Being an alcoholic, the patient is at an increased risk to develop multiple chronic conditions. He needs help to quit his behavior citing that he will not go to heaven. This brings out the spiritual aspects of the scenario. It also indicates that the patient has spiritual concerns or issues that may affect his heal. It is the responsibility of care providers to identify the cultural, spiritual and lifestyle issues that affect their patients while carrying out an assessment.
