As we celebrate the 15th anniversary of HaTikva Project, we reflect with deep gratitude on the ways God has used us to serve the people of Israel since 2009. What began as a small e ort to assist Israeli believers has become a multi-faceted ministry assisting many through our Aid, Dental, and Families departments. Due to HaTikva Project’s long-standing presence in the land of Israel, we were able to act swiftly and e ectively to pivot to war relief at the beginning of the conflict sparked by October 7th invasion. Our deep roots and relationships allowed us to launch a War Relief Fund to provide for immediate needs.
Through peaceful times and times of war, we remain committed to serving the people of Israel with excellence in the name of Yeshua. From small beginnings of o ering financial aid to those in crisis, to establishing HaTikva Dental in Jerusalem and Haifa, the birth of HaTikva Families, the war relief fund and Comforters of Zion, the thread that ties it all together is our desire to be a Yeshua-centred compassion ministry to Israel. Today, with a dedicated team of over 20 employees and a broad range of services, HaTikva Project continues to touch lives and bring healing to hearts and homes across Israel. As we look back on these 15 years, our hearts are full of gratitude to our faithful partners and, most of all, to the Lord for all He has done. We are privileged to be able to say that HaTikva Project has been "Comforting Zion since 2009". We invite you to continue this journey with us—to bring hope, healing, and restoration to the people of Israel.
Ephi Greenberg is a native Israeli who has grown up as a believer in Yeshua.
In the past, he worked in the nonprofit field as a project manager for various humanitarian aid projects, including helping terrorist victims and Holocaust survivors. He also spent many years as a manager at a large tour company that served a variety of small to very large tourist groups, gaining experience in logistics and exposure to clients from all over the world. In March of 2024, Ephi joined HaTikva Project as our Aid Department Manager. Ephi says:
I love working at HaTikva. It gives me much joy to make an impact and di erence in people’s lives by helping them in their time of need. To show Yeshua’s love, kindness and compassion through our work is a huge privilege.
HaTikva Project was launched in 2009 as Evan and Elisa Levine made Aliyah and moved to Israel.

The ongoing conflict has left many Israeli families displaced and living as refugees within their own country. Immediately after the October 7th war began with the invasion of Hamas from Gaza, Hezbollah—a separate but aligned terrorist organization in Lebanon—began daily rocket, missile, and drone attacks along the northern border of Israel. These attacks have been at such a scale that they mandated the evacuation of 80,000 people from their homes in the north, causing most of these families to become refugees in their own nation. They have su ered greatly as they were uprooted from their day- to- day lives, places of work, schools, and communities and sent to live in hotels for 10+ months. Can you imagine living in a hotel room with your family for TEN months? By July, Yehudah Hotel in Jerusalem could no longer accommodate 35 families urgently needing stable housing.
HaTikva Project partnered on a project with FIRM and was able to provide three months rent assistance to 21 families, easing their transition to new homes. This support has been crucial in helping them find stability and hope and comforting them during this time of incredible upheaval.
In our 15 years, we have grown from an organization with one employee to a team of over 20 people, providing a broad range of services through our three departments.
This year, through the extraordinary generosity of our partners, in addition to our regular historical scope of ministry, over $521,000 in war relief has been lovingly distributed, touching the lives of 100 families caught in the devastation of the ongoing conflict.
HaTikva Project provided rent assistance to 21 evacuee families and o ered much-needed respite retreats to 20 soldiers and their families—bringing peace and restoration to those who serve. HaTikva Families continues to bloom, completing our annual respite care program and o ering steadfast support to foster and adoptive families throughout the year. And through HaTikva Dental, a remarkable 1,490 patient visits have ensured that our patients have found relief from their critical dental needs. Your desire to care for the needy and comfort all who mourn is the fuel for the heartbeat of HaTikva. Thank you for being part of this beautiful story.
