Angels of Hope in York, UK.
A response from the young artists of York to UNESCO City of Media Arts Viborg's brief: who or what is YOUR 'Angel of Hope'? We provided a citywide project via our HAF Art Camp; we worked with Blueberry Academy; we worked with local schools Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, Carr Junior, and Westfield Primary; we visited areas of York traditionally marginalised, including Strensall, Clifton, Acomb, Holgate, and Westfield. We threw down a video inviting young people to join us: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOR5vymHA_g We have engaged with over 500 young York artists who were delighted to join this increasingly creative conversation. All of them honoured UNESCO's designation of York as a City of Media Arts, all of us are grateful for the continuing collaboration of Viborg. Onwards!
