BRIEF
the objective of this project was to help connect people with the peristently evolving contemporary world through art and hence architecture. The world has taken modern arts into whole different level and it has diverged into multiple distinguished tributaries. Therefore the goal here being to find the puzzle piece connecting people with the contemporary art such that with time the meaning of its existence never fades throughtout generations to come.
concept and its elements
HUMAN PSYCHOLOGY AND EMOTIONS
iDEA
Wheel of life
Each and everyone of us here has got a single life to live for. So its necessary we look over the life we lived around through reminiscence , art , paintings to make us experience that one life around another through the walls of memories and venture into nothingness and thus the beauty of being a mortal.
execution
execution
Since being human and having feelings stay constant throughhout time , there could not have been a more profound approach to it. Thus the elements used are as such:
Hope corridor
As human beings we all go through tough times time to time . At that stage everything around seems a dark room . Its like a long dark corridor . But in those times there is always a sliver linng after. A slit ray of hope incidenting on our lives and intuitioning us to move forward .
Yin and Yang
The transition of light and shadow effect cause by louvres in my opinion has a deep meaning towards life. It shows how light and shadow two different sides of the the same coin represent every aspect of ups and down in our life; happiness and sorrow etc are equidistant and adjacent to each other throughout the day and end of time. Thier movement refers to the famous quote , ” This too shall pass”

“Architecture is an expression

expression of values” — Norman Foster
7TH SEMESTER
CONCEPT
The idea is to make a space interpret its function and teach its users, its significance through Volume and proportion.
Any human while experiencing transitions of volume of spaces, > Presence of the higher scale entity and is instantly humbled by it . Its a basic human reaction as people experience visting monuments and temple etc. Therefore using that higher entity here as ”THE LAW”.

SITE DETAILS BRIEF
An Institution is a holy environment of learning and practising eduaction. It is a town ruled by principles and regulations of higher power. It is large scale space aiming for large scale productivity The brief given was to design an institutional campus of 45 acres of area for student pursuing law practise constituting of academic , and administrative blocks, a library, cafeteria, an auditorium and residential buildings as well
Site Area - 45 acres
Location - Burla , Sambalpur , Odisha
Wind deirction- North east to South west
ADJOINING LAND USE
The site lies in close proximity to the Hirakud Dam , the largest dam in the world, neighbouring residential, institutional and recreational zones. The site could be accessed through two 18m wide roads, in the North-western and south-eastern side of the site.
Apart from the main parking There are several road offsets provided near each building to provide convenience instead of providing individual parking lots to each and every building. There is landscape feature as shown in the picture above , which is protruding out a water stream out of the only water body of the site present at the heart of the site. Thus a student interactive space is also provided nearby

legends
The ground floor fulfills all the needs of the academic block. Thus the first floor is semi open and is a relaxation space for the users , with planter boxes and pergola with sitouts. There are open lecture spaces which surpasses the limits of the concept of indoor teaching. The users must feel the abidement of the volume to carry out all educational activities in one floor as well as the freedom of space when it comes to learning , making the environment more healthy and progressing .

RIVERFRONT DEVELOPMENT

HANDLOOM HUB
To design and help develop a riverfront area, socially and culturally and with rich heirtage and background history using urban designn stategies and methods prior to the context of the site.
CONCEPT
We go by hundered different things , a hundered different times. We visit thousands of different places and experience it by thounsand different times eaach day. But we completely ignore our existence for a moment and consider the spaces as the living beings it woud seem that its the spaces and structures that interacts with each other all the time. And it varies place to place .This means the design could ideated or specualted. Thus understanding the how spaces communicate with each other. For example a society with or a locality with no recreational area or open space , parks etc will have secluded structures arranged in a very formal way not only secluding spaces but people with each other , spending time in solitary . But with provision of a public park or recreational area it will start connnceting peole of all ages and eventually modifying the park and places adjoining to it. Thus while designing we need to keep in mind how communication between two spaces can be made .

RESTAURANTS
As a public service ,to spend time in the evenings and mornings using the river as its is, as in connecting with river mentally and physically it was necessary to create public service zone. As a result connecting people to the river using restaurants as medium . And therfrore its not just about connecting spaces but connecting people.
