HITOMI HOSONO NEW WORK

We are delighted to introduce a new collection of work by celebrated artist, Hitomi Hosono.

Created over the past year, Hitomi has nurtured and tended these pieces almost like living plants, ushering them through their various stages of formation in her East London studio. Despite the various restrictions through periods of uncertainty and lockdown, Hitomi maintained her daily visits to the studio, ensuring her porcelain charges avoided neglect. All pieces were regularly monitored to ensure gradual drying as this is paramount in ensuring each work is successfully prepared for firing.

This impressive selection of new work demonstrates unprecedented modelling and increasingly fine detailing. Many of the pieces feature blossoms, pushing forth, through a canopy of foliage, to bloom in splendour. A sense of optimism and vitality demonstrating a crucial sense of hope in new beginnings.
