Williams & ICHA Teen Travel Team Wins at the Worlds by Neil Flaum At the 2006 World Handball Championships held in Edmondton Canada, Paul Williams, our perennial president proved he was still a force to be reckoned with in the handball world winning the masters “40 and over” one walls singles over Robert McCarthy of Kilkenny Ireland. Over the last year our pres has shed perhaps half a person in weight turning himself into a “lean mean handball machine”. The player “formally know as Big Paul” set a great example for our organization proving, once again, that fitness counts. In addition our pres chaparoned the fifth ICHA sponsored travel team in 15 years. the 2006 ICHA Teen Travel team consisted of Sarah Au, Jurrell Bastidas, Tyree Bastidas, Jonathan Camacho,Jenny Hui, Jonathan Iglesias, Billy O’Donnell and Michael Wu. All teens represented New York Handball well and did us proud. Sara Au the recipient of the ICHA Junior Female Athlete of the Year Award and Brooklyn Technical H.S. student, not only won the 15 and under girls singles one wall but, with teammate Lian Chen took second place in the Women’s One Wall doubles.
