ACVB Accomplishments 2020-2021

v Partnered with Dodge Jones Youth Sports Center to secure new business, resulting in $1 million direct spending to the economy.

v Created new Sports Alliance Fundraiser, raising $17,500 for student athlete scholarships and sporting event grants.

v Created Sports Alliance Facebook page to grow engagement with stakeholders.

v Updated content on monitor screens throughout town to support all stakeholders. v Rebooked 62% of group business cancelled during the COVID crisis.

v Partnered with Taylor County Expo Center to secure new business.

v Grew awareness for downtown businesses by creating itineraries and fun things to do on landing pages targeting visitors.

v Created and implemented a holiday campaign to grow business during a slow season.

v Created 11-minute video overview about fun things to do in Abilene for the TXDOT Travel Counselors.

v Improved community calendar, resulting in a 23% increase in pages per sessions and a 14.37% decrease in bounce rate, and a 12.5% increase in average session duration.

v Created video highlighting all Abilene athletic venues.

v Hosted quarterly meetings with tourism partners.

v Booked 260 meetings and events that will bring $25.4 million into the economy.

v Hosted 188 groups and events bringing $17 million spending to local businesses.

v Grew channels to communicate with locals by growing This Week in Abilene distribution. v Maintained consistent communication serving stakeholders throughout the pandemic crisis.

v Competed for and won free and almost-free digital advertising through the Office of the Governor’s Travel Texas office.
