A qualification in criminology opens the door to fascinating careers where you can delve inside the criminal mind to explore the thought processes that lead people to break the law.

What does a criminologist do?

Criminologists are experts in understanding the motives of criminals and the effects on the criminal justice system. In your studies in this field you will examine criminal behaviour and its various causes. You will also explore the criminal justice system by covering a number of interrelated but diverse areas including corrective services, legal processes, forensic psychology, law enforcement and justice-related issues such as ethics, drugs and crime, community safety and sentencing.

Where could a qualification in criminology lead to?

Criminology graduates typically gain employment in roles such as policing and law enforcement, investigations, customs, para-legal work, court administration, youth justice, community services and corrections.
