COCA-COLA CONSOLIDATED

2024 chaplain.org FIRST QUARTER REPORT
“ THE BIGGEST BLESSING FOR ME WAS TO BE INCLUDED IN THIS TEAM ACTIVITY AND IT ALLOWED FOR BUILDING EVEN DEEPER RELATIONSHIPS WITH TEAMMATES.

SHOWING CARE AT EASTER TIME

One morning, I received a call asking if I would like to join the Coca-Cola Consolidated team to hand out Easter baskets to children at a local hospital. The hospital staff was also being treated to Chick-Fil-A lunches from CCC. There is no way I would turn down this opportunity to serve alongside the Coca-Cola Consolidated teammates. I rearranged my schedule and was so blessed to be able to participate with them. The biggest blessing for me was to be included in this team activity and it allowed for building even deeper relationships with teammates.

“ THE CHAPLAIN AND THE TEAMMATE HAD WEEKLY CARE SESSIONS, WHERE, WITH PERMISSION OF THE TEAMMATE, THEY PRAYED, AND THE CHAPLAIN PROVIDED SUPPORT.

A STRONG SUPPORT DURING PHYSICAL TRIALS

The Chaplain was informed about a serious upcoming surgery for the spouse of a teammate. The spouse was suffering from heart issues and fatigue. After testing, it was discovered that the spouse needed a new heart valve, correction of another valve, and repair of an aortic aneurysm. The Chaplain and the teammate had weekly care sessions, where, with permission of the teammate, they prayed, and the Chaplain provided support. The Chaplain also checked on the teammate during the week to provide encouragement and prayer. After a wait of about six weeks, the surgery date arrived. The Chaplain met with the teammate, prayed with them, and stayed with them at the hospital during the surgery. All three repairs were successful, and the surgery took less time than anticipated. The Chaplain kept in touch with the teammate to check on the progress of the spouse. The spouse was moved to a regular room on the Cardiac floor the day after the surgery. The following day, the Chaplain visited the hospital to meet with the spouse. The teammate kept the Chaplain updated on the recovery and the spouse went home in less than a week after the surgery. They were so grateful for the Chaplain's prayers and care.
