GRADE 10 DOMINATES

PAGTITIPON

The Grade 10 students of Asian College of Technology received many awards from the Pagtitipon 2019 last August 30 at the Asian College of Technology Bulacao Campus. “We prepared for this so much to make sure our last Pag-

titipon will be memorable” Tasha Quiachon, a grade 10 student, says. The received the “Most Innovative” award for the bulletin making contest, “Lakambini ng Pagtitipon” for Dave Deguinon, “Pinaka-agaw Pansin” for Angel Calma,

“Pinakamagaling na Mananayaw” for Chrisha Tadios and “Pinakamagaling na Kasuotan” for Kimberlee Carreon. “Because I wanted to and I think that costume technically gave me great confidence to stand out wearing that was a great privilege to represent my gender identity and, of course, my community, the LGBT.” Angel Calma, who won “Pinaka-agaw Pansin”, says, “I feel glad that everyone respected unto what I’ve dressed that night and yeah, it was absolutely awesome.” EJ Agot, third placer, Ryan Edillor, second placer, and Kyle Emphasis, first placer, were also awarded for the “Bayani Lookalike 2019”. Grade 10-Perseverance also received second place for the “Pasiklaban ng Talento”. “I have always been a fan of Fernando Amorsolo’s works and the artist himself. I thought of painting my favorite work of his; on my dress to bring back the true essence of historical art. It might have looked easy but there was more than a handful of difficulty that played a vital role on how it turned out.” Shannen Verdida, who won “Most Innovative na Kasuotan”, says. Alyasa Usop, who won “Pinakaayaayang Pagbabago”, says, “From my dad because in my entire life I was never proud of my religion. Ganahan ko

ipakita sa akong papa na proud nako.” Chrisha Tadios, grade 10 student, says, “It feels good to receive an award in Pagtitipon 2019,” Jesse Nunez, grade 10 student, added, “The Pagtitipon 2019 is much better because we worked hard for it.” “Na-shock ko kai wala ko nag-expect…Ma awardan or dili, as long as na enjoy nako ang event it’s okay. To be honest, my huling Pagtitipon was not totally prepared. I’m that kind of person na maglisud og balance sa mga buhatonon. All I got was my family to prepare my outfit.(I was schocked becasuse I didn’t expect for anything... Even if I get an award or not, as long as I enjoyed the event, it’s okay. To be honest, my last Pagtitipon was not totally prepared. I’m that kind of person that has a hard time balancing my activities.) And it was also kinda sad because when I was awarded as Lakambini, my family wasn’t there. But I am really grateful and I believe when you have self-control and self-confidence you can really be someone’s temple since your done your part to be a good role model. I don’t want to brag that’s why I don’t post pictures, I’m also the bashful type of person, but during that time I was really different.” -Donesa Rhae Azcuna
