RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT ALICE BELFIE Alice is French Canadian and was raised as one of seven daughters. A focus on health and fitness started early- she was cross country skiing to school in Montreal by the 1st grade! She started taking ballet classes at a young age and her creativity flourished. She met her husband at the University in Quebec while she was studying education, and they eventually had three sons and one daughter together. After a career as a gradeschool teacher, she went back to school in the 1980s and got her Masters degree at Wayne State University in Detroit in Exercise Physiolgy and Gerontolgy. She designed and taught a unique form of fitness for older people combining yoga, dance, aerobics and weight training. Today, Alice is 92 and she is many things - talented painter, teacher, dancer, neighbor, and friend to the fortunate staff and residents here at All Seasons Rochester Hills.
