regular

meetings of farmers who had used SRI methods. This is done as an effort to monitor their progress and to exchange experiences. SRI method is relatively new to most farmers in this area so that the level of difficulty they face is very high because paddy land of SRI require more intensive care compared with conventional paddy. The biggest problem faced by SRI farmers generally is pest snails and grass growth is too fast. Currently, ADRA has assisted nine farmers using SRI methods. In the next month meeting, ADRA plans to invite counseling officer of Department of Agriculture in Lam-

pung to measure the nitrogen content in the area of SRI farmers, while also observing the development of their paddy. If deficiencies are in terms of the use of liquid organic fertilizer, therefore ADRA can be direct and assist the procurement of liquid organic fertilizer. It is expected that with this counseling, farmers could obtain good harvests.
