It features a beautifully appointed earth-home cabin with spectacular views of the surrounding hill country. The cabin has two bedrooms that can sleep up to six and an outdoor patio that features a gas grill and fireplace. Owner Shirley De Weerd and her husband Kevin originally bought the property from a neighbor who began the original construction of the cabin. Working on the cabin became a “labor of love” for the De Weerds as they spent a year creating the welcoming place it is today. “We used it as our own retreat for quite some time, but as we grew to be empty nesters, I thought to myself, ‘this place has brought so much peace and joy to our family, it seems selfish not to share it with others.’” Sitting on the outdoor patio, the sensation of peace and tranquility makes an immediate impression. De Weerd explains that the attraction of Northwoods Vista is powerful but difficult for her return guests to put into words. “When I ask people about their stay, the first word out of their mouth is almost always, ‘Wow’ and then there is usually a pause and a smile. I think they leave relaxed and recharged. Everyone comes for different reasons, but in the end, they get what they need.” Northwoods Vista is a perfect venue for couples, families, or a small group of friends looking for a relaxing retreat. “Often times we’ll get groups of women who are out for a gals’ getaway,” noted De Weerd. “They enjoy letting their hair down, having a glass of wine, and enjoying the comfort of the cabin and the
