job, and my boss was impressed by my knowledge and skill level being a new esthetician. The teachers will take time to have you truly understand your clients' skin and support you every step of the way in performing services.”
Emma Dean Masters
“I had an excellent experience at Aesthetics Institute. The level of competency, professionalism and dedication to student growth is unparalleled. Their staff is highly qualified to teach both theory and hands-on, as they each have extensive real-life industry experience and well-respected expertise to bring to the table.
I felt like each of my instructors and the Director was individually invested in seeing me not only finish the program but leave with the knowledge I needed to excel and to best serve my cherished clientele.”
Lynne Sanders
"The program at the Aesthetics Institute is the best, mostcomprehensive curriculum in the area. And trust me, I have done my research. I also felt really comfortable and welcomed on my tour, which was important to me.
Attending the Aesthetics Institute was exactly what I imagined. They have truly caring teachers and kind students who help and support you during your studies. I am really happy I chose this school.”
“I chose to attend the Aesthetics Institute because of all the schools I researched and toured, this one just ‘clicked’ a bit more than the others. I liked that the teachers are super hands-on with the students and the class sizes are not too big, and coupled with their central location, it just made the most sense.”

The most fun part has definitely been getting to connect with people who are like-minded and share the same interests!!"”
"I chose the Aesthetics Institute because they have the best part-time schedule, a great location, and smaller class sizes that are better for more one-onone learning. MEET OUR INSTRUCTORS
Our professional and talented instructors provide highly-technical comprehensive training in the esthetics industry and have built the reputation of the Aesthetics Institutes as one of the most respected schools in the northwest.
This reputation allows us to welcome students from all over the United States and the world to our programs on a regular basis.
Our instructors continue to maintain ties to the beauty industry, and many still practice professionally to keep ahead of industry trends. We believe that you must keep your skills current in order to teach, which is why our instructors stay up-to-date with additional training on the newest and most cutting-edge equipment.
Meet our amazing instructors & staff:
“I believe our professional responsibility is to teach to the highest standard. I hear people often say, ‘you will learn once you start working or just go to a quick school.' If you want to be seen as a professional and work in the industry's top tier, you need to take time and invest in yourself."
“I love working for the school because it allows me to guide and support students at the beginning of their esthetics journey. It's incredibly fulfilling to help students discover their niche and passions within the beauty industry and watch them grow and develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed. Being part of that transformation makes this role so meaningful to me.”

Tashauna Carter Lead Advanced Esthetics Instructor, LEI, CAEI
“It is so awesome to watch something ‘click’ in someone’s head just because you explained it a certain way. Not everyone learns the same way, and one subject may have to be taught in three different methods for everyone to learn it correctly. So when I figure out what really worked for that specific student, it’s truly a great feeling!”
Raquel Schalck Licensed Esthetics Instructor, LEI
“It is pretty incredible to come full circle, from being a student at the Aesthetics Institute to working in the industry for many years to now being back helping students learn how to be top-notch professionals who love this field. I want each one of my students to leave the Institute confident that they are highly trained and ready for any challenges ahead of them!””
Bridges Licensed Esthetics Instructor, LEI
“My advice to anyone considering going to school to become an esthetician is to keep an open mind and don’t limit yourself. Being an esthetician is an amazing line of work that brings so much joy to the people you're servicing and ultimately helping along the way. I love being able to watch my students grow and fall in love with the world of esthetics.”
“I love the positive environment and the support we offer each other at the school. It feels like a big family, and we all look out for and care for each other here. I’m proud to be able to pass down all the knowledge I have received to the next generation of estheticians! We teach our students to really understand the skin and the “why” behind what they are doing, which sets us apart from other schools.”

MEET OUR STAFF
Colette Neva Director of Admissions & Alumni Relations
“I love all the people that I get to interact with at The Aesthetics Institute! The clients, the instructors, the students, and the entire staff! But I really enjoy the opportunities I have each day to speak with prospective students and their families and hear about their career hopes and dreams. I also love it when past students come in for services or to pick up products and share their post-graduate success stories with me!”
Ryan Klute Director of Communications
“I love coming to the school every day because, in many ways, I feel the excitement of being a student myself in this industry. I really enjoy the opportunity to sit in on classes and hands-on demonstrations while learning from our super talented instructors.”
Claire Newrones Social Media Content Creation & Marketing
“I think students should consider their future professional goals and take advantage of the resources the Aesthetics Institute offers in career planning and business. There is so much to learn to be a successful esthetician outside of the treatment room, including social media marketing, business development, and other professional skills meant to set up graduates for long-term success. We teach all of that here, and students should learn it all!”
Kaley Partida Clinic Coordinator
“I wish more people understood that esthetics isn’t as complicated or out of reach as it might seem. As someone new to this field, I’m learning more and more every day about how simple and accessible good skincare can be. You don’t need a complicated routine or expensive products—just small, consistent steps toward healthier skin. Caring for your skin boosts confidence and well-being, and that’s something everyone deserves to experience.”
Devin Merriott
“What they offer at the Aesthetics Institute really surpassed my expectations, and I was sad when I had to graduate. I left my program knowing how to start my own business, build a resume, a wealth of product knowledge, insider industry tips for making a profit, and so much more! I definitely recommend this school to anyone with an interest in esthetics!”
THE AESTHETICS INSTITUTE DIFFERENCE
For 40 years, the Aesthetics Institute has committed to teaching highly personalized, hands-on esthetics training.
THE AESTHETICS INSTITUTE DIFFERENCE
We ensure each student receives the highest level of individualized instruction by limiting the number of students we enroll for each class. With our small class sizes, we can ensure to offer an unparalleled level of esthetics education and allow each student to have ample one-on-one time with our instructors.
Our mission is to give students practical knowledge and a unique job market advantage upon graduation.
The unmatched training provided by the Aesthetics Institute has made it one of the most respected schools in the Pacific northwest. Many of our instructors continue to work in the industry part-time, keeping their skills sharp and staying on top of esthetics industry trends.
“I chose to attend the Aesthetics Institute because I loved that it is a family-owned school, the fact that they teach so many services, and that there is an advanced program offered so that you can further continue your education.”
The Aesthetics Institute makes investing in the school a high priority. This investment is reflected in the equipment that supports the instruction. Students use this equipment daily with direct supervision from our expert instructors. Not just for special classes or single-day use.

THE Spa EXPERIENCE
Your education should prepare you to enter the workforce confidently.
In the cosmetology industry, your education is not complete until you have experienced working with clients. The Aesthetics Institute has created an atmosphere to assist students in attaining that real-life experience.
Students first learn how to treat clients in our group practical area. Next, our students use private treatment rooms to treat clients. Private treatment rooms replicate a work setting as closely as possible. Instructors check each treatment before it is performed and are always available for assistance.
“
The instructors at the Institute are highly experienced estheticians who set you up for success with every class. They work hard to ensure that you are more than prepared for your future career through personal one-on-one instruction and constant communication about your progress.”

HANDS-ON LEARNING
The Aesthetics Institute of Portland has been offering advanced beauty education since 1985. After decades of teaching dedicated students and producing over 2000 of the beauty industry’s leading professionals, we’ve built a reputation for excellence.
Currently, the school focuses exclusively on teaching Esthetics and Advanced Esthetics. We are proudly second-generation family-owned and operated.
The Institute is located in southeast Portland, offering students the perfect backdrop for an education in the beauty industry. The Rose City is a place where individuality reigns supreme, which means we get to practice outside the box with creative styles and techniques.
LEARNING STYLES
The curriculum at the Aesthetics Institute is based on the techniques for providing services, unlike other schools that base their curriculum around a specific product line. Our graduates are prepared to work in any environment; they are not limited by only one product line and can quickly assimilate into the industry as a leader.
We invest our time and resources because we care about, and believe in, our students and their success. We recognize that each student learns differently, so we invest heavily in providing materials directed at the four different styles most people learn: Visual, Auditory, Practical, and Social. Our academic program includeselements of each of the four learning styles along with multidisciplinary practicum and education.
These can include:
Live Lectures
Pre-Recorded Instructions
Video Demonstrations
Textbooks
Hands-on Training
Workbooks
Tests and Quizzes
Other Reference Materials
Practical Applications & Demonstrations
Lab Work
Group Work
“I feel incredibly lucky to have gone through both the Masters and Advanced programs through the Aesthetics Institute. My time there was nothing but positive. All the teachers are amazing, but Laura was a true mentor to me and an incredible teacher who was honest yet encouraging. I owe my confidence and skill to the school, and I’ll never forget how it has helped to shape the esthetician I am today.”

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
Everyone is welcome at the Aesthetics Institute.
OUR TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
We are a hands-on, technology and equipment-heavy program. Unfortunately, the esthetics industry often fails to train students with the actual machines they will be using once they are working professionally. We disagree with this model.
While buying and maintaining the newest and highest-demand technology is expensive, the value our students receive from being able to touch and practice with our machines every day is unparalleled in the industry.
“As a student at this school, I definitely felt very confident leaving. Instructors are always available to help and I felt like I couldn’t have gone to a better school to learn everything and anything about skin.”
We believe that a combination of small class size, multi-method teaching, and detailed hands-on training is key to a solid esthetics and cosmetology education. We cater to each student’s unique abilities and ambitions.
Our goal is for you to be an expert in the field on the FIRST day you start your career in esthetics after graduating from our Institute.
e recognize that your reputation is OUR reputation, and we do not take this responsibility lightly.
Hailey Serrano Masters Graduate 2020
OUR COMMITMENT TO INCLUSION
Our commitment to excellence includes our dedication to making every person who walks through our doors feel welcome and excited to learn in a positive environment with zero-tolerance for unkindness or harsh instruction.
The esthetics industry, much like the world, is a diverses place that brings together people from a variety of interests, passions, and walks of life. We recognize and celebrate that it is these differences that make our industry and school the amazing and high-energy place it is today.
We are committed to ensuring all people at our school feel included, valued, and heard. We do this through our commitment to building a “Culture of Inquiry” at our school.
The Culture of Inquiry at the Aesthetics Institute strives to make students feel empowered to take charge of their own learning and to always feel comfortable to ask questions without fear of judgment, shame, or reprimand from our instructors and from their fellow students.
We believe life to be too short to allow others to feel excluded or inferior and we understand that we all want to feel welcomed, valued, and included in a community. We strive every day to be that community for our students, staff, and clients. We hope you will join us.
WASHINGTON STATE RECIPROCITY
Oregon and Washington have “reciprocity” when granting esthetics licenses to qualified applicants.
“Reciprocity” makes it much easier for people living in Washington to attend the Aesthetics Institute, take their state exam, and receive their esthetics license from the state of Oregon and the equivalent license from the state of Washington at the same time. No extra testing or classes are required!
Nearly 1/3 of the students attending the Aesthetics Institute live in Washington and plan to practice esthetics outside of Oregon when they graduate.
We are happy to help our students navigate the process of receiving their license in Washington.
DISCLAIMER:
Please note that the reciprocity agreement between Oregon and Washington is determined at the stateappointed board level. We strongly recommend that everyone look at both state licensing websites, as requirements can change anytime without notice.
The Aesthetics Institute strives to have the most up-to-date information about state rules and reciprocity. Still, the prospective student’s sole responsibility is to ensure they can receive the licensure they seek. Please see our website for the most current information: https://aiofportland.com/student-programs/esthetics/program-requirements-masters-esthetics/washington-state-reciprocity/
APPLICATION PROCESS EXPLAINED

You must submit a few more pieces of information to finalize your enrollment at the Institute. We can collect some of this information digitally, but for some, we will need physical copies.
Read on to the next page to see your final required steps for enrollment. The state of Oregon requires some of this information, and some is to maintain our school’s accreditation.
Please Note: Failure to complete any one of these steps will cause a delay in your enrollment, and you may possibly forfeit your desired start date.
APPLICATION PROCESS EXPLAINED
REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS TO FINALIZE YOUR ENROLLMENT
Your official, sealed transcripts from either high school or college or the transcript equivalent if you completed your GED
We cannot accept a copy of your diploma. Please contact the school where you graduated and request your official transcripts be sent directly to the Aesthetics Institute. If you have your transcripts sent directly to yourself, DO NOT open them. They can be hand-delivered to the Institute, or you can mail them to us inside another envelope, as long as the transcripts themselves are still sealed in their original envelope.
Official transcripts are the ONLY document we do NOT need to have BEFORE you start your esthetics program at our school. We would like to have them before you start your program, but we understand that some high schools and colleges can take a long time to send these documents. Please request your transcripts early in this application process to ensure the Institute receives them in a timely manner.
Signed Social Security Number or Federal Tax ID Number Document
We do NOT need to see the physical card, but we simply need you to provide us with your number and sign a document affirming it is yours. You will be able to sign this document in our Student Information System (SIS).
A copy of your non-expired state ID card or Passport
You will be able to upload a photo of your official ID via our secure Student Information System (SIS) to our school.
While we need you to begin the process of requesting your official school transcripts, we do not need to receive them to complete your enrollment at our school. We understand this process can take time, depending on the school you attended. But we must have all other documentation above in hand before you can officially begin a program at our school.
Finally, three weeks prior to your class start date, your kit fee is due to the school.
You may pay your kit fee at any time after submitting all of the required enrollment documentation, but you must pay or separately finance this fee no later than three weeks prior to your class start date.
Paying or financing the kit fee finalizes your enrollment at the school. We then send your textbooks and schedule your in-house New Student Orientation. Congratulations on enrolling at the Aesthetics Institute!
“I feel so grateful to have been able to get my education here. This small, tight-knit community atmosphere is exactly what I needed and I feel like I was fully prepared after graduating from both programs.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Please refer below to some of our most asked questions about our school and the programs we offer. More detailed information about all of these topics can be found within this Guide and on our website, aiofportland.com.
What programs do you offer at your school?
Masters Esthetics is our beginning-level esthetics course that requires no prior esthetics experience or training.
Advanced Esthetics is our course designed for the professional esthetician ready to take their skills and career to the next level. This course requires a current Oregon esthetics license to attend.
When do classes start?
Our classes start approximately every two months, and a current schedule of start dates can be found in this Guide on page 57.
The extremely limited number of students we enroll for each Masters Esthetics course start date means we often receive more than double the number of applications for the available spots. We enroll on a first-applied, firstenrolled basis. The first students who return all COMPLETED enrollment documents to the school and pay their non-refundable enrollment fee will secure their desired class start date.
We strongly recommend applying at least two to three months before your desired start date, as all of our classes fill up quickly.
How much is each of your programs?
Detailed information about the exact costs of each of the esthetics programs we offer can be found within this Guide on page 22 for Masters Esthetics and page 44 for Advanced Esthetics.
What schedules are offered?
The first half of both of our programs is entirely online, and everyone is considered ‘full-time.’ Once you complete this portion of the course, you move in-house for your practical training, and you can then choose one of the in-house attendance options below:
• Full Time: Monday-Thursday 9 am-5 pm
• Part Time: Monday/Wednesday OR Tuesday/Thursday 9 am-5 pm
Read more about our detailed attendance options in this Guide on page 16 for Masters Esthetics and page 38 for Advanced Esthetics.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the kit fee? What is included in the kit?
The Aesthetics Institute Masters Esthetics Kit has been expertly curated by our instructors and school director and contains everything we anticipate you will need while you are a student at our school.
Your kit will include all of the consumables and back bar products you have access to complete your hands-on training during the in-house portion of your program. It also includes the tools, palettes, brushes, bowls, makeup, waxing supplies, lashes, and all other supplies you will need while a student at the Institute. It includes your uniform, textbooks, and the insurance premiums we pay while you are a student at our school. The kit fee is mandatory and non-negotiable. See more about the kit on page 14.
Does your curriculum teach business success? Do you have brand partnerships?
Our school teaches business marketing and financial planning in our comprehensive academic curriculum. These skills include business plan, resume, and cover letter writing support, and we also provide a large list of professional brand partnership resources to all our students and graduates.
These partnerships include resources on building your own website, setting up social media marketing, budgeting for working for yourself, or some offer additional online and in-person resources at discounts exclusively for our students and graduates.
The school has cultivated these professional partnerships with leading esthetics companies, including Associated Skin Care Professionals, Meevo Scheduling Software, Circadia, OnlyYourRX, Colorscience, Epionce, Myolift, Intensive Lash and Brow Tint, ElleBana Lash Lift, and Crown Pro Makeup.
Beauty as a Business provides students with a suite of online classes and resources to help our graduates get an edge in promoting themselves online and across social media channels.
Universal Companies provides continuing education courses for our graduates and any professional estheticians looking to keep current on their esthetics skills or grow their businesses.
In addition, each student receives multiple professional headshot photos to use when they graduate. See page 14 of this guide to learn more about our brand partnerships in our Masters Esthetics program.
Do you offer job placement opportunities?
We are always more than happy to help our students find employment in this industry. Our instructors have all worked professionally in the area, and the school has taught students for 40 years.
We regularly communicate with spas, medical offices, and other businesses looking to hire our graduates. We always pass these opportunities on to our students and graduates. We also regularly host spa owners and past graduates to speak with our students and share their advice for landing their dream jobs. Read more about job opportunities in the Guide on page 58
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
After I graduate and get my esthetics license, can I use it outside of Oregon?
This is called “reciprocity,” and each state has its own specific rules and regulations. Most of these requirements are controlled by their respective state legislatures or government committees or boards. We encourage you to do your own research on a specific state if you believe you may be moving, as these rules can change at any time. Please page 84 to read more about Washington State Reciprocity.
Currently, Oregon and Washington have “full reciprocity,” meaning that if you get your Oregon license after completing one of the programs offered by our school, you can apply and receive the commensurate license in the state of Washington by simply paying their application fee. More information about this process is available on each state’s official website concerning esthetics licensure, and we encourage you to read it for yourself.
Will I see clients at your school, or will I just work on other students? Do I need to bring in my own models to work on?
We have real clients every day at our school, and you will provide services for them when you are ready. We have been offering esthetics services to the public from our students for nearly 40 years, and we are busy!
We think it is vital for your education in esthetics to see real clients to practice and develop your skills. You are always welcome to invite your friends and family to schedule a service at the school, but you are not required to provide your own models during your training.
The only time you are required to provide a model is during your state practical exam for licensure after graduating from our school. Details will be shared prior to your graduation.
Do you teach lash extensions? Do you charge more for that?
We teach lash lifts, lash tinting, and lash extensions. These are ALL included in our Masters Esthetics course, and there is no extra charge to learn these skills, as they are a part of our curriculum. We have NO extra add-on charges for anything we teach at our school. EVERYTHING is included in the price, even your uniform!
What product lines will I be using and learning at the school?
We only use professional-level skincare, lash extensions, tinting, makeup, and waxing products at our school. We believe limiting students to a single line or brand of products is counterintuitive in helping students learn about the myriad benefits and options available in this industry.
We use and teach a wide range of products at the school, which currently include the extensive professional lines offered by Circadia, OnlyYourRX, Crown Pro Makeup, Alastin, Clean+Easy Spa Wax, Cirepil by Perron Rigot, Intensive Lash and Brow Tint, Myolift, Colorscience, Epionce, and Elleebana Lash Lift.
These products and lines are subject to change at any time or may be substituted based on adjustments in curriculum and availability.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do you offer FAFSA financial aid or scholarships?
Because our esthetics program is a competency-based program, and we are a relatively small, family-owned school, we are currently unable to offer financial aid through the federal FAFSA program at this time. This also includes not being able to accept GI Bill benefits or 529 College Savings Plans.
We are licensed by the Oregon Higher Education Coordinating Commission and our programs are eligible for a number of state-sponsored funding options. Please see our website for more information about these programs.
While we do not offer internal scholarships or financial aid, but we do have a list of private scholarships you can check out on our website, and we do offer multiple financing options to pay for our programs, which can be found in this Guide on page 22 for Masters Esthetics and page 44 for Advanced Esthetics.
Do you have enough machines for all of the students to practice with?
Yes, absolutely. The Aesthetics Institute firmly believes that to learn a skill truly, that skill must be practiced time and time again. The hands-on training portion of each one of our courses includes significant time with ALL of the machines required to learn each skill."
How long does it take to finish each program?
• Masters Esthetics Full Time: 18 weeks (~4-5 months)
• Masters Esthetics Part Time: 28 weeks (~6-7 months)
• Advanced Esthetics Full Time: 16 weeks (~4 months)
• Advanced Esthetics Part Time: 23 weeks (~6 months)
Can I complete either of these programs entirely online?
Our programs require a great deal of hands-on training at our school. While the first half of each program is online, the second half brings the student into our facilities. This allows students to learn and become familiar with the technology and equipment used as industry professionals. This is done under the direct instruction and supervision of our highly experienced instructors. See our detailed attendance options for Masters Esthetics on page 16 and page 40 for Advanced Esthetics.
