WHISPERS IN THE SHADOWS

In 1827, a young man named Luis wandered the streets and alleys of London; he was a charming and confident young man. With his look, he attracted a lot of women. Luis had wishes beyond the ordinary; he wanted to be a journalist, to uncover the truths hidden from society. Yet, beneath him lay a restless soul, fueled by passion for the unknown. A few days before his twenty-third birthday, he found himself drawn to the eerie silence of an abandoned mansion on the spooky side of the city. Rumors were heard of its haunted past, but to Luis, it presented an opportunity for adventure With his coat over his shoulder and a notebook in hand, he went into the darkness, guided by his only light source-his lantern If that light had gone out Luis would have had to navigate back to his home in pitch darkness, surrounded by abandoned homes and creepy woods

Meanwhile, in a spooky laboratory away from the heart of London on the creepier side of the city, there was a girl named Elizabeth, a young woman of twenty-one, who was focused on the depths of her research. With a mindset far beyond her years, she went into the mysteries of the mind, driven by her curiosity for knowledge. Unlike Luis, Elizabeth preferred to work and be alone most of her time, finding peace in the quiet corners of her world, where she could work in her laboratory.

As the clock struck midnight, the darkness descended upon the city, developing a creepy and eerie silence Not known by Luis and Elizabeth, their paths were going to meet in a tale of horror In the walls of the mansion, Luis's footsteps echoed through the creepy halls filled with spider webs and creepy insect sounds, each sound making a more scary noise in the quietness of the night Shadows crept on the walls and became life-scaring shapes that seemed to watch him Ignoring the chills going up his spine, Luis continued onward, his heart pounding with a mix of excitement and fear His hands shaking and mini heart attacks with every little noise that he heard, he continued onwards unknowing that he would combine paths.

In the meantime, in her laboratory, Elizabeth poured her notes, her brow furrowed in concentration. Lost in her thoughts, she failed to notice the shift in the atmosphere, the little whisper of something lurking in the back of the shadows. A chill swept through the room, causing her to shiver hard as a sense of unease settled over her. She finally woke up from her fantasy and started to feel the creepiness and change of mood.

As the night continued everything became ghost-quiet; you could even hear the trees talking to each other. But both Luis and Elizabeth found themselves in a state of fear and uncertainty Luis, a confident young man, became a tiny cat flinching at every noise and little sound he heard In the darkness, unseen forces applied against them, making them closer to their future meeting point. Yet, in the wholly unknown to them, their fates would meet in ways they could never have imagined

In the mansion, Luis came upon a hidden contraction; its walls were filled with strange symbols. Surprised, he approached carefully, his fingers going through the patterns into the stone But as he stepped further, a sense of sweat came on his skin like the air just came alive. Meanwhile, in Elizabeth’s laboratory, her experiments took a turn for the worse, as her subjects began to make strange things. Their eyes stared with hunger, their movements were unpredictable With a sense of urgency, Elizabeth turned her efforts, determined to uncover the truth behind the transformation As the night continued, everything between reality and illusion ceased to make sense as Luis and Elizabeth found themselves in a nightmare Shadows at the end of their vision whispered deadly secrets to scare them to death And in the darkness, something ancient showed itself, its presence glowing over them like a vision that came from the depths of hell With each moment passing, the horror was more intense to the point it was unbearable, as Luis and Elizabeth struggled to reveal the mysteries that surrounded them But as they explored deeper into the darkness, they realized that some secrets were best left undisturbed, for there were forces in this world beyond the limit of comprehension. And so, as the sun broke through the darkness, Luis and Elizabeth found themselves standing on the very end of their exploration, their faces covered with fear, their fates hanging in the balance

In the end, they would come to realize that the true horror didn’t lie in the shadows that lurked in the night, but in the very depths of their souls

SHADOWS OF THE PAST

Elizabeth Fischer was brought up to believe that one ’ s family life as well as career should be based on true love, affection and hard work At the age of thirty-six, she considered herself a highly experienced reporter whose love for writing and searching for the truth was inherited by her recently deceased grandfather who she loved a lot. She had no one except him since her parents had died long before she became aware of the world around her leaving only a faded memory of their existence.

Elizabeth`s grandfather was a wealthy person who had lost the love of his life soon after they got married and never married again This tragedy left him completely grief-stricken and since then he entirely devoted his all life and love to his only child, Margaret, Elizabeth’s mother.

But life was unfair to him again when the second tragedy struck him, this time taking him the most precious thing left from his beloved Mary Margaret and her husband, who endlessly loved each other and whose love reminded him of Mary’s and his own, lost their lives in a terrible accident leaving Elizabeth behind.

Elizabeth’s grandfather believed that it was the long-buried curse that robbed him of the most beloved ones, but yet there was a spark of hope and that tiny hope was the little niece of his, the five-year-old Emily, who at that age could not comprehend clearly what was going on around her in the real life.

But then one day, she received bad news; her beloved grandfather had died in an accident which happened at the same place as the previous two-her grandmother’s and her parents’.

The old mansion stood silent, its walls echoing with the whispers of forgotten memories Elizabeth Fischer returned to her childhood home after receiving a letter from her late grandfather's lawyer. The letter spoke of an inheritance, and family secrets long buried

As she stepped into the mansion, memories came back to them Elizabeth could smell the scent of old books which reminded her of the times when her grandfather was alive reading her bedtime stories And for the first time in her life, she had a feeling as if the house held secrets waiting to be uncovered

She wandered around the house and found herself in the attic, full of dusty trunks and forgotten staff An old journal whose pages got yellowed with age attracted her attention. Its leather cover was worn from years of neglect as well As she browsed through the pages, she discovered the words of her great-grandmother, Eleanor Foster.

Eleanor's writings spoke of forbidden love, family betrayals, and a tragedy that had torn the family apart. Elizabeth was drawn deeper into the mystery, trying to put together the pieces of the past like a jigsaw puzzle.

Hidden within the journal were cryptic clues leading Elizabeth Fischer to secret passages and hidden compartments within the mansion. Each discovery brought her closer to uncovering the truth behind her family's dark past.

THE CABIN

The year was 1827 Two bright, young and exceptional minds Elizabeth Fischer and Luis Liebert had made their names widely known after they uncovered and solved some unsolvable mysteries while they put their lives in possible danger. After Liz and Luis got praised for their amazing work, they finally got a little time to settle down and rest in their village.

After some time word spread around the village of the disappearance of a well-known man in the village by the name of Steven. One night Luis was as calm as a summer sea He had been practicing playing the cello and he had been reading some newspaper reports about their heroic work when all of a sudden, he heard a knock on his door. He grabbed his pocket knife, just in case, and went to see who it was He opened the door and he saw his good friend Charles who was sweating and gasping for air. Without even saying a word he barged in and shut the door with force Luis was confused and asked him what was going on and tried to calm Charles down who had been choking with fear. After he calmed down he told Luis that he was on his way home when he spotted a sinister and creepy-looking man dressed in a plague doctor outfit. The man started to rush towards the frightened Charles with a look of spine–tingling terror

Charles eventually lost sight of the man and ended up going to the least afraid person he knew

Following his explanation of the situation, Charles told Luis about the disappearance of Steve whom Luis had known well Charles had told him that some strange things had been happening around their village and that he should look into it After Luis escorted his friend home safely, he headed to Liz’s office. When he got there he knocked on her door and she opened and let him in When he stepped in, Liz said: “So, I guess you finally heard what‘s been going on around here, haven’t you?” Luis said yes and asked his friend how she knew She told him that she had been looking into the case of the disappearance of Steven for three days and even managed to find some clues Luis was upset because they agreed that they would do everything together so no one would get in harm’s way Before he could get his thoughts out in the open, Elizabeth apologized and told him that she knew what she was doing and that she wanted him to trust her.

Luis agreed and told her the entire story that he heard from Charles Elizabeth had found some clues that suggest that after Steven had gone

hunting in the woods three days ago he hadn’t been seen since Elizabeth managed to track down the probable path that Steve had taken before he disappeared. She knew that they would have to go in the middle of the night to try and catch the mysterious man who probably wouldn’t be there during the daytime Not wasting any more time, they went into the bloodcurdling woods They took a lantern and knives.

In the woods, they had arrived at a dead end. Elizabeth was shocked because she knew that this had to be the way As Liz took out her map and notes,

Luis noticed an unusual pile of leaves on the ground and, as he took a closer look, he saw that the pile of leaves had hidden an underground tunnel. He turned around and told Liz and they immediately went in. They emerged on the opposite sideand were both stunned. They saw a really odd but, at the same time, majestic-looking castle that could easily be a thing of nightmare Liz thought that this may be a phantasm and her brain had played cursed tricks on her, while the brave and bold Luis felt his legs turn into jelly and his brain got filled with darkness They pulled themselves together, pulled out their knives and approached the haunted castle Before they even knew it, they were surrounded by heavy mist As they walked, they saw a graveyard with thousands of graves The graves suggested that they had been there for centuries Not far, they saw an ominous-looking cabin and decided to take a look They could hear wolves howling in the distance. The branches cracking gave them cold feet. Just when they thought that the worst part was over, they never could have expected to see - a pool of blood and grim-looking skeletons. Suddenly, a loud bang outside could be heard and before he knew it he was tackled to the ground and was about to get his throat slit. Elizabeth grabbed her knife and stabbed the attacker where he won’t be able to move. Luis jumped up and took the man ’ s mask off just to realize that all this time the man was Steven.

After a week Luis and Liz were back at the cabin, but this time with a lot of other people who were there to investigate this unknown place They came out with another successful mission and the people considered them heroes, but both of them knew that this wasn’t the end of this chilling and unexplained million-dollar mystery

THAT ONE NIGHT AT THAT ONE HOUSE…

It was a cold dark evening… All day the sun was shining but suddenly, huge clouds filled the sky The wind was blowing and the river was moving… After sunset, the full moon was shining and you could see its reflection on the river, lurking between the clouds Everything just looked ready for the big storm that was coming… It was really dark, but that made Elizabeth feel comfort and peace She loved being alone Elizabeth turned a small lamp on, took her book and started reading. She could already smell the rain and she loved that When it started raining, she just continued reading and listening to the rain. Elizabeth wished she would stay there forever

But, her wish lasted only for a few minutes Right after she made it to the most interesting part of her book, Luis came. His really light brown hair was wet but that made him look even better He just looked at Elizabeth and said “Come with me, it’s important”. Elizabeth rolled her eyes and closed her book She put on her black long coat that her mom gave her and went with Luis Her black hair was soaking wet and the red dress she was wearing was slowly turning brown from all the dirt. She couldn’t last any longer and asked Luis where they were going Luis just said “I love how impatient you are ” and smiled a bit. Elizabeth gave him a sharp look and started wiping her glasses off her dress because they were covered in raindrops. She put them on and five minutes later they arrived at a house In the yard, there were a few people Elizabeth felt strange Luis took her hand and they went inside the house. When they saw what was in there, they wished they were home There was blood Human blood… Elizabeth felt like she was about to throw up. Her legs turned into noodles and she couldn’t stand Both of them turned to their left and they saw the broken windows and the small pieces of glass on the floor. It looked like someone tried to escape through the window On their right, they saw the smashed wall that was stained with blood. There was a shovel next to it but it was broken On the floor, there were a lot of crystals. Luis looked up and saw the beautiful broken chandelier and figured out that the crystals were from it There were also stairs in the hall, leading to the rooms on the second floor. The house belonged to a very rich family and that explained the expensive furniture, vases and pictures that were totally destroyed Something strange had happened there and Elizabeth could feel it. When they got to the living room, they saw it

They saw the human body Elizabeth was scared and panicked She asked what they were doing there and Luis said “This is really important and I’m a reporter I have to show this to my boss” While he was talking, Elizabeth was just looking at the body and noticed the knife holes that the dead body was covered in He had a gun in his hand and both his legs were broken Elizabeth whispered, “But why ? Why would anyone do this?”

While Elizabeth was questioning this whole situation, Luis was drawing the body in his journal. “We have to find out who did this,” said Luis. He turned his head down and noticed that he was standing in blood His shoes were covered in it… This whole situation was just odd and creepy. Elizabeth started looking for clues in the living room where the body was, while Luis was searching the whole house. Elizabeth saw that the dead man had a wallet in his pocket She slowly and carefully, without touching anything, pulled the wallet out. She opened it and saw some money and a picture of him and his son “Oh my God He has a son? But where is he…” she said. Right after she said those words she heard footsteps Her heart skipped a beat Her hands were shaking and her vision was blurring… The door opened and Luis came in. “Don’t you ever scare me like that again” said Elizabeth Luis looked at her and pulled a diary out of his pocket.

“Look what I found,” he said He found it in the bedroom under the bed. The diary had this really dark color, darker even than Elizabeth’s hair “So brave of you to search the whole house ” she said while looking at the diary They sat on the couch, looked at each other and opened the diary. It was strange how both of them knew there was something special about that diary and it wasn’t just something regular and ordinary. On the first page, there was a name written. It was Henry Anderson That was the dead man ’ s son While reading the diary they slowly started to realize one thing… One thing that scared them the most The one thing they were praying it wasn’t true But the truth is hurtful and cruel and they could do nothing to change it. They realized who did this and it was Henry His son Everything was revealed when he wrote “The treasure in this house belongs to me and I’ll kill everyone who takes it away from me Including my father who is hiding the money from me… ” That explained the money which was thrown everywhere in this house and the opened empty safe Luis closed the diary, took Elizabeth’s hand and they got out of the house. Luis hugged her and Elizabeth started crying She felt devastated and was shaking Luis felt the same but he also felt this heroic and new feeling because they found the killer and solved the mystery

Early the following morning, Luis showed everything to his boss and they immediately caught Henry. Without even trying to get Henry to talk, he confessed everything and even felt sorry

But that didn’t change anything and he was still the murderer who killed his own father for money and gold

Even though Elizabeth started having nightmares after that night, she was still content Luis, on the other hand, was grateful that Elizabeth came with him that night and they solved the mystery, which took a lot of courage

THE GAME

Elizabeth sat next to her newly wedded husband, Luis in the dimly lit room. The shadows of her in-laws were looming over her somewhat frightened and confused figure, ever since she met Luis he never said anything about having any family, especially a big one that barely had space on a 10-person dining table She looked at her mother-in-law once; the elderly but well-put lady spoke out of nowhere.

-“Elizabeth, it’s quite the surprise seeing you here. Luis has talked about you a lot ever since you and he met,” she said in a clear arrogant tone, letting out a sarcastic chuckle that echoed through the big dining room -“Mother stop !” Luis interrupted, as all other people on the table looked at him frightened that he’d dare do such a thing. -“Oh, what darling? Is that not the truth? You’ve talked so much about your wife that all this time it felt like she was here with us...quite the shame she won’t last too long” Luis’ mother said in a calm but well-mannered voice before he lowered his head and gulped quietly. His change in demeanor betrayed the feeling of unease he tried to hide from Elizabeth who sat there confused about everything

-“Luis, what is your mother talking about ?” she asked him with a quiet and shy tone, she was very confused by everything, he had never mentioned his family but yet they knew about her and what did his mother mean when she said that she wouldn’t be here for long? In that moment and painful silence, she questioned everything, every single detail, were all those years they’d been together all a lie? -“Let him be darling I’ll tell you everything You see, in our family it’s a tradition to play a game with every new family member…you win, you stay, you lose well how do I put it? You die ” she laughed and slid a deck of cards in front of Elizabeth “Pick one...We don’t have all day to waste, chop, chop!” she clapped her hands and waited for Elizabeth

Elizabeth’s heart sank down hearing the words coming from the woman ’ s lips and nodded her head hesitantly She reached her hand out slowly and picked a card that had the words “hide and seek” written on the front of it. She read the card carefully and looked at Luis as if she was begging through her eyes for help from him but he he just kept his gaze on his plate refusing to even take a quick glance at her. -“What a good card Elizabeth! We love this game in our family so listen carefully ” her mother-in-law said with a smug grin plastered all over her face that sent shivers down Elizabeth’s spine “You have until midnight to hide darling...after that, we’ll search for you and if we find you there’s no going back ” her voice trailed off before she suddenly raised her tone “Now go!”

Elizabeth didn’t know if she was joking or not but out of fear and unease she jumped up from her chair and took a run for her life. Her heels clicked down the halls as the laughs of her in-laws echoed through the whole mansion

Finally, after what felt like forever she reached the basement where she hid in a small wardrobe, her heart beating quickly as she tried to control her breathing Minutes felt like hours when she finally heard the words she was most scared of hearing “We’re coming for you!” a voice she hadn’t heard until now yelled out She gasped but quickly covered her mouth with her hand and sat down at the bottom of the wardrobe when, suddenly, fear hit her She couldn’t just sit here and accept her faith, right? She had to go out there and try and escape! So, she did. She gathered all the courage she had left in her and stepped out of the wardrobe before carefully scanning the room with her eyes when she noticed a gun. She grabbed it immediately and thankfully it had some bullets left before she left the basement but not before she removed her heels so they wouldn’t make any sounds on the wooden floors.

The moment she stepped out of the basement she heard footsteps behind her As they gradually grew louder, her heart felt like it was going to burst out of her chest; so, she began running, tears gathering in her eyes as she clenched her fist around the gun, sweat rolling down her forehead since she could hear the other person chasing after her. She didn’t dare look behind her, scared that her faith might end there at that exact same moment, so, she just kept running and running and running, her thoughts filled with the feeling of betrayal from her dear Luis the man she loved ever since he was a boy. But now she didn’t have time for any of that, no, she had to save herself, she had to keep living, she had dreams she yet had to make true.

So, she ran, her legs slowly giving out, hot tears of frustration and exhaustion rolling down her face until she reached the end of the hall No way, left or right Her back hit the cold stone wall and she looked up at the person once they approached her…it was him…Luis, her Luis but it didn’t feel like it his eyes didn’t have that same warmth that made her feel safe. -“They’re gone Elizabeth...They’re all gone, my love... I killed them I killed them because I couldn’t allow them to kill our love” he broke down in tears as he looked down at his bloody hands and his brand new suit that was now covered in blood He dropped down on his knees and pulled her into a tight embrace like she’d disappear if he let go.

-“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you...I was scared I’d lose you...my real family” he sobbed while holding to her desperately, seeking comfort as they sat there on the cold stone floor...covered in the blood of the people that tried to pull them apart

It was a dark cold night Everything was black, there wasn’t a single light outside the house. The cold air was biting, making it hard to stay warm even indoors Suddenly, the thick silence was broken by the haunting howling of the wind. The wind kept kicking the door of the house trying to get in The streets were empty Not a single person was outside, which made the surroundings even creepier

Elizabeth and Luis decided to go on a night walk to explore the quiet city. They brought a small notebook and a pen with them to write down their observations and sketches of the moon They wandered into a dark and deserted corner of a street. The moon was shining as bright as the sun, but it only highlighted the silence and emptiness around them Luis took out the notebook and began taking notes of the amazing view in front of him

Suddenly, they saw something moving out of the corner of their eyes They turned around and saw a shadowy figure standing in the distance, staring at them Fear started to climb up on them, as they realized they weren’t alone. Their heart started to beat fast and their legs felt like noodles They started to run as if a demon was chasing them They ran so fast that their legs started to hurt. Luis saw a light coming from some kind of a small cabin He quickly grabbed Elizabeth by her jacket and they hid in the cabin. They both started panting loudly. Before they could realize what was going on, the figure appeared again They could see its shadow in front of the cabin Luis looked for some kind of weapon in the cabin and found a shovel. Although he was so scared, he took the shovel and prepared to attack Elizabeth was petrified and she started crying Her shoulders shook as she cried. Her eyes were red and swollen, and tears streamed down her cheeks like a river in full flow As each tear fell, it seemed to carry with it a piece of her heart, as if with every drop, a part of her was breaking away She tried to wipe them away with the back of her hand, but they kept coming as if they were determined to escape from her eyes The tears fell faster and faster until she was sobbing uncontrollably. Luis tried calming her, but it seemed like she would be traumatized forever

Suddenly, they heard a noise outside the cabin When Luis realized the figure was gone, he knew he had to be brave. He quietly stood up and told Elizabeth to stay inside He slowly opened the door and closed the cabin. He looked around but no one was there, so he told Liz to get out. When she got out, her eyes looked like a bag of bleach She was exhausted. Luis comforted her and told her they needed to go home. As they cautiously made their way back to the main street, a chilling breeze whispered through the empty streets. Every creak and rustle sent shivers down their spines They were walking as fast as they could but with a lot of discretion Out of nowhere, they heard the same whispering noise Elizabeth's eyes widened with fear, she roughly clutched Luis' arm tightly They knew the figure was around them They started running like the ground was on fire. With each step, the darkness closed in around them, suffocating their senses Just when they thought it was far back, something ran past them, but they didn’t stop. They kept going straight until the figure appeared right in front of them Its eyes glowed brightly as it kept looking at them. The figure's twisted smile made them feel terrified They realized it was the man who was always sitting in the park alone. Not knowing what to do they kept running. They ran, their legs burning with exhaustion, but the man kept following them His laughter echoed through the night, filling the silence. Suddenly, Luis turned behind him and threw the shovel at the man He fell and he crumpled Elizabeth didn’t see what happened. She kept running until she reached the closed alley When she saw she was all alone, she looked for Luis Liz saw him standing next to the hurt man. She was afraid of what he had done But then she saw that Luis just knocked him out Elizabeth felt relieved. She ran and hugged Luis hard. She didn’t want to let him go.

After some time, they called the police and they took the man They explained he was a patient at a mental hospital, but he escaped. They said he didn’t drink his pills before escaping, which explained his behavior. The police were grateful for Luis and Elizabeth's assistance in finding the man and commended them for their bravery They assured them that the man would be returned to the hospital for proper care and treatment Luis and Elizabeth were relieved to hear that and thanked the police for coming fast.

When they arrived home, they felt a sense of bravery and pride. They felt like they had accomplished something incredible, despite the horror of the situation. When they looked back on the events, they were glad that they tried to stay calm the whole time It was a day that would forever be etched in their memories and a memory they would never forget

MYSTERIOUS ISLAND TRIP

Luis Liebert and Elizabeth Fischer, both with an adventurous spirit, decided to take a sailing trip. They wanted to explore the beautiful waters of the Atlantic Ocean and enjoyed the beauty and smell of ocean air and, of course, each other’s company Their trip started out early one morning, but what they didn’t know was that their adventure would take them to a place they never could have imagined and would leave deep traces in their lives forever.

So, as they were sailing they saw whales

The sun went down and night came. They thought to rest for a while but, suddenly, they were surprised. The sky started to shine brightly and a sudden storm hit The waves were so high and restless that the ship began to rock violently They lost control and it crashed onto the shore of an unknown rocky island Elizabeth and Luis were confused, also dazed, but happy and relieved to have survived the storm. The ship was crushed and sunk deep into the sand

Suddenly, they found themselves on an unknown island As they explored the island, they realized that it was like nothing they had ever seen before There were strange big plants with big leaves, intertwined tree trunks, strange big bugs, big multicolored lizards and animals they had never seen before or even heard of. They had no idea where they were, how would they survive, and, most important of all, how to get back home

Elizabeth and Luis thought together and got an idea of how to find a way off the island. They started by exploring the shoreline and looking for any signs of civilization But there was nothing to be found So, they entered deeper into the island.

As they wandered deeper and deeper into the island, they came across a big rock covered with big stones They thought that it had to be a cave Together they pushed and moved the big stone aside and hesitated to enter, but they knew they had to explore it if they wanted to find a way off the island. They felt fear of the unknown.

As they were looking around the cave, they found a map. It was old and tattered, but it was the only clue they had to their whereabouts They began deciphering the map. The map led them to a remote part of the island, where they found a hidden temple The temple was like nothing they had ever seen before. It was made of ancient stones, and there were symbols, drawings etched into the walls They felt strange energy as they stepped inside. They searched the temple for any clues on how to leave the island and they found an old bloody message carved into a stone tablet The message was in a language they didn’t understand, but they could make out a few words: “sacrifice” and “freedom.”

Out of the blue, they saw a little creepy figure in the distance. It was a red-skinned man, dressed in rags, and on his head was an eagle’s head His face was colored and he was watching them. They were scared, but they knew they had to talk to him somehow and get the answers they needed the most to escape and leave the island. The man somehow recognized the fear in their eyes He had been stranded on the island for years and had been searching for a way off, but had been unsuccessful. He told them that the only way to leave the island was to make a sacrifice. Liz and Luis were confused a lot and scared. They didn’t know what he meant by the word sacrifice, but they knew they had to do something.

They decided to make a sacrifice of their own; they would give up their most prized possessions in exchange for their freedom The sacrifice worked. Something strange and unbelievable happened. As they were leaving the temple, they heard a strange noise. It sounded like someone was watching them They turned around, but no one was there They stood in the same place where the old boat crashed. The ocean was bright and peaceful, the sky was blue and sunny and a boat appeared on the shore. They couldn’t believe in all of this. A smile appeared on their faces and their eyes were full of tears of joy Elizabeth and Luis boarded the boat and sailed away, knowing somehow that the boat would find its own way home

After a few days they came back to their normal lives Liz and Luis knew they would never forget the mysterious island and the strange little man. They wondered what secrets it still held

SWEET REVENGE

Back in the 19th century, a well-known family, the Fischers, who lived in a haunted village of St. Elmo in the USA, had a beautiful baby girl; the father Kevin named her Elizabeth after his mother, a witch She was killed by the Catholic Church when she was caught doing black magic to a bride at her wedding

Time passed and the beautiful baby girl Elizabeth grew up to be majestic; she had brown hooded eyes and long light brown hair that covered her completely She didn’t have a normal childhood; her grandpa Peter would tell her scary stories before bedtime, legends and myths. He loved telling little Elizabeth about his dead wife Elizabeth the Witch, how they met, fell in love and the beautiful memories they had before her heart turned evil

Elizabeth was different from all the other children in the village; her parents noticed and were concerned about her They didn’t like the fact that Peter made Elizabeth fall in love with dark and evil things. She started to have serious personality; she loved to spend time alone and completely fell in love with mysterious things; she took completely after her grandmother Her favorite subjects were chemistry and biology So, she loved science a lot and wanted to become a scientist. She would hurt the local cats in the village and kill small animals she could find, she would search for bones and keep them in her room because she wanted a scarily decorated room, she would spend hours in her room all alone trying to call evil spirits-and it worked-she was good at attracting their attention Her mother Olivia would always hear her speak with someone or something and every time she would open the door to see what was going on, she would catch Elizabeth all alone Olivia tried to calm herself down every time, telling herself that it was normal that she probably had an imaginary friend and that she talked to herself Elizabeth would always wait for her parents to fall asleep so she could always sneak out to their local creepy graveyard and spend her time there She wasn’t scared of anything.

One day at school, Elizabeth was trying to get to her classroom without one of her bullies noticing but failed; Sophia went straight for her and began telling her rude words to her face. When Sophia was done, Elizabeth said to herself: “I want you to suffer.” She pulled out her watch and, while she was looking at it, it made her feel calmer Elizabeth was both relieved and surprised when none of the girls came near her the rest of the day.

The next day, Sophia didn’t come to school. She was found dead Her heart was gone Elizabeth took out the pocket watch and the hand was pointing at one The following day, Victoria got a deadly disease and the hand pointed at two Isabella got kidnapped and the watch pointed at three

Elizabeth talked to Luis and he suggested she got rid of the watch; so, she tried, but it would appear in her pocket every time. Eventually, anyone who was bad to Elizabeth had something bad happen to them The hand of the watch then pointed at 11. “You’re a demon Elizabeth, I don’t know what you ’ re doing but it needs to stop! Do you understand!?” said one of the friends of the bullies. “I have put up with you and your friends this past couple of months and you dare ask mercy of me? I wish you were dead”, said Elizabeth in her head. The next day, the hand of the watch pointed at 12

When Elizabeth heard the news, she knew she had to destroy the watch or get rid of it. Luis gave her the idea to return the watch where she found it That night, she went to the wooden house, left it and ran back home The next day, Victoria got cured, Isabella was found and Elizabeth’s eyes and hair went back to their normal color. Luis’s plan worked! The curse was broken and things got back to normal Everyone at school talked about how Elizabeth put a curse on those who wronged her and no one dared to mess with her again

SCIENCE EXPERIMENT

Following the loss of her mother to cancer, Elizabeth, a young and serious woman appeared to have barricaded her feelings and became far stricter with herself. Sadly, her father, a well-known scientist, had also passed away recently, leaving Elizabeth in complete despair

Even in a miserable condition, she had to collect her father’s belongings from his house as she inherited them, but her emotions weren’t the only thing to be dealt with. Luis, an amateur reporter, was trying to schedule an interview, to write a story about her father’s life The meeting wasn't in her plans, but his persistence couldn’t be denied, so she surrendered and let him come to the house Elizabeth didn’t know it yet, but that day would alter her life forever.

Luis and Elizabeth were like day and night. They both seemed to be disturbed by each other’s presence and couldn't wait to part ways In the house, Elizabeth met her grandma Betty, who was waiting for her, as she had to hand her a letter from her father Elizabeth went outside to read it and escape from Luis since he kept questioning her unnecessarily, but she contemplated as she thought it was too soon

In it, it was explained that the plan for a cancer-curing machine her father couldn’t finish was in his lab. He asked her to do it instead. Finishing that machine was his dream so Elizabeth agreed and wished to start instantly, but Luis had to be excluded first She helped him with his story, but the next day he came again, claiming that they focused too much on his personal life rather than his work as a respected scientist Elizabeth refused to help him any longer, but he insisted, so she quit arguing and let him come along once again

The lab was in the basement of his house, so they met Betty there Elizabeth found the machine easily and as a scientist herself, she was impressed, but knew right away it wasn’t finished She started working, but she was uncertain of what was needed. She took the plan home, bothered by the last step There was some shape, an octagon, which had to be inserted to start it.

Days passed and even weeks Elizabeth started slowly grasping the concept of what had to be done, but the shape was still unknown. Luis was also curious, as the shape seemed familiar to him He visited the lab regularly to discover why that was, but Elizabeth didn’t want him there.

In the end, Luis remembered where he had seen the octagon It was a necklace he saw Betty hide in a state of panic when he was looking for the bathroom He found it weird but assumed she had a reason and didn’t tell Elizabeth. He went to her house to tell her his realization, but she didn’t believe him They asked Betty, and she seemed confused by the question. Elizabeth was doubtful. Luis was overconfident and rich, but also brutally honest He wouldn’t lie She checked the drawer the necklace was supposedly in and found nothing. She felt wronged and mad for being so naive She washed her face in the bathroom and on her way out, the door wouldn’t open. She tried again and again, but it was locked Upon hearing her grandma scream, she knew it was over Luis was going to kill her... It was his plan all along. She stood in suspense, waiting when the door opened He found her

Hours later, Elizabeth awoke in her bed, with her grandma by her side and the necklace in her hands Elizabeth felt insane; did she really imagine it all?! But she didn’t ask questions. She was happy everyone was alright

The necklace was the last piece the machine needed, and after inserting it, it started glowing, but nothing else happened She started seeking other instructions and as she was going through countless documents, she started feeling weaker and weaker The world started spinning, her legs folding. She found a binder full of missing person posters, but before she could identify them, she saw red drops of blood drop. Drip. Drip. Until the world became dark.

Luis tried calling her. He was uneasy, anxious. He kept thinking of Betty threatening him, telling him to stay away when Elizabeth went into the bathroom that day. He called, but Elizabeth didn’t answer, so he rushed to the lab, managed to go past Betty and after walking in, he couldn’t see a thing before him. Fog had filled the room; an unpleasant smell was choking him Gas It was coming out of the machine He found Elizabeth and rushed out. Her face was blue, her eyes lifeless. Luis washed her body, thinking she had left for good The gas started gushing out of the cracks around the door. Luis went inside to stop it. He felt as if he was a fish trying to get to the water, gasping for air, flopping around, barely surviving, but he succeeded. He found the machine, got the necklace out, and the gas stopped.

By now, Elizabeth was fully conscious, and she knew what was done

She found hundreds of documents, many of them women ’ s medical reports They all had cancer Others were showing the progress of the treatment and she realized... Her father was experimenting on the women, testing the cancer machine

In his diary, he had written about each woman ’ s identity and what happened to her afterward. The scientist, to save his wife’s life, sacrificed 650 other women and with the help of his mother Betty, he dismembered and fed them to the neighbor’s pigs.

Elizabeth stood still, shocked She couldn’t say a word Luis, who helped her uncover the story, was comforting her, but he also couldn’t hide his fear and disgust

However, Elizabeth needed one more answer Why did her father want her to continue the project? She knew there was only one person who could answer - Betty She calmly went upstairs with Luis beside her She still wasn’t very fond of him, but it seemed as if he was the only true piece in a puzzle built of lies They called for her and looked everywhere, but when they went into the kitchen, they saw the innocent Betty. Hanging, swinging on the ceiling

Elizabeth was forced to live with a portion of the story lost, but she figured it was best that way. Some things are better left unrevealed.

THE AUTOPSY OF APOLLO GENZ

As Elizabeth was preparing early that morning, she suddenly heard a knock on the door She quickly got dressed and went to see who it was To her surprise, it was the famous detective Mr. Luis Liebert, a friend of hers She saw the worried look on his face and asked him what happened With a trembling voice, he told her that he had found a dead body by the river. The person who died had been missing for a long time. His death was a mystery Elizabeth and Luis knew they were the ones who needed to solve this mystery.

The victim’s name was Apollo He was known for doing witchcraft and black magic. Elizabeth and Luis placed the corpse on a big table and first, they noticed something strange. There was literally no blood. Apollo had died long time ago; still, his body was warm It was neither decomposing nor rotting; it seemed unharmed. But it was clear that he was murdered by someone or something Maybe the temperature in the morgue was high and it was warm, and as for the blood, she thought that maybe an animal had sucked it Then she noticed that the heart was still pumping! But how was this possible? Apollo was dead; how was his heart still functioning?

After 5 minutes of silence, they came to their senses and decided to ignore the heart. However, something even more inexplicable was to follow; they saw ancient Greek letters carved on the skin near the navel Just then, weird things started to happen; all the lights turned off Moments later, they heard a loud bang in the other room where they kept the dead bodies Luis went there to see what the source of the noise was and he couldn’t believe his eyes. All the bodies were missing. Luckily, Elizabeth had studied Greek for 3 years and translated the quote: “I curse his body and his soul with the power of the devil; all evil spirits shall enter his body and never leave it unless someone cuts it open He, who reads this curse must suffer every day of his life and go to the darkest pits of hell after his death as a punishment for what he has done. And he who reads this curse must get his soul taken away slowly and painfully by the spirits who occupy this body.” Elizabeth knew that this quote originated from a book called “Satanic Rites” by a cult of witches who lived in the 3rd century “This is such nonsense, ” she said They knew that there was no way Apollo was one of the witches’ victims because, if he was, then he had to have died hundreds of years ago

As Elizabeth finished reading this, she felt something heavy in her chest, as if someone was stabbing her or as if something was trying to take a piece of her Luis just stared at her silently He didn’t know what to do; he knew this was the end. Luis was going to lose Elizabeth Without saying anything, he turned away and started walking towards the corpse of Apollo when he heard Elizabeth moaning He turned

around and saw Elizabeth getting dragged somewhere by one of the walking dead Trying to process what was happening; Luis felt a cold, firm grip on his shoulder It was Apollo; he was staring at him with dead eyes Suddenly, Luis felt strange and fell unconscious

Time had passed before he finally woke up next to Elizabeth, who was crying hysterically They didn’t know where they were; the place looked like a basement. Just then, Apollo walked in. He started mumbling something in Greek and, as he was talking, Elizabeth and Luis managed to get out of the room. The room was in fact, not a room, but a huge catacomb. They couldn’t see anything. They tried to feel their way out of there, and the more they walked, the deeper they got into the catacomb. It was filled with the remains of dead people, with a disgusting, rotting smell. All of a sudden, they heard someone walking behind them. It was an old man; he looked as he hadn’t eaten for years. Just then, he started speaking; he told Elizabeth and Luis that he could help them find the way out They walked for hours The old man told Elizabeth that the catacomb held the “stone of life” The stone was called the “stone of life” because a dying man can be saved by its spells To their surprise, Luis found the stone just as he touched one of his pockets

With the stone of life clutched tightly in Luis' hand, they raced through the labyrinthine catacombs, their breaths ragged and their hearts pounding in their chests. The sounds of pursuit echoed behind them, driving them to push harder, to run faster. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, they stumbled upon a narrow passage leading up, towards the faint glimmer of daylight. With renewed hope, they ascended, emerging into the cool embrace of the outside world. As they stood in the sunlight, their bodies trembling with exhaustion and relief, they knew their harrowing journey was finally over. And though the shadows of the catacombs would forever haunt their memories, they emerged stronger and united by their shared ordeal and the unwavering resolve to confront whatever darkness may come their way

SHADOWS IN THE GALLERY

In the misty autumn of 1827, in the heart of a small city, there stood a grand museum famous for its priceless art collection Among its treasures was a painting, "The Enigma," a masterpiece shrouded in mystery and adored by art lovers worldwide

Luis, a 23-year-old man with a charming and confident demeanor, was attracted by the museum. He often spent his free time exploring its big halls, amazed by the stories each painting told. Elizabeth, a 21-year-old lady, on the other hand, preferred solitude, finding her peace by watching beautiful paintings. One fateful evening, despite their different personalities, fate brought them together as they both found themselves attracted by the art of paintings.

While they were admiring the beautiful paintings, whispers of a stolen masterpiece echoed through the room and interrupted their peace. Luis's journalistic instincts and curiosity showed so he proposed to Elizabeth to investigate the incident together.

Determined to unravel the mystery, their journey took them to the underground of the art world, where shadows danced on the walls and secrets lurked in every corner

"This feels like a scene from a detective novel," whispered Luis as they moved through the dark streets of the small town. Elizabeth nodded while her eyes were scanning their surroundings "Indeed, but we must be careful. The art world can be dangerous, especially when dealing with stolen masterpieces "

They started an investigation that led them to a shady art dealer, who seemed to hold key information about the theft "Excuse me, sir," asked Luis politely but firmly. "We're looking into the disappearance of “The Enigma” Do you have any information that could help us?" The dealer set uncomfortably in his seat and replied nervously: "I'm afraid I don't know anything about that " Elizabeth and Luis looked at each other before they asked again: "Are you sure? It would be in your best interest to cooperate with us."

Then, the dealer, wanting to remove the doubt off him, gave them further leads. Their investigation led them to a painting collector known only as Mr Blackwood Rumors circulated about his shady dealings in the art world, and whispers suggested he had the stolen masterpiece in his possession As they delved deeper into the shadows of deception, Luis and Elizabeth found themselves face-to-face with Mr. Blackwood in his private gallery The room was shrouded in darkness, illuminated only by the faint glow of moonlight filtering through the windows

"I see you've come seeking answers," Mr Blackwood's voice echoed through the room and Luis and Elizabeth felt unsafe. Luis stepped forward Although his confidence was down by the presence of the enigmatic collector, he bravely said: "We know about the stolen masterpiece, Mr Blackwood We want to know its true story "

Blackwood’s cold laughter filled the room: "Ah, but my dear children, the tru this a fragile thing. And sometimes, it's better to never know and to leave it buried in the shadows " Elizabeth's eyes narrowed as she took a step closer, her determination was unwavering. "We won't let you hide behind lies The world deserves to know the truth "

But, before Mr Blackwood could respond, they heard a sound of footsteps behind them. When they turned, they saw a shadow of a big figure moving towards them with a glint of steel in his hand "You've mixed in affairs that don't concern you," the figure yelled with malice in its voice. "And now, you must pay the price."

Luis and Elizabeth looked at each other fearfully and their hearts were beating hard in their chests They knew they were facing a dangerous adversary, someone willing to kill to protect their secrets. With quick thinking, Luis reached for the nearest object, a priceless sculpture, and threw it towards their attacker. As the man stumbled back, Elizabeth grabbed the opportunity to catch his arm, twisting it until the weapon fell to the ground.

But even when they defeated their attacker, the truth showed its real face The world of art was not just a canvas for beauty, it was also a place of darkness and deceit, where shadows hid the sins of the past. After leaving the gallery with the stolen masterpiece, Luis and Elizabeth knew their journey was far from over. But armed with the courage of the knowledge and experience they had gained, they were ready to face anything that might come their way. Wanting to find the truth, they had discovered the true art of survival

With quick thinking and brave determination, Luis and Elizabeth brought the criminal to justice, ensuring that the stolen artworks, including "The Enigma," were returned to their rightful places As they stood triumphantly amidst the chaos, the echoes of their adventure echoed through the halls of the museum "We did it, Elizabeth," Luis exclaimed, his smile widening as he looked at his partner in crimesolving

Elizabeth smiled, with a sense of satisfaction. "Yes, Luis. But our work here is far from over There are still mysteries waiting to be uncovered, and I have a feeling we're just getting started."

Their journey may have come to an end, but as they stepped out into the city night, the twinkling stars above seemed to whisper promises of new mysteries waiting to be discovered. Luis's charming confidence and Elizabeth's serious determination, there was no doubt, could face everything.

THE MAGIC MUSHROOM

Elizabeth’s loved science Her wish to become a scientist was legendary. She enjoyed studying biology at school. As for Luis, he wanted to become a journalist and was with Elizabeth whenever he could

One day, they heard that a rare type of mushroom had been seen in the near forest in their village It was believed that there were only eight of those mushrooms spread throughout the globe. So, with a high ambition to find it, one night, Elizabeth decided to go into the woods Luis decided to help her and came along with her, both of them having candles to see where they went They decided to split apart to hopefully find the mysterious mushroom faster. It was all fun and games, until they realized that they got lost Luis and Elizabeth started screaming loudly to find each other, but, they couldn’t hear each other. While Luis was hopelessly walking through the woods, he saw a girl sitting in front of a tree, crying quietly She looked exactly like Elizabeth to him So, when he kneeled down to talk to her, she screamed in his face, startling him and making him fall down She instantly disappeared Luis thought that it might have been just an illusion, a game which his mind enjoyed playing with him

He continued looking for Elizabeth, eventually finding her close to a wooden house Luis asked Elizabeth if she knew something about the house, but she didn’t. So, they decided to enter it. Luis knocked and backed away, hoping no evil thing behind this door decided to open it Once the door opened, there came out a strange man with a long white beard and a blue wizard looking hat and robes He introduced himself as Byron and asked them what they wanted. Elizabeth told him that she was a scientist who was looking for a rare mushroom that was recently discovered in this forest. Luis said that he was helping her find it and was keeping her company Byron invited them inside his house to tell them more about it.

So, he brought them in and showed them around. They saw a flock of sheep in his backyard that were taken to eat grass in the woods every day Luis and Elizabeth asked Byron to help them with their research on this mushroom, but Byron was way ahead of them in this search. He told them that he had already found it and was keeping it in a very dark spot in his basement. Elizabeth asked if she could see it. The mysterious mushroom was glowing purple and had blue sparkles coming out of it Elizabeth confirmed it

was indee cinated on how it looked Elizabeth really wanted to ask Byron to give them this mushroom, but she highly doubted it since there were only eight of them in the world She asked him anyway Surprisingly, Byron actually agreed, on one condition. He asked them to visit his house every day for a whole month and take his flock of sheep in the woods to eat If they hadn’t listened to him, he would have cursed them. They agreed to this deal and got a map from him to find their way home

Elizabeth was so happy that her mission was a success and Luis was also happy that she managed to complete it. Luis still didn’t forget about the look-a-like of Elizabeth, who scared him out of nowhere So, he decided to ask her about it. As he barely opened his mouth, a mysterious black figure leaped out of a tree and pushed them on the ground They had no idea what it was, or what to do. Elizabeth dropped the mushroom. The figure let out very loud and demonic noises, when it saw the glowing mushroom Screaming in pain, it disappeared

The following days, as Elizabeth and Luis diligently carried out their promise to Byron, they couldn't forget the eerie encounter with the mysterious figure in the woods Despite their fears, they returned to Byron's house every day without fail to tend to his flock of sheep. With each passing day, their friendship with Byron grew stronger, and they found themselves learning more about the secrets of the forest from the wise old man As the month came to a close, Byron presented them with a vial containing a potion made from the magic mushroom. He explained that the potion held the power to protect them from any wicked forces that lurked in the woods. Grateful for his generosity and guidance, Elizabeth and Luis left With the magic potion in hand, they started into the forest once more, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, united in their pursuit of adventure and discovery

AN UNFOLDED STORY

As Luis Liebert walked through the thick snow, the icy wind blew against his skin. He said to himself: "How did I end up like this?" Some hours before, he had been riding a horse on his way to a beautiful unseen kingdom behind the old icy kingdom that he was in. He had lived there for manifold years with his friend Elizabeth Fisher The weather had been getting worse each day, not a single turf of grass could be seen, so he decided he would leave this place for good with Elizabeth.

Sadly, while he was riding the carriage, his horse ran away. It got scared after a tree fell over because it had no water Another reason to leave this depressing place. Now Luis Liebert and Elizabeth Fisher were lonely, far from home and even further away from the kingdom They said to each other: We have to get something to eat, or else

And Luis went off to find food in the never-ending snow After many long hours, he finally found a bush of berries; luckily he knew that those berries could be eaten He told himself: "It was lucky I listened to my father about what you can and what you can’t eat or else I would have ended up like that guy " Luis saw the remains of another man Next to him, there was a bush with white berries that shouldn’t be eaten, the berries that earned the name The White Death Luis filled his stomach with all the berries he found and gathered some for Elizabeth

After some time, he remembered he was far from being safe, hunger was the thing you had to worry about the least out here. Wolves, hungry gray wolves, looking for something or someone to eat Those who lived there called them the Stalker Wolves because they often stalked their prey for many days, waiting for it to no longer be able to run He heard their howls behind him. "I have to run, or else they will get me!" Luis told himself. He stood up and looked over his shoulder; behind him, on a rock, he saw 4 grey wolves and a single white wolf staring at him "That has to be the leader", he thought. Suddenly, the wolves jumped down the rock and sprinted in his direction Luis also began to run, he had no idea in what direction he was running, maybe towards the kingdom, maybe to Elizabeth Fisher, or even into the emptiness of this cursed land

His throat began to hurt, and the icy wind scratched against his skin. The wolves became faster, or was he getting slower? He had no time to think about that; all he thought about was to run and run and run Then suddenly, Luis tripped over a root, his face hit a rock, and he thought: "This is it At least the wolves will live another day " and he fell unconscious

Meanwhile, Elizabeth was freezing due to the dangerous snow and she got hungrier and hungrier by the passing minute After some hours, people arrived and noticed Elizabeth on the path alone, with no food, no water and no traveling means When they heard Elizabeth asking for aid helplessly, they immediately ran to her. Maybe she would survive, or maybe she would give in to the lethal injuries Only time would tell After she was treated with herbal medicine, she began to notice a painful, stingy sensation in her left arm Elizabeth said to herself: ”Oh well, this was expected to happen." She looked at the arm and saw that it was blue with a lot of bleeding bruises It was frostbite She told the people to pour alcohol on her arm to disinfect the wounds and to pour warm water on it to lessen the frostbite The people did the things that Elizabeth requested and told her it would be painful. Elizabeth agreed on it and she prepared herself The cold bottle of alcohol opened as the cap of the bottle fell down and it revealed a unique smell coming out of it…… When Elizabeth sensed the unique smell, a faint smile appeared on her face because she knew it was the end for her……the bottle contained poison. The people poured it on her arm and she felt all of the pain going away as her vision got blacker and blacker until she was looking into the emptiness of the void and lost her ability to feel anything It was the end of her story As time went by, Luis Liebert slowly woke up It appeared that the wolves hadn't eaten him and took pity on him. He saw a reflection of himself deep in the woods and he heard:

"You aren’t supposed to be here." Suddenly, he woke up in his bed, wondering what had just happened Midst the confusion, Luis said something:

Was it all a dream or wasn’t it?
