Raised in Medford, Amber Dizon, a multiunit franchise owner of Black Bear Diner (Wilsonville, Medford, Grants Pass and soon-to-be Salem), earned a degree in Business Leadership from the University of Puget Sound and has built a career rooted in hospitality. Amber’s passion for the industry started young — her parents have been Black Bear Diner franchisees for more than 20 years, and at just 10 years old, she was bussing tables at the Klamath Falls location. After college, she completed a management training program with Four Seasons Resorts, working across multiple locations to gain expertise in operations, management and luxury hospitality. She then moved to San Francisco, where she worked in partnerships and operations for high-tech companies like Airbnb, HotelTonight and MasterClass. In 2022, Amber left her tech career to join the family business, becoming a secondgeneration Black Bear Diner franchisee. Outside of work, Amber enjoys spending time with her husband, JC, and their mini Goldendoodle, Murray, as well as hosting, hiking, traveling, and crafting coffee and cocktails — she’s known to make a mean espresso martini!
QWhat does your business do? What makes it unique?
At Black Bear Diner, we serve good oldfashioned family food, including breakfast, lunch and dinner in a warm cabin environment. We pride ourselves on the quality of homemade food and the large portions we offer, along with the hospitable

I stay motivated by serving our team, guests, and community. I’m passionate about hospitality and strive to create experiences that make people feel welcome and comfortable.

We’re growing and will be opening our next location in Salem later this year!
Q What is your advice for young women in business?

His career took their family to live in several countries. A dedicated entrepreneur and mother of four, Fiona turned her passion for baking into a thriving business crafting shortbread. Q What does your business do? What makes it unique?
We make shortbread with my mother’s family recipe, which is traditional in its rich, buttery flavor. I now make many flavors and chocolate combinations but never stray from the original recipe. We now have a traditional tea room uniquely decorated as if in the U.K. The tea menu is simple and the food is as traditional as possible — scones and cream, sausage rolls, Scotch eggs, sticky toffee pudding and banoffee. We have a lovely outside seating
area. Shortbread is always available. We sell at markets and events around the Pacific Northwest; we also go to all the Scottish Highland Games in the region, and the Salem and Vancouver farmers markets.
Q What keeps you motivated in your career/business?
My motivation comes from a deep passion for what I do and the strong connection it has to my roots. Every day, I find fulfillment in my work because it reflects where I come from and the values that have shaped me.
Q What are you most proud of professionally?
It’s incredibly rewarding when customers return after many years and still remember the taste and quality of my shortbread.
Q What is your advice for young women in business?
Work hard; the more you work the smarter you get at what you do. Be aware of your market and keep spending and income in a good ratio.

Q What are you most proud of professionally?

Christine Lewy Divine Complexions
Christine Lewy, owner/founder of Divine Complexions, is an award-winning esthetician and makeup artist. Although she didn’t pursue a career with her animal science studies at Oregon State, she continues her love of animals by raising toy poodles and Labradoodles with her husband, Matthew, and their six boys, ranging from 9 months to 13 years. Meanwhile, parrot Moe and cockatiel Mango add to the Lewy menagerie. Christine volunteers at Divine Threads and has been a plus-size model — signed by Wilhelmina NY — since 2007. She loves hanging out with her family, sharing fantastic meals and getting massages.
Q What does your business do? What makes it unique?
Divine Complexions is a girly luxurious oasis! We call ourselves a beauty medspa because I started the beauty side as an esthetician, doing makeup, facials and waxing. Then a couple years into my business, my mom joined me as a nurse injector, and we started the medspa. On the beauty side, we offer precision facial and body waxing, luxury facials, Hydrafacials, YUMI Lash Lifting, and non-invasive skin tightening. We also specialize in makeup application and hair styling for bridal parties and special events, as well as makeup lessons. The medspa features
skilled nurse injectors who do Botox, filler and all the fun things!
Q What keeps you motivated in your career/business?
As the owner, I can get caught up in the business side, so I have to keep coming back to what I love to do as a provider of services: makeup application, eyebrow waxing and working with new estheticians. Being hands-on and doing what I love keeps me motivated — also seeing happy clients!
Q What are you most proud of professionally?
I’m most proud of starting my business when I was eight months pregnant — with my second son — out of a room in our humble home, and then growing it over the years while also growing our family into eight. We are now in this big beautiful spa location with a talented and passionate team. We just celebrated 10 years!
Q What is your advice for young women in business?
Your inspiration comes from your heart and it will make you happy and successful. Follow it, and each step will be shown to you. It’s OK to be scared. Do it anyway! You can grow a family and a business if it’s what God put in your heart.
Q How would you describe your perfect day off?
Having fun with my family and dogs playing outside! No arguing, messes are magically cleaned, and food is made! Moms, I know you know.

Living on the river in Wilsonville, she can often be found out on the water with friends and her two beloved Vizslas, Harper and Hank.
Q What does your business do? What makes it unique?
I have been in the mortgage industry since 2001. I’ve been through a million different markets and cycles and no matter
what, I remain intensely passionate about helping people and finding ways to bring homeownership to everyone that I can.
Q What keeps you motivated in your career/business?
I love helping people and I’m so passionate about the power of homeownership. There’s nothing that I can think of that improves a community more completely than helping people purchase a home. The pride of accomplishment and the opportunity that it brings to people is incredible. I want to help as many people as I can!
Q What are you most proud of professionally?
In December of 2024, I helped two firstgeneration home buyers purchase their first home using grant funds that my team and I raised through U Can United. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career, and they were so grateful and deserving.
Q What is your advice for young women in business?
Don’t let anyone define your career but YOU. You are so powerful and your voice needs to be heard. Take bold action, let your instincts guide you and NEVER let anyone dull your sparkle. Imperfect action is better than perfection every day.

variety of specialties for rehabilitation, working directly with orthopedic surgeons, hand surgeons, pediatricians and family practice physicians within our specialties as occupational therapists, certified hand therapists, orthopedic physical therapists, pediatric occupational therapists and speech therapists.
Q What keeps you motivated in your career?
I always knew I wanted to work in medicine. Unfortunately, I had a knee injury in high school requiring two surgeries and rehab. My time in therapy solidified my desire to become a therapist who could address life-changing injuries as well as the direct effects on people’s livelihood, functional independence and psychological recovery.
Q What are you most proud of professionally?
Passing the CHT exam was a huge accomplishment. I have had so many patients over the years with traumatic, devastating and life-changing injuries that I take a great deal of pride in having helped them to return to a life of satisfaction and function with the use of their hands.
Q What is your advice for young women in business?
Therapy school was HARD. Studying for and passing the CHT exam was HARD. Working through these hard things opened a world of growth and opportunities I would have otherwise not had. Push yourself to do hard things, and you will forever be rewarded.

Q What keeps you motivated in your career/business?
What keeps me motivated is creating an unbeatable client experience. I want clients to feel truly taken care of and know their needs are my top priority. By focusing on this, our business grows, and I get to do a job I love, spend more time with family and make a positive impact.
Q What are you most proud of professionally?
I’m most proud of taking the leap into real estate from my corporate career. I’m not a big risk-taker! With support from my family, I made it happen. I get to do something I love, spend more time with family, and show my kids you can always change, learn and grow.
Q What is your advice for young women in business?
Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. It’s hard for me to take my own advice sometimes, but I’ve realized these are the times I’ve grown or made a change. Ask questions, pay attention to what successful women around you are doing, and always be open to learning.
Q How would you describe your perfect day off?
No alarm clock, a workout, a walk in the sun, organizing a closet or two — my happy place is organizing! — reading, dinner and a movie with my fam, and no e-mail!
Coffee shop drink order Starbucks chai latte
Favorite kind of weather
Crisp and sunny

Q What does your business do? What makes it unique?
At Wilsonville Dental Group, we are focused on bringing compassionate and excellent care to our local community! We are an expanded-scope general dentistry practice that offers a wide array of treatments, including oral surgery and
implant placement. We are excited about the recent expansion of our clinic named Serenity Dental. We provide comprehensive dental care under IV general anesthesia, allowing us to reach a greater part of the population who can benefit from dental care while asleep. Serenity is one of the few offices with a board-certified Dental Anesthesiologist present to ensure the highest level of patient care and the deepest and safest level of sedation.
Q What keeps you motivated in your career/business?
Dentistry can be a personal and intimate part of someone’s life. It takes courage to show up to an office and ask for help. After developing rapport and trust with patients, I feel greatly rewarded that I had a part in not only improving someone’s health and quality of life, but also improving the way they feel about themselves!
Q What are you most proud of professionally?
I approach my patients with empathy. I’ve found it is true that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care!
Q What is your advice for young women in business?
Make strong connections along the way; no woman is an island! I wouldn’t have been able to achieve anything without my supportive friendships, extraordinary mentors and loved ones. Introduce yourself to anyone and everyone along the way. Wilsonville Dental Group
