Cascade Furniture has been an advertiser with Community Advantage for many years. We appreciate their ongoing support and patronage, so we are taking this opportunity to share some exciting news with our readers.

We have witnessed mature businesses like Cascade either sell the business or close their doors, especially during a volatile commercial landscape. But, not Cascadethey have grown steadily for over 27 years, and growth continues. Please join us in celebrating their success!

We have prepared a few questions for Jon, owner of Cascade Furniture, Mattress and Design.

CA - Jon, you have completed a major renovation to your building and it looks like an entirely new business, both inside and out. It’s really beautiful. What inspired you to make this change, and why now?

JW - The reason for our expansion is really two-fold - one is simply because we ran out of warehouse and showroom space for new product lines while client demand has continued to grow. The second reason was my daughter, Jordan, wanted to be a part of the business. She will be running our new Design Center.

CA - This sounds like quite a renovation. Tell us more about this journey.

JW - This has been a massive endeavor, two years in the making. But it was the right thing to do. Jordan’s enthusiasm for joining the business became a tipping point for me. Besides growing up in the business, in 2023 she graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelors of Science in Interior Design and Business Administration. In addition, at my request, she worked for a different furniture store over the past two years. She brings a fresh perspective to Cascade.

CA - Why did you choose to expand in this location?

JW - We’ve grown steadily in this location, serving the local community, and have met wonderful people over the years who’ve become long-term clients. We considered expanding in other locations, but we’ve built such a home in this building which we own, so expanding here made perfect sense. We’ve added two new showrooms and nearly doubled our usable space.

CA - Jon, this is quite an extensive renovation, what is the goal?

JW - We really wanted to give our clients an extraordinary experience. We hired the same architectural firm involved in developing Terminal A at the Vancouver Waterfront on the west side of the I-5 bridge. They were able to capture and materialize our vision.

When you come into the new entrance, you will see the most popular and requested furniture and accessories. Plus, there’s access to our 2nd showroom from this location which features new premiere lines. This is just a sneak peak. We hope folks will come for a visit and enjoy the full experience.

CA - Can you give us a bit more detail about the new client experience?

JW - Our new design center is a creative space that facilitates design planning with our clients. Jordan and I have thoughtfully planned this room to present fabrics, textures, materials, and

more. The goal for the new design service is to make design attainable and accessible for everyone. We are here to help clients realize a vision they love.

Adding two new showrooms has allowed us to expand our premiere furniture lines. Also, we have a purpose-driven warehouse to expedite the management, assembly and distribution of furniture, mattresses, and accessories. This means quicker product on the floor and into our clients’ homes.

CA - Is there anything else you would like our readers to know?

JW - All in all, we want our current and new clients to know that our expansion means there’s something for everyone.
