1] Know your Architectural Design Style - Be Specific - Visually and Verbally!

Architectural Exterior Styles have been minimized and modernized over time, however it’s important the builder understand the amount of details, types of windows and doors you desire. Those items affect your pricing drastically.

2] Know your Interior Design Style and desired Design Features - Exercise to follow!

You may advise the builder that you want a fabulous stair, but you didn’t tell him you wanted a grand, two-sided semi circle staircase, etc… Well he may have provided you with a quote for a standard stair but now your mad because the cost went up.

However, change order was activated because it was beyond the original request.

3] Overview of Critical Components - A List of Questions are provided. However three examples that happen often would be; a]not advising the builder that you wanted Gas and not Electric b] flooring design or pattern versus a straight lay c] Single Shower head versus a Body Spray or Dual Body System.
