Support and Care for Empowering Young Lives

The SOS team showed me that women have an identity and deserve respect Although I used to be afraid of my husband, I’m now able to face any challenge with confidence
Due to the implementation of the “One-Stop Shop” model, which provides integrated services to survivors of GBV and offers a comprehensive approach to support and empowerment, Hind received protection and care, and was referred to economic empowerment programs where she learned how to manage a small business. This holistic support helped her gain the skills to manage financial resources and rebuild her life
By the time Hind (pseudonym) sought help from the Family Protection and Juvenile Department, she and her children had suffered prolonged abuse at the hands of her husband Hind tried to endure the abuse, but once it was evident that her life was in danger,, she was referred to SOS Children's Villages Jordan.
Before arriving at Safe Homes, Hind was in deep psychological distress and had no knowledge of her rights as a woman Married at 15 years old, she believed that a woman had no rights other than being a wife and a mother, and that experiencing violence and abuse was normal
Through the intervention of SOS Children's Villages Jordan, Hind received shelter and care and participated in psychological support sessions Hind says, "I was subjected to verbal and physical violence, and the abuse I faced was immense But after reaching the Safe Home, I discovered that women have rights and can be strong. Through the support provided, I regained my self-confidence and learned how to deal with my children, who had become accustomed to being beaten and exposed to violence "
Through the psychological sessions, Hind gained clarity on her goals and how to achieve them "Now, even if I have to face my husband in the future, I have the strength to stand up to him and protect my children."

Hind's passion for technology led her to explore new opportunities. She learned graphic design and embarked on an empowerment journey that connected her with other women, each pursuing their own dreams, reinforcing the idea that women can achieve anything.
To protect herself and her children, Hind also received legal services There were legal followups on a "separation and dispute" case, and follow-ups on alimony and divorce cases within the services provided by the project.
Expressing her gratitude to the SOS Children's Villages Jordan team, Hind said: "They showed me that women have an identity and deserve respect Although I was afraid of my husband at first, I’m now able to face any challenge with confidence. Now, my children are my greatest source of motivation and strength They have endured significant suffering and witnessed the violence I faced. My goal is to remove them from this harmful environment and provide them with a better life, education, and future than those I had.”
