In summer 2025, York artist Greg McGee visited Westfield Primary Community School and was struck with a community that prioritises children's well-being and success.
Westfield is a vibrant environment, supported by a talented and dedicated staff committed to ensuring the best possible outcomes for all pupils. They believe that positive relationships, strong partnerships with parents, and active community engagement are fundamental to the school's achievements. They foster ambition in the children, encouraging a positive mindset where they believe anything is possible. The staff creatively delivers a meaningful curriculum, nurturing each child and inspiring a love of learning through their dedication and kindness.
The artwork, based on the school’s virtues Confidence, Honesty, Kindness, Resilience, Respect and Teamwork, was bright and witty and a testament to the hard work of this wonderful school.
