As we reflect on our achievements and milestones, we are incredibly grateful to each of you for your continued support, trust, and belief in our organization.
From the outset, our mission to alleviate the financial burdens of healthcare on individuals has remained steadfast. Yet, the reality of affording healthcare remains a significant challenge. In fact, a staggering 112 million Americans find themselves grappling with the challenges of healthcare expenses.
Navigating the healthcare system creates a formidable obstacle, from financial constraints to understanding complex processes.
Navigating the healthcare system creates a formidable obstacle for individuals, encompassing everything from financial constraints to understanding complex processes. Delving into the intricacies of health insurance and healthcare itself can be a daunting task, but Accessia Health remains committed to providing patients with a clear path to success. In an ever-evolving healthcare landscape, we continually adapt to meet the evolving needs of those we are serving.
Year after year, our array of services provides crucial assistance to patients on their healthcare journeys. However, 2022 stands as a pivotal year for our organization, marked by deliberate efforts to establish partnerships aimed at supporting community-based initiatives and addressing health equity through our
Healthy People, Healthy Communities. initiatives. When community programs and resources are seamlessly integrated into structured healthcare, individuals with chronic conditions can experience substantial improvements in their healthcare outcomes.
Forming several collaborations allows Accessia Health to harness new resources and jointly address complex challenges in communities. Through these partnerships which include the Virginia Association of Free and Charitable Clinics, Louisville Community of Care, and the Rare Disease Diversity Coalition, and the Global Genes Advocacy Alliance we are positioned to make a lasting difference for the patients and families we serve.
bringing together thought leaders and industry experts to provide invaluable insights to patients, caregivers, and the community.
Continuing to enhance our patient education offerings, we successfully launched our webinar series, Amplify Your Voice. Control Your Care.,
In an ever-changing healthcare landscape, we continually adapt to meet the evolving needs of those we are serving.
When we say we are here for good, we are affirming our unwavering commitment to our mission and, most importantly, to the individuals we serve. We stand resolutely for the betterment of all people, embracing the responsibility to make quality healthcare accessible and affordable for everyone. With your continued support, we will continue providing hope and help to anyone facing a chronic medical condition or disability.
Accessia Health is taking a transformative step forward, evolving from the conventional patient assistance model to a dynamic approach aimed at enhancing health literacy and fostering better outcomes.
In our last impact report we introduced Healthy People. Healthy Communities., a nationwide endeavor that aligns with the Health and Human Services’ Healthy People initiatives.
We’ve seen outstanding engagement with this program and through community partnerships, our mission remains clear: bridge health disparities, community by community, by embracing a holistic perspective that engages individuals at every level.

“Assisting patients and caregivers with navigating the complexities of health insurance is rewarding because ultimately, they are gaining access to the services they need to manage their health. Serving as an advocate for patients in this way helps ensure that no matter where they are in the process of understanding how health insurance covers their condition, they are not alone.”
At Accessia Health, our commitment goes far beyond the conventional scope of copay assistance. We take immense pride in providing an extensive range of services designed to empower patients with holistic healthcare support. At the heart of this effort are our dedicated case management specialists, who serve as a bridge between patients and essential healthcare resources. Our role involves assisting patients with understanding and obtaining health insurance coverage to meet their healthcare needs. This includes educating patients on Medicare, ACA, Group, COBRA, and Medicaid; assisting patients by investigating their health insurance benefits to ensure they are billed correctly and understands those costs; Educate and empower patients on healthcare topics that could have an impact on their coverage and benefits. Additionally, we empower patients by

This approach is pivotal in achieving the overarching goal of improving a patient’s well-being. Through advocacy, assessment, collaboration, communication, education, and service, case management equips patients and caregivers with the tools for informed health decisions, averting instances of being uninsured, underinsured, or overinsured.
After receiving my Fabry diagnosis, I embarked on the journey to find treatment options. I soon discovered that bi-weekly infusions were very successful. However, the associated costs were astronomical. That’s when I sought assistance through Accessia Health.
I would be making payments that would never allow me to save a penny if it wasn’t for Accessia
Health and I can’t express how significant their help has been.
Having lived with Fabry for most of my life, I make it a priority to urge others with a chronic medical condition to advocate for themselves and their health journey.
It’s important to take control of your care and amplify your voice as you make decisions for your health.
I was diagnosed with Hereditary Angioedema a few years ago after my tongue and throat were swelling to the point where I was on a ventilator in the hospital every few months. Thankfully once I started treatment for HAE, my hospitalizations have been less frequent. Accessia Health has been an amazing support to me throughout my HAE journey! They have eliminated the stress of how to pay for my medication, hospital visits, doctor visits, and travel expenses to see HAE specialists. It’s obvious they truly care about patients.
Living with and managing this rare disease can often feel like a roller coaster. Some days I feel like a warrior. Some days I feel like a broken mess. Many days I feel like a combination of both. But every day I will get up, fight, and try for this beautiful gift of life.

Twice a day I use The Vest machine that percusses me, helping my lungs stay as clear of sputum as is possible. My alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency is kept fairly well under control with the added benefit of a weekly infusion.
Due to my post-polio fatigue, a nurse comes to my home to administer this infusion.
Without the financial help of Accessia Health, this treatment would not be possible.
Accessia Health is committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging amongst our employees, partners and those that we serve. In 2022, we launched our internal DEIB committee, comprised of employees from all levels of the organization that share an interest in proactively supporting the organization’s diversity efforts. The goal of the Committee is to enhance the work environment by empowering communication and building trust as it relates to diversity and inclusion.
“Being on the committee means I have the opportunity to engage with diverse ideas and gain exposure to different individuals and cultures; laying a foundation that creates an exceptional working environment, and ultimately leading to productivity and sustainability. I’ve learned it’s good to ask questions because it can spark great conversations.”
- Jeannette Nurse, Controller
“The most important thing I’ve learned from my committee experience is that I always have more to learn about how to be more inclusive and thoughtful of others. For me, it’s about learning, respecting and appreciating what is diverse about others – and having this guide my interactions thoughtfully.”
- Jennifer Noonan, Sr. Director, Clinical Programs & Compliance
