we request any and all ADN dot com employee to unblock me on twitter, and not to block any account on twitter. if its a work, newspaper related account. and we request 500 dollar settlement. we feel this ties into recent cases against alaska political figures blocking based on politics people in their areas they represent. and also 1st amendment censorship and tech issues. specifically we have noticed this with nat herz, julia o malley. dave hulen. blocking people based on personal issues they have with people or politics aka difference of opinion, which is subjective. aka which makes it so they cant have a broad and effective reach/ engagement as journalist on SM wtih diversity of people. which limits effectivness of them, and is arguably discrmiinatory since no metric or policy by them or paper seems to support who they

block and why. we point to many extreme left liberal anchorage twitter accounts, condescension personal attacks of a special election candidate sarah palin. or the trend of attacks on for instance state politics david eastman. i see no evdience that liberal reporters like nat and or julia o malley blocked any of these left wing city based accounts or people. which underlines they are acting political, and forming cliques online with their business social media accounts and essentialy sub tweeting or acting condescending or dergotory as well directly or indirectly…. based on poliitics. at work. during the work hours. which we feel is inapprropriate actions by paid journalists and makes their employer liable for their social media actions, including but not limited to blocking… we also underline and point out that NAt is repeatedly

on the popular alaska political hashtag “akleg” or ak gov … as he was reporting on the alaska legislature session etc… we point out that we. have been engaged in alaska politics and community development for longer than nat, and been active on those hashtags before nat worked at either anchorage daily news or ak plubic news etc… and thus our activity and engagement has nothing to do with him or julia as individuals… its just a product of us being civically engaged. citizen. of the area where they work as reporters. we even seriosly considred a run in teh special election race, or actually prior to the death of don young. when he was still alive. a run against him for the us house seat. thus … its worth pointing out that our engagement is not about them, its about the topics they cover. and they owe themselves as reporters, we argue, and their employer owes the public

, we argue… for them to remain somewhat neutral and objecive. or simply they should leave their employement and work elsewhere… perhaps in a political campaign. as thru censoring and trying to shield certain canidates or topics from criticism or engagement by certain people, based on politics or some other unstated metric or policy???/// they are essentially acting acutely political and impacting the narrative of not just social media debate, which should be transparent and free, as is the purpose and function of social media like twitter… but also potentially impacting the actual outcome of the political races.. aka nat tweets more about sarah palin than any other canidate statistically… she got more press… why? because nat likes her? because nat got invited to a special after party etc? u know we need to investigate and teasee out the reasons for these things…

but also the fact he is a male and covering female poltiical figures… female political figures who we have a duty to rigoursuly critique and challenge. just like any male figure who threw their hat in the ring for an election. so its like in a way nat seems to want to shield a left wing candidate, but not a right wing candidate…. which is problematic. and political. did any of these candidates or their attached campaigns or donors direclty or indiretly contribute in any shape or form to travel expenses for your journalists or aid your news paper in any financial or in kind way ? to get this favoritism? should julia be “in residence” at the anchorage museum? this makes me uncomfortable visiting the museum. as i know she has blocked me and acted condesceneing and sub tweeted on social media. we feel she should not, based on her

social media actions , be employed by adn and also should not be at the musuem. she simply has acted unprofessional, and too clearly subjective, and political. on a host and array of topics. we feel that this is not befitting a journalist. and conflicts clearly with the purpose and mission of the museum, which is to be a neutral avenue for people to connnect to alaska history and art and artifacts… but also conflicts with the purpose and mission of the literal aDN newspaper… which is supposed to be a state wide publication of things happening in alaska. certainly its hard to ask teh reporters to not be slightly political on an account with their own name… but if it escalates to blocking people based on their politics who are engaging with stories or facts or data points they are presenting on social media , using hashtags tied to alaska politics. and they are clearly doing this. from accounts, that boldly proclaim they are working for ADN.

their networks are a product oftheir jobs. and they are likely doing this on the clock, at work. we feel their employer is liable , for discriminatoring . censoring. based on politics. or other undefined metric. which is conflicting with your advertised [purpose and mission. as a community news publication. which should fairly acept engagement from diverse members of the community. conservative ,nad liberal… city goers and more rural dwellers. as well as different races and educationa nd income brackets. we aso specifically pointout. that numerous other accounts. also put outcriticism of for instance. mary peltoola… similar and aligned with what we said. in terms of tweets. so it wasnt like our tweets were the only ones speaking up about a candidate etc… and thus we question why were the other accounts not also blocked? it looks like were being singled outfor no reason and treated as

a second class citizen. we feel if they want their accounts and social media presence to be a personal. they should remove that they work for ADN from their bio, and should not be engaging and presenting and covering the topics on social media on behalf of the business newsppaer… theyc ould go work for a campaign. or run a private blog site. or jsut have a personal and a professional account. the lack of professionalism the lack of consistency, the lack of objectivity an neutrlality .. in covering a dynamic political race for instance.. we feel really undermines your reach and engagement.. and also is counter productive to your mission and purpose. and perhaps you simply need new journalists and to retire or fire these guys. and let them go do something else.

because they seem to act entittled and extrememly comfortable and empowered to treate citizesns poorly and or ina. discriminatiroy or abritrary fashion… on social media… while covering a topic like the special election etc… and thus we feel they should simply have a personal account and be dropped from your business. im sure there are a lot of young constructive healthy reporters in the mix chomping at the bit to jump in and work , and who can do it in a reasonably objective and professional manner. and stick to writing their articles. again pointing out that i been on the scene. on alsaka social media. longer than nat, and almost ran for congress myself. and that im not alone with my crtiiscism of him , or your paper. being overlty poltiical. often times

putting out story lines or talking points… withtou substance ebhind it to support it. for instnace at one point suggesting don young chose revak and sweeney and begich, because they had ties to his office… as likely succesoros to his seat in dc. no evidence suggested that . in any shape or form. thats publishing a lie. additionally… clealry nat has offended other alaska citizens. as a host of people, mostly alaska women. recently engaged with his inapprropaite profiling some spouses of female candidates…. whereas typically if a male political candidate… the spouse would not be getting profiled. he clearly seemed to mockingly or condescendingly or combatively or just inaprropriately… put this out there on social media. again , linked to

the popular akleg hashtag…a nd as a paid employee of your paper. we feel you should be aware of the fact that this is the kind of thing , directly or indirectly your employees are doing. which is crossing, in my opinion. and clearly also in the opinion of numerous others. a professional line. and basically being unprofessional. politiical, callous, rude , … and basically enough justification to fire him. we also point out a instagram photo where he is putting a pb and j on bread with a pen, instead of using a knife or plastic knife. it seems to imply that he is poor or inmpovereished and unhappy as a busy journalist. im sure some other journalist for your paper would have been prepared and happy to travel to either rural alaska or to fairbanks to cover those two story lines. and would have done it equally as good as him, for the money you paid him. or better. and

would not be seemingly to complain on social media. on instagram. this , in alignment with him seemingly to act out and provoke thru word choice on twitter. and block in a poltiical way without metric to support. gives the impression of a journalist who perhaps should stick to writing articles… as he may simply be “over doing it” on social media… or a journalist who should be removed and go do something else, where he may be happier. etc and less of a negative on issues and on community and on the state. we also point out these issues with o malley. she has been so vocal for years, and so employed for years. by adn. where she

almost seems to behave like a favorite child or , again using the word entiteld. queen or princess. and seems to think her opinion. or her account, is more worhty than others… which really makes me argue and think that she should be forced to fight and swim in the current of the economy , and leave the nest an supportive womb of the newspaper and city tha has nurtured and babied and employed her for so many decades. as her opinion is shaped surely, on political issues. both state and national, by her being so proteccted etc and insulated from the struggle of commerce, and the truth of our state and national economies and the realities that these worlds convey. and how they impact people , diverse people. in diverse ways. aka force her to step out of the lense of her experience, which has been so clearly city based, and so clearly journalist based. in terms of a perspective… to not just

engage on social media but also to engage thru writing articles etc…. her social media presence. is clearly deeply poltiical, and also linked to the publication that supports and employes her. and deeply at times personal as well. where she pushes lgbt issues . again and again. in a way that at times feels like it might be negatively programming our youth, instead of showcasing issues with a balanced perspective taking into consideration different viewpoints on a topic , issue, law, or local or national story line. at a point. without a paired conservative voice, or even a centralist voice. for a balanced take on issues. or even , just for the open healthy back and forth debate that that type of hosting multiple different

views could offer in terms of productivity of thought etc we get the impression. that her presence and the newspaper that employes her is basically programming a political party viewpoint on the populous… and in a way. activing disruptive an distructive toward the essence of free speech and open debate. which essnetially is what we argue, that a news paper, and more certainly a newspaper social media engagement.. ultimately should be about cultivating and allowing to flourish. theres a sense that they might get frusterated… getting engagement. on their articles and the news etc. but the point is. the reason they are getting engagement is not because we want to engage with them. but because the current layout and process and system of social media and your pay fire

wall for the news articles etc and the way tech has advanced with twitter and hashtags etc… is that we engage with the hashtags and the conversation aka #akleg …. and its about being civically engaged. and i promise u im productive and thoughtful and not a negative influence. so we can rule that out for them blocking me… but the other issue is . maybe they need a private personal social media channel. and a public one that is linked to the busienss ADN and their job as a news writer. because we see this as a viable option. but if they have a big public profile, and are inconsisntently and without metric blocking

people, but than also saying indirect or direct condescending things… they simply are acting unprofessional and should get fired. we feel like a lot of this origined from dave hulen. who is been there, simply too long. and is another one who is clearly liberal. and simply wants to censor based on politics and without metric, reasonable. or rule or guideline reasonable…not just comments for the newspaper, but now also social media engagement on a platform like twitter wiht his journalists. we reiterate we feel that this has departed from journalism, and mission and purpose of the news business ADN. and has clearly and objectively entered into political action type arena … and politics. PR work. and we again reiterate the concern that $ might be involved direct or indirect to influence said work, and

influence said political races. that is not being properly tracked or disclosed. i could certainly go into laws, and point out specific tweets, and much more detail. but im pretty busy and at this point i just wanted to attempt to convey what i see and feel offended effected by.
