Ιn today’s societies the differences that exist in the relationship between the sexes due to rapid social change and modernization in institutions and laws, have influenced attitudes and roles without being the subject of deeper mental and emotional social and individual processing. As a result, the lack of a smooth adaptation to the new has had a bad effect on gender relationships. The transition of couples from the traditional-patriarchal type to a more equal and comradely "together", was accompanied by confusion in roles and lack of function in communication between them. Conflicts in interpersonal relationships, which concern issues of autonomy, trust, mutual respect, equal sharing of responsibilities, communication and expectations, essentially express significant revisions to deep values and "beliefs". The new cultural reality that emerges is breaking with the previous balance and, like everything new, contains the painful feeling of an indefinite future. In Greek society, the deconstruction of traditional values in the relationship between the two sexes was reflected in the alternative forms of cohabitation, in the growing number of divorces and consequently single-parent families, in second marriage families, etc. The purpose of the family was revised and this led to another definition of the roles of both sexes and their responsibilities. More specifically, the view of the traditional family, which was based on the belief that marriage and having children is man's destiny, gave its place to the nuclear family, which acquired a meaning of existence through the child, to move to the modern couple, who considers that the purpose of marriage is to create a good functional relationship.
