Anne Berest est née à Paris en 1979. Après des classes préparatoires, puis des études sur la dramaturgie baroque à la Sorbonne, elle rejoint en 2001 l’équipe du Théâtre du Rond-Point. Elle fait l’adaptation et la mise en scène de Un pedigree de Patrick Modiano pour Édouard Baer au Théâtre de l’Atelier en 2008 et publie La Fille de son père, son premier roman, en 2010 au Seuil.

Anne Berest was born in Paris in 1979. After studying Baroque drama at the Sorbonne, she joined the team at the Théâtre du Rond-Point in 2001. She adapted and staged Un pedigree by Patrick Modiano for Édouard Baer at the Théâtre de l’Atelier in 2008 and published her first novel, La Fille de son père, with Seuil in 2010.

LA VISITE SUIVI DE LES FILLES DE NOS FILLES The visit followed by the daughters of our daughters

la visite U ne jeune mère reçoit la visite de la famille éloignée de son mari. Seule face à ce public, elle se lance dans un monologue qui balaye le mythe du parfait bonheur découlant du miracle. Plongeant petit à petit dans un délire qui nourrit son argumentation sur l’instinct maternel, elle évoque la science ou la vie des bêtes jusqu’à arriver au bord de l’implosion – femme seule et perdue face au regard de la société et ne pouvant plus jouer le rôle qu’on attend d’elle. Création en janvier 2020 sur la scène nationale de Châteauvallon, reprise au Théâtre du Rond-Point à Paris en février et mars 2020.

les filles de nos filles Philippe, photographe à succès, présente une série de portraits féminins réalisée dans sa jeunesse. En plein vernissage apparaît une femme accompagnée de deux enfants. Mystérieuse, elle fait fuir Philippe qui se réfugie dans sa chambre d’hôtel. Qui est cette femme ? Quelle est sa place dans l’oeuvre du photographe ? Quel est son combat?

la visite a young mother receives a visit from her husband’s distant family. Having to face them on her own, she launches into a monologue that dismantles the myth of perfect happiness stemming from some kind of miracle. Gradually sliding into a stream of consciousness about the maternal instinct, she speaks of science and the life of animals and ends up on the verge of implosion – a woman lost and alone beneath the gaze of society and no longer able to play the role expected of her. It will be performed for the first time in January 2020 in Châteauvallon and then transfer to the Théâtre du Rond-Point in Paris in February and March 2020.

les filles de nos filles philippe, a successful photographer, is exhibiting a series of female portraits taken in his youth. At the opening, a mysterious woman appears with two children and prompts Philippe to flee and take refuge in his hotel room. Who is this woman? What place does she occupy in the photographer’s oeuvre? What is she after?
