As we enter the final stretch of the regular season, I want to take a moment to reflect on our journey so far. Our team is 6-1 overall and undefeated in district play at 5-0, sitting proudly in first place. We’ve faced tough competition, but thanks to our #EYES mindset - Earn Your Eagle Sunrise - fueling the relentless work of our players and coaches, along with the unwavering support from each of you, we’ve positioned ourselves for something truly special.
Offensively, our success starts up front. Our offensive line has been leading from the front while paving the way for an impressive 185 rushing yards per game and 17 touchdowns. In the air, we’ve shown an emerging explosive potential, averaging nearly 250 yards per game with 15 touchdowns. This balance has made us a threat on every play, and I know we’ve only scratched the surface of what we can accomplish.
Defensively, the “Black Swarm” has lived up to its reputation, allowing just 17 points per game and holding 4 of our 7 opponents to season lows. Our “No Fly Zone” secondary has collected 8 interceptions so far, making it clear that opposing teams need to think twice before testing us through the air.
Special teams, our “Special Forces,” continue to deliver in clutch moments. We’ve been perfect on extra points and have made 80% of our field goals, including a season-long 46-yard kick.
With three crucial district games remaining, we know the importance of staying focused, improving, and peaking come playoff season. Our first goal is a district title as we prepare ourselves for a deep playoff to reach our second goal of playing in December on our way to our ultimate goal of capturing the 5A Division II State Championship!
So let’s unleash the Eagle energy tonight. Get on your feet! Get loud! Let loose! It inspires us more than you know. And of course do all of this in a way that shows respect for the officials, opposing team, and fans - that’s the Argyle way.
