EDI TO RI AL

Dear readers, It is my pleasure to lead you to the end of an year, 2014, filled with accomplishments and successes but also characterized by sacrifices and deprivation. I will walk along with you to the end of this year with hopes and strenghts to welcome the new one. Franklin Delano Roosevelt, said: “Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.” He also used to say: “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” We did dare some mighty things, we won glorious triumphs and we met failures but most importantly we have always done “ what [we] can, with what [we] have, where [we were]”; at first in Rome, then in Milan and more recently in New York City. We did, we will do and we will keep on doing. Because this is our essence, this is our soul. I therefore walk along with you into 2015 with a different magazine, a more international magazine. I am extremely proud to announce that Living Adamis is going to be translated into English to be distributed in States and in Spanish for both the Mexican and American audience. Living Adamis will start speaking different languages and meet different cultures. Livingadamis.com will start communicating in different languages as well, with scoops and news from States and Mexico, opening up to a borderless and limitless world. In short, Living Adamis’ world will reach out for new editorial horizons to give you an ever-better insight on “what [we are doing], with what [we] have..where [we] are!” All of this is possible thanks to you, your fondness and your support that fuel us, just like gas does for engines, push us to follow our dreams with increasing strenght and make us believe, with increasing self-awareness, that... we can fly. Mario Conti With deep gratitude and affection. Direttore Editoriale mc@livingadamis.com @ mrconti000

This product is named La Coque D'Or Perfumed Shimmer Powder; it is lightweighted, luscious and delicately scented with bergamot, rose, jasmine and patchouli notes. The Palette Petroucka is instead inspired by the Russian Ballet, composed of five eyeshadows on the chromatic scales of golden and bronze plus four blush nuances: pink, coral, terracotta and enlightening gold. Always sticking with the brilliance and opalescence theme the iconic Meteoritès face pearls could not be left out, they become for the occasion Perle d'Etoile and they brighten the maquillage with a gentle stardust, encased in a pretious metallic boitier, an authentic collector's item. The holidays' lure comes also from Giorgio Armani, according to whom this season rapresents the evasion via an imaginary trip to discover extreme and suggestive snowy destinations. With this scenario in mind the Orient Express make up collection has been sketched; pale complexion is accented with hints of red and becomes The look to flash at important and socialite events. The contrast between mat and satin is developed all in one product arising from the cosmetic research conducted by the Giorgio Armani Beauty laboratories: it is Maestro Winter Glow, a make up base lacking pigments, realized with pearl-mat finish molecules that blend with the skin tone for a very natural and radiant effect, turning faces into alabaster. atural and versatile: this is the mood that the most famous hair stylist are presenting in their collections. I just spent two days at the Forum del Parrucchiere Eccellente (a gathering of the gurus of hair styling) and I am ready to share with you everything I heard and saw about the hair trends of 2015. I first address those women who look for perfection but do not want to fall short on convenience in their hairstyles, those who would like to recreate the just-got-out-of-the-salon look. To obtain the perfect color and haircut for you, my first piece of advice is to always choose qualified professionist but, to have "no hair out of place" here are some hair tips.

Trends 2015 2015 is the year of minimal chic. If you are still looking for your dream haircut the trend is extremely simple lines and natural-look hairstyles that will put you on top of any occasion, switching from chic to rock with little effort. The rock woman is another mood that reiterates in the current collections. A confident, almost aggressive style that favors short haircuts, natural and messy either with a fringe or a bob shaped choppy-cut. For the women who do not want to give up on their long hair I suggest a layered-cut, mostly in the front

It was 1918 when a flu epidemy, later on named "Spanish fever", started spreading worldwide and ended up killing more than 50 million people in few years. It was the most deadly epidemy as far as history recalls. Unfortunately the human kind seems too prone to forget. There is though a ciclic biological clock that regularly rings off to awake us. This kind of alarm, though, uses a virus rather than a melody to make us get up. The latest awaken is Ebola, a potentially catastrophic epidemy. Ebola's devastation capabilities are not related to any peculiarity of the virus itself, they are instead linked to the location of the outburst. The "infected nations" have a recent history of highly unstable politics, not well-defined nor monitored borders and capitals very close to rural areas; all these elements facilitate the contagion. Five thousand people have died of Ebola up to today, and there are currently 11 thousands of infected people. Very modest numbers if con-

fronted with the 200 milions of infected and 655 casualities of malaria. In the specific scenario of viruses, their strenght lies in their ability to transform and adapt each time they find a new host; this tendency to change Dna allows the same virus to be different according to the human being hosting it. Many modern pathologies, includic some epydemic diseases, have been passed onto humans from animals (zoonosis): research suggests that about a third to a half of all the infective diseases have animal origins. Even though it is not simple to detect with certainty which diseases we directly inherited from animals, there are evident proofs that flu, measles, smallpox and diphteria have this origin. Same seems to apply to HIV, common cold and tubercolosis. Our planet is a precarious ecosystem, the mankind is interfering more and more in the interactions between plants and animals creating more favourable conditions for mass-contagion. During the dark ages men where instead

The Motion Capture, or Mocap, is a technique to record obkects' and people's movements. The Motion Capture technologies are widely used in the digital entertaining and animation industry, as they allow to capture human body movements and immediately translate them into digital information, allowing an almost live creation of virtual contents and animation more and more realistic. A technique that permits to catch the movements of the real actors to then apply them to virtual characters. Americans like Maserati better

I

by Tony D'Elia

The U.S. market has been recovering in many sectors over the past couple of years; among others, the automotive industry has been experiencing steady growth. General Motors is leading with a tangible advantage on giants like Toyota and Ford; overall many brands are celebrating positive trends. From Nissan to Kia, Mercedes-Benz to Hyundai, without forgetting Chrysler which, since it was bought by Fiat, has been rejoicing with 50 months of increasing sales. In an almost everyone-is-happy market, with the exception of Volvo and Volkswagen, the smallest but shiniest star is Maserati, which registered a 350% increase over the latest 4 quarters. Founded in Bologna in 1914, the first entirely Maserati-produced automobile was manufactured in 1926 and it was called "Tipo 26". It is on this car that the Maserati logo was first used, a stylized trident recalling the fountain dedicated to

Neptune in Bologna, most likely designed by Mario Maserati, the only sibling who chose the artistic career over the car industry. Since then, the trident has become a worldwide emblem of luxury and Italian character. Throughout the years the brand excelled both on roads and tracks but it unfortunately went bankrupt after Citroen acquired it. Luckily, thanks to De Tommaso first and then Fiat and Ferrari, the iconic Maserati presence was preserved. In 2014 at the Geneva Motor Show, the company presented a 2+2 concept coupe named after the most influential of the Maserati brothers. This prototype is based on the mechanics of the MC Stradale and has a reduction in length. The Maserati Alfieri was conceived to celebrate the 100th of the group's establishment. Initially born as a functional prototype it was launched into mass production after the positive public consensus. Let's see which are the models that captured the American hearts.

V6 diesel of 3.0 liters and 275 hp. This is the first diesel for the Trident brand, realized by the VM in Cento (now owned by Fiat); undoubtedly the best that could be done in the Bologna surroundings for a car like the Quattroporte. To the extent that everything has been cured in detail, including the color of the exhaust pipe, thanks to the Maserati Active Sound, a system that tunes the sounds of the engine to make them sound similar to those of the gasoline V8 The detectors modulate the driving and the acoustic actuators, located near the exhaust pipes and intervene by tuning the propeller's sound. When the Sport button is pushed, the harmony is enhanced and everything becomes more intense. To obtain a Quattroporte the starting price in 99,000 euros. Technically, the diesel offers a direct-ignition with common rail. The fuel injectors work under a 2,000 bar pressure with multiple sequenced injections. The performance is fulfilling, with a 0-100km/h acceleration in 6.4 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h; to complete the picture, an 8 gear automatic ZF shift with sequential functions. The Quattroporte can be transformed from a curvy luxury sedan to a true sports car, just by clicking on a designated button (Maserati Stability Program) that stiffens suspensions and let’s the Maserati run free in style.
