WELCOME TO RAI CON

Rai Con is Scotland’s very own Anime & Manga Convention, taking place in the heart of Glasgow. Running since 2016 twice a year, Rai Con has moved from the Concert Hall to the Scottish Events Campus with our 12th event!

The new venue offers us more space, more opportunities for the show to grow and better accessibility!

What to expect!

Hall 1 & 2 of the SEC makes this Scotland’s biggest Anime & Manga convention.

Guest Judges! We’re bringing fresh faces to our shows and ensuring our judges bring a wealth of knowledge and experience from across Europe.

Cosplayers! This is your con and your celebration of Cosplay! Don your most intricate costumes, channel your favourite characters, and strut your stuff on stage. The spotlight is yours; show us what you’ve got!

Gamers! Dive into retro classics and challenge your pals to epic battles in the gaming zone. Whether you’re a tabletop enthusiast or a digital warrior, a gaming adventure awaits you.

Collectors! No con experience is complete without a stroll through Vendors Valley and Artist’s Alley.

Take Part! Join in or sit it out! Rest up and enjoy a screening courtesy of All the Anime or go full zen, with japanese inspired activites in the workshop area.

11:30 am Meowgical Rosie - Idol Performance

Grab your starlight wand and get ready to transform! Meowgical Rosie is a Scottish pop idol who recreates the cheerful and energetic experience of a Japanese underground idol show in the UK.

12.30 pm SO YOU NEED A PROP? (fast!)

MMake a dagger prop from EVA foam in 30 minutes alongside Dova! She will share tips and tricks on working with EVA foam and general cosplay prop-making.

1.30 pm Anime Physics Wigstyling: How to Make Anime Hair a Reality?

Anime hair often seems to defy gravity, so how can you recreate it for cosplay? Learn all the tips and tricks for transforming a regular flat wig into hair straight out of your favourite anime!

2.30 pm Suits you!

Cosplay choices & modifications Q&A

Don’t miss the opportunity to learn from Alyssa Axen Cosplay! They will delve into the crucial aspects of cosplay, from fabric selection to pattern adaptation, offering insights that can significantly improve your cosplay game.

3.30 pm Watch Party with All the Anime!

Enjoy one of All the Anime’s latest releases on the big screen.

4.30 pm C3 Cosplay City Championship & Catwalk

It’s Cosplay Time!!! Cosplayers will show off their making and creating skills in our open general parade (Catwalk) and judged competition. Sign-up is at the Cosplay Desk. The C3 Cosplay Championship is the judged competition with specialised categories to crown Rai Cons C3 champion. Pre-judging will be at the cosplay desk throughout the day.

Rai Cons’ retro gaming team is back, and they will have a large selection of retro gaming consoles and classic games for you to enjoy. If you’re feeling competitive, sign up on the day for one of our three retro tournaments for some great prizes.

Get your photo taken for free, if you like it, buy a print and/or get a digital copy.

SCREENING ZONE

Take a load off and enjoy some classic anime in our screening zone,

or discover a new favourite from one of All the Anime’s latest releases. The schedule will be posted on the day.

TAKE PART - ACTIVITIES

Throughout the day, our craft team will host a series of activities and crafts for all ages. This includes the cute Koinobori (Fish Kites) and Kumihimo (Japanese braiding), which you can use to make a bracelet or key chain.
