TRANSFER REQUIREMENTS

GENERAL TRANSFER REQUIREMENTS:

• 24 transferable semester hours from a regionally-accredited institution

• Minimum 2.0 cumulative college GPA for all courses as calculated by

Undergraduate Admissions

• Eligibility to return to last school attended

• Demonstrated math proficiency at the college or high school level

Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

*Applicants with less than 24 transferable credit hours should contact a Transfer Admissions Counselor to discuss admissions criteria. High school performance will be reviewed.

MAJORS WITH ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

COMPETITIVE MAJORS:

Due to their competitive nature, admission into some majors requires a higher GPA, additional coursework and/or certain grades prior to transferring.

Art, Architecture, RN-to-BSN and Respiratory Therapy programs have separate application processes and deadlines. Review departmental websites for details.

Request and send transcripts from all colleges you have attended

SENDING YOUR TRANSCRIPTS

You are responsible for requesting official transcripts from each of the colleges you previously attended. Official transcripts should be sent to UNC Charlotte Undergraduate Admissions. Monitor the status of your application and supporting documents in your Future 49er Portal.

1 Apply early! Admissions decisions are required to apply for scholarships and housing. 3

If you are currently taking courses, send your official college transcripts when you apply and at the end of your current term.

2 List all courses in progress directly on your online application.

4 Sending a high school transcript is encouraged and may be required of some applicants.

Financing college is an important part of the transfer process. To help you plan, we outlined our estimated cost of attendance for full-time students. Full-time students are enrolled in 12 or more hours per semester. Please note, the following chart represents average estimates.

Financial aid offers primarily include grants, work study employment, student loans and parent loans. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov so that Charlotte can determine your financial aid offer. Include our school code (002975) on your FAFSA application to ensure Charlotte receives your application.

After being admitted, set up your NinerScholars Portal application to be matched with eligible scholarships. Choose from the available scholarships and submit your application directly in the portal. Most scholarship deadlines are April 1. We strongly encourage you to apply early!
