S ince 1983, we have been equipping students to understand human behaviour so they can contribute to the social well-being of society. We provide a distinctive educational experience based on hands - on learning.
ACAP students are taught by highly-skilled academics and teachers who are also practising professionals with significant industry experience and understanding. Students may be taught by practicing psychologists, counsellors, social workers, police officers, criminologists, lawyers and youth workers.
Our smaller class sizes allow for a greater level of discussion, giving you a better opportunity to ask questions. At ACAP, classmates and teachers form strong bonds as they exchange ideas and explore opinions. This close interaction is key in helping students achieve their personal and professional goals.
In courses with placement included, students have the opportunity to apply theory in a professional workplace for a set period of time, gaining essential real-life experience in their chosen field.
Before graduating, you will build valuable skills in preparation for your career, and establish contacts and mentors who can act as future referees.
As an ACAP student, you can choose how you would like to study. This is what a typical week would entail for each type of student:
Depending on the course, you can choose from the following modes of study:
*The portion of online to on-campus study will depend on the course availability and your personal preference.
“Before commencing at ACAP, I never dreamed I could be where I am today. With the help of the resources and so many people at ACAP, I achieved significantly more than the piece of paper at graduation. I learned so much about myself through this discipline, and in turn, I have been able to gain the skills and confidence to become a safe space for those who need it.”
Cayetana, Bachelor of Counselling
