Th e d esi gn of the Roger Williams Univer s i ty Aq u a t ic Center i s inspired by the dynam i c f o r m o f w ater particularly waves. It i s i nt e n d ed to di sti n guish itself as an Aqu a ti c C e n t e r at fi rst si g ht due its dynamic flu e n t f o r m . I n order to provide adequate spa ce f o r a pool and diving well, the roof spa n s a t o t a l of 200ft.This is achieved throu g h a s e r ies of steel elliptical trusses.I t’s lo c a t ion betw een the parking lot and th e c e n t e r of cam pus causes the Center to s e r v e a s a threshold of circulation for th e f o o t t raffi c of Roger Williams Univers i ty s t u d e n ts. T he center is intended to inter a ct wit h t he passi ng s tudent if they so choos e .
