Congratulations to the graduating class of 2024. We take note of your accomplishment and extend to you the sincere words of encouragement to continue to do your best. It is our privilege to extend to graduating high school seniors, the GUSSIE MAE BURLEY MEMORIAL COMMUNITY SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP, a tribute to the community service work of MOTHER BURLEY whose work was instrumental in the ministry of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and her community. This scholarship was established to assist students and to foster a commitment to community service on the part of the scholarship recipients. ELIGIBILITY | Applicant must be a 2024 High School graduating senior. An active member of Mount Zion Ministries and provide a detailed record of completed community service hours throughout their high school academic career. SCHOLARSHIP AWARD AMOUNT $1,000.00 IS AWARDED FOR THE MOTHER G. BURLEY SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PROCEDURES| Graduating High School seniors will submit a complete application packet and present themselves to the scholarship board for consideration of the scholarships. •
Complete packet will be submitted to the Administrator NLT, Tuesday, April 30 2024, 5 PM with the following: Complete application Essay (one page (single-spaced) or 2 pages (double spaced) typed essay (topics included in this package), not including cover sheet with full name and high school Higher education acceptance letter Official Transcript (sealed) Verification of Community Service Community Service activities must be accompanied by signature secured by the advisor or leader of that activity. ➢ If any of the required information or verifier of community service signature(s) is missing, the application will not be processed.

Applicants will report in professional business attire on Thursday, May 9, 2024, 5 PM for the Interview Process. The interview will complete the application process.
SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS: The winners will be announced during the Graduate Recognition Service – Sunday, May 26, 2024, 11 AM Service.
