781 Second Peninsula Road, Second Peninsula This large scenic picnic park on the ocean has tables scattered under a stand of spruce and fir and can easily accommodate group picnics. Access to Cobble Beach.
Freda’s Beach 18 Peninsula Road, Chester Located in the heart of Chester Village, Freda’s beach is a great spot for an afternoon with the family and to watch the sailboats go by. There is a picnic table overlooking the ocean and washrooms with running water just across the street.
Meisner’s Beach in East River East River is the western launching point for the Aspotogan Peninsula. Just down the 329 you’ll find Meisner’s Beach—a wonderful spot for a stroll and to watch the sunset over Mahone Bay.

Greenfield Veterans Memorial Park Route 210, Greenfield A small riverside park with picnic facilities, information kiosk displaying brochures and local events, plus an interpretive panel depicting the area’s history.
Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site parkscanada.gc.ca/keji Paddle, hike and connect with nature and Mi’kmaw culture. Nova Scotia’s only Dark Sky Preserve. Petroglyphs, traditional encampment areas and canoe routes attest to the presence of the Mi’kmaw people for thousands of years.

Bush Island Provincial Park Off Highway 331, Petite Rivière A small boat launch on the Atlantic Ocean.
Cameron’s Brook Provincial Park 8000 Highway 8, South Brookfield A small brookside picnic park shaded by mixed-wood trees. Across the road is Cameron Lake with access to Ponhook Lake, a favourite for canoeing.
Cookville Provincial Park 1119 Highway 10, Cookville Just north of Bridgewater. A small roadside picnic park with access to the LaHave River.
